Quote fromwoot? sorcs used to be really great even before synergies.. bone necs were a bit weak but they were still strong in pvp.. javazons were powerful. Hammerdins didn't work in LOD iirc but in Classic they were the strongest option for a paladin.
There was more build options than now.. with synergies yes you have to put so many points to useless skills, just to make your main skill powerful enough to kill someting in Hell.
Back then you could make dual and tri tree sorcs easily and they were quite powerful in Hell, nowadays you need to have kickass gear to make dual tree work good in hell. Also many other paladin builds than hammerdin were really good (zeal, vengeance etc)
which is all the cause of strengthening all the monsters XD
all they did was make them too strong
and since some of them cant even be stunned its just annoying x3
i mean sure some classes can beat them
just not many builds can without pretty much the best equipment in the game xD
most who rely on summoning will prob need hacked charms to make them anywhere near strong enough to work in hell
i mean i dont even think they even looked at the hell stats when they implemented them
a hell zombie and quill rat has pretty much similar stats to prime evils from the past difficulties
but they come in huge numbers
just prime evils have more resistances so the zombies die a lot faster
unless you equip your merc with a runeword mercs are just downright useless
so ya i think they just over estimated how strong synergies were gonna be
but synergies themselves are fine
the flaw is with the actual skills themselves
i think the amazon just doesnt have too many crazy damaging skills like the other classes have
they need to also fix the att rating big time
most of the time even if the % hit is like 85% itll still miss the later enemies in nightmare difficulty like 10 times in a row and then finally get maybe one hit
that is for melee chars
so if they fix all those i dont see how synergies could be a bad thing
all synergies do is make it so you arent keep your skills at lvl 1 until your lvl 30 or 24 xD
if they took that out in D2 it wouldnt be all that fun for me
actually the only reason i still play it is cuz synergies changed the game from before =3

was to put distance between enemies when you were a sorceror (although warriors can use it to chase, i dont even believe that was an intended use cuz its huge magic requirement)
it was no problem going through walls in diablo 1 with it, since it created distance and if you werent prepared for it the enemies on the other side woulda instant kill you lol
that and there was no mana regeneration in 1, so teleport cost way more than it does in diablo 2 or so far in 3
in diablo 2 on the other hand there were less enemies occupying less space
so even if some mobs could instant kill you, you most likely werent gonna run into them or get surrounded
that and the lvls in diablo 2 are like mazes that are meant to be run through for experience and items
so skipping all the enemies probaly wasnt an intended use
diablo 2 probaly just kept it cuz the sorceress was so fragile, so just like in diablo 1 it was meant to maintain distance
the problem with what they did was, they ported the exact spell from diablo 1 to diablo 2 with absolutely no changes at all
this time they are making changes to the spell so its used to maintain distance and nothing else
the best way to do this is by having a huge cooldown on the spell between uses, so even if you can traverse walls it can and will get you killed sometimes since you cant teleport out
however thats the main spell's use
i believe the power type rune now reduces the cooldown drastically cuz it turns the teleport into an attack
so now they are giving intended uses depending on the type of runes you add to it
still from what i seen in an interview with jay wilson about runes way back then
the power type rune gave teleport like a 2 second cooldown which may overpower teleport drastically, no matter how late in the game you get it
so i just hope they changed that, but basically
the balances should keep a use in the spells, but add more uses when you add runes to them

the monks attacks apply more buffs to himself and debuffs to the enemy than the barbs do
some of those buffs are increasing his defense (was in a review)
there could even be one that reduces the damage he takes by a percent
and by comparing the above stats, the monk actually will end up doing more damage than he barb
since his speed is godly (the speed in his trailer at least)
his 3 hits for 100% weapon damage and applying buffs or debuffs will prob hit around the time a barb can hit him once with one of his monsterous attacks of almost 300%
although it might be more like 3 monk hits per 1.5 barb hits
the damage is pretty even basically, but the monk applies buffs and debuffs per hit
tactic wise the barb might actually be better, due to his leap and attacks like that ancient spear
for the monk his speed and the attacks that allow to move around fast, will make him hard to even target let alone when he does get hit he could have a buff that softens the hit
so all in all, they are overall even in all aspects
just in different ways
the barbarian is more powerful in a more direct sense
but the monk is more ability reliant to keep things even

the in chat fix to bots is to not have a chat room system in the game lol
its easy to meet players in SC2 without any chat rooms
so diablo 3 could fix this by using their forums as the community area
another fix is to disable window mode online, and disable alt tab online (alt tabbing or switching programs for any reason exits the game)
may lose window mode
but it would disable all bots from the game

as the game wasnt made to run with a screen resolution higher than 800, 600
all you need is to lower the screen resolution
run as adminastrator
and run with windows xp service pack 3 or lower
this fixes old games for me (and has fixed diablo 1 before for me =3)

there are 2 versions of it though
the old one has a file setup close to warcraft 2
the new one updated the file setup to be similar to warrcraft 3
they also deactivated battlenet on the old version (they actually count as 2 seperate games)

bought it like 5 years ago at gamestop for like 9 bucks xD
it does have some annoying things that make you not want to play it
the only one i think is annoying though is you cant keep unique items you find through new games
so sometimes you have to go through nightmare without some of your equipment till you find better equipment off the floor or buy new one on griswold (not like it matters since the best items are usually rares anyway lol)
and as a sorc battling is pretty fine, but you have to pause the game to heal often (2 shortcuts thats it)
theres also no pvp toggle feature like in the pc version
so you can kill each other with spells and attacks
and the game takes almost an entire memory card just for 1 save file and 3 characters
but its still fun if you play with someone who wants to play for real =3

i think they just picked demon hunter cuz they used the class in warcraft 3 for a hero
blizzard does recycle names through their games sometimes, so it doesnt really surprise me that they reuse demon hunter
reguardless of what the class is called, it doesnt make the class less bad ass in the end though =3

since the necro's summon spells dont really compete in hell unless he has summon skeleton and mastery at like lvl 35
or he pours all his points into golem spells
the necromancer's most powerful builds have always revolved around slight uses of curses with spells like bone spear and bone armor (sometimes bone spirit as well for pvp and boss fights)
i think they could put both classes into the game though, but make the necromancer into a more dedicated summoner
adding a new curse damage type that made summons do more damage would be a cool twist with the necromancer mixed with bone spells doing arcane damage
poison being completely removed and the effects of some of his previous curses implemented into damage spell forms
they can also add sub types to curse so that some spells would strengthen physical summons, while another form would strengthen magical summons, or just make a different curse effect for every spell =3

cuz i always liked the bow users in most rpgs i play (i actually didnt like the amazon in 2 though)
i prefered necromancer in 2 =3
but the demon hunter looks like she'd be cool and whoop demon's sorry @$$es xD
