Hey guys, the guys at Blizzard just asked on Facebook about the 5th class:

    [/B]

Now, this maybe my own ecstatic fandom bubbling over... but I think we may see a new announcement sooner than Blizzcon. What say you guys?

Getting your hopes up. All I'm going to say.

I"m not talking about the lore canon quality. I've said several times Diablo lore canon are good and i agree warcraft and sc are good to, specially starcraft.
This is has nothing to do if the story are good or not. The main reason for people play blizz games are not the story, i'm sure of it. Some people play for it, but they are minority. Just take any diablo, wow and sc community and see the amount of people discussing lore. Now compere to the mount of people discussing balance, strategy and other aspects.

People play those games because they've really good gameplay, specially the multiplayer. Lore takes a part of it, i'm not denying, but it's far from their focus compered to other games.

I wouldn't say that with Diablo or pre-WoW warcraft. Lore was integral in both. Gameplay is just as important as lore with Diablo, but in the end they're both equally important, especially when the game first comes out.

I wouldnt dare to say starcraft kind of technology because that is too advance that even current age cannot have.. But in WoW there are engineers? They can create rather advance stuffs like tinker in warcraft.. don't understand why they cant fit into diablo universe

Because they pissed warcraft lore into the wind, they don't want to do the same thing with diablo lore.

    And who says that?

The ABility to make Guns were available Thousands of years ago to the Real human race.

Everyone knows that Ancient China Invented Gun Powder in 850 AD which is essential part of guns, They even made the first make shift rockets back then.

Guns did not become Extemely popular till roughly the 1500's and only the Rich had true access to them cause only they could afford to buy them.

To say there are no guns is not a problem, who says there's no guns in the Diablo World? Just cause we havent seen them yet doesent mean they dont exist, they could be a VERY rare weapon type.

Meh my arguement is basicly, guns are a easily added weapon into this kind of world. especially if 25 years have passed since the last game, alot can happen in that time.

New Technologies, new weapons, new well.......everything. Just add some crazy genius scientist into the mix and who knows what might happen.

Blizzard has stated that there will be no guns. That is why there will be no guns.

Hmmm... The rewards would be cool. But they could be something like achievements and put into your own personal public hall of trophies. Achievements could be like "Iron Fist", which would mean kill someone with only one hit. And that could have levels like "Peasant", which would be against a low level or not a qualified dueler. Then there could be a "Knight", where you kill someone with one hit who is in your level range and a qualified dueler. Then you can finally have the "Golden Warrior", which means you one hitted a guy who is ungodly good or something.

I don't think having achievements based around onehiting people is a good idea. Too easy to cheat that system.

Anyhow, large-scale battegrounds were mentioned. I also think this would be really awesome, but with the graphics that D3 is presenting... I think it's going to screw up the FPS of a lot of computers. Think the maximum could be 10vs10 or 3v3v3 or 2v2v2v2v2.

These people need to get out of the stone age if they want to play games of this decade. I don't think sacrificing gameplay just because people are too stupid/stubborn/lazy to upgrade their computers is a good idea. I don't see Blizzard implementing battlegrounds into a game like Diablo anyway, but limiting gameplay is a bad idea.

Maybe its a reverse April Fools joke !!

You know ... how Blizz thinks that we will all assume that anything posted will automatically be taken as a joke .. only this time it will be for real and we all still wont believe the news :)

Highly highly doubt that, but here's to hoping.

I love you. I've never actually read the Diablo series which I want to, but haven't gotten around to it. These articles you write are simply awesome though, and help explain the lore behind the world of diablo so well. 2 thumbs up :D.

Since Wrath of the Lich King has been released, out of 3 (3.3) major patches, one patch was almost completely PvP, and the other two were at least half PvP related (In balance changes per class based around Arena and PvP), which included one PvP based zone (Wintergrasp), and two Battlegrounds zones (Isle of Conquest and Strand of the Ancients).

Since Wrath of the Lich King has been released, out of 3 major patches, 4 instances (Trial of the Champion, Forge of Souls, Pit of Saron, and Halls of Reflection) have been released, three of which were just released with 3.3. Three raids have been opened since the release; Ulduar, Trial of the Grand Champion, and Icecrown Citadel (with Ruby Sanctum on the horizon).

Based on the patches (and patches alone), over half of content (based on the lines provided on the patch notes) are PvP related.

When you overgeneralize by saying "Blizzard"... you speak of it as a whole entity, including its franchises, Starcraft being included.

So you think that 4 group instances and 3 major raid instances all complete with their own achievements based on modes ect. is just minor compared to some balance changes for pvp? You've got to be joking or high if you think Blizzard as a whole isn't a company focused on keeping their pve playerbase happy. *Hint* a large percentage of the people playing wow couldn't give a shit about arenas or bgs. At best it's just a side attraction when they're locked out of group/raid instances.

lol you said yourself, is an entirely different genre... Diablo is an other genre... always need to kill monsters to get exp/level... and you need to level to duel... Summary of Diablo = You kill monsters, many monsterssss.

ehhh you talk NOW after many years... D2 get bots after a while...

Uhh, thanks for agreeing with me? I guess? I don't understand the point of your post.

If Blizzard's number one priority was PvE, then why did, during the entirety of Burning Crusade (Not to mention all of Starcraft 2), the focus shift to heavily focused PvP (Arena and BG)? If that were the case, then why is Cataclysm going to rift the Alliance and Horde even more so, to generate more animosity between the two factions, thus igniting more furor in PvP? Please, if you're going to post such claims, be prepared to cite or back it up.

Edit: And no, I'm not a PvP kiddie, I'm actually very much a PvE-er (raider, mf-er, and having funner extraordinaire~).

How much pve content have they released in the last year. How many new maps have they released for arenas or hell even battlegrounds. That alone should be enough proof that their focus is on pve. I'm a "pvp kiddie" myself but I'm not blind to the fact that their number one focus is pve. Starcraft is an entirely different genre and is based around pvp in the first place.
