Quote fromwoot? sorcs used to be really great even before synergies.. bone necs were a bit weak but they were still strong in pvp.. javazons were powerful. Hammerdins didn't work in LOD iirc but in Classic they were the strongest option for a paladin.
There was more build options than now.. with synergies yes you have to put so many points to useless skills, just to make your main skill powerful enough to kill someting in Hell.
Back then you could make dual and tri tree sorcs easily and they were quite powerful in Hell, nowadays you need to have kickass gear to make dual tree work good in hell. Also many other paladin builds than hammerdin were really good (zeal, vengeance etc)
which is all the cause of strengthening all the monsters XD
all they did was make them too strong
and since some of them cant even be stunned its just annoying x3
i mean sure some classes can beat them
just not many builds can without pretty much the best equipment in the game xD
most who rely on summoning will prob need hacked charms to make them anywhere near strong enough to work in hell
i mean i dont even think they even looked at the hell stats when they implemented them
a hell zombie and quill rat has pretty much similar stats to prime evils from the past difficulties
but they come in huge numbers
just prime evils have more resistances so the zombies die a lot faster
unless you equip your merc with a runeword mercs are just downright useless
so ya i think they just over estimated how strong synergies were gonna be
but synergies themselves are fine
the flaw is with the actual skills themselves
i think the amazon just doesnt have too many crazy damaging skills like the other classes have
they need to also fix the att rating big time
most of the time even if the % hit is like 85% itll still miss the later enemies in nightmare difficulty like 10 times in a row and then finally get maybe one hit
that is for melee chars
so if they fix all those i dont see how synergies could be a bad thing
all synergies do is make it so you arent keep your skills at lvl 1 until your lvl 30 or 24 xD
if they took that out in D2 it wouldnt be all that fun for me
actually the only reason i still play it is cuz synergies changed the game from before =3

assassins werent really cuz they had shadow and martial arts moves that were almost OP xD
although i dont think the WD will be a blacksheep
they are like a necromancer and will attract ppl to play as them cuz of their 3 totally diverse skill trees
well i think their diverse i mean summoning fire and disease might be somewhat close to what it is or something like that lol
i dont think barbs will be a blacksheep in the upcoming game though since they really fixed the aoe problem the barb had in the second game
i think the wizard may be nerfed at one point and be a blacksheep possibility
but its too soon now to know lol
i mean unless they release a clown or something only time will tell xD

Bounty Hunter is one i like
instead of having a religious class you could have a group of ppl using diablo little scheme for their own benefit lol
have a Gun tree (not like a machien gun or rocket launcher but maybe just a pistol with ammo types) also it could have synergies to add to dragoon tree skills. like add fire damage to some spear skills through gunpowder and magic lol
Explosives Tree (if you dont like guns it can use satchels or grenades or moltive cocktail just for a different play style) but it doesnt synergy or strengthen other trees just itself except for maybe 1 skill for gun tree
Dragoon Tree (uses polearms for weapons and can combine with dragon like magic or maybe even shape shift into a dragon lol but thatd be at like lvl 30) and it could also have a dragon pet but does not let you shape shift and keep the pet
the game doesnt have to have a religious class lol

Butcher- Rouge* Usually around lvl 3 or 4. Buy a bow of knockback and fire away, he'll never reach you (also can work in higher difficulties).
Warrior* Buy a falchon and duke it out with around 16 full healing pots lol, or follow the sorc way with a staff that adds to magic like a staff of wizardry.
Sorceror* Buy a scroll of firewall or the book of firewall. Open the butcher's door and cast it on his side of the door and then close it. He should hug the wall on the other side and die from the firewall.
Night & Hell Butcher- Warrior* Use mana shield and try to use a sword of haste, preferably a bastard sword. Make sure to have a high amount of armor like full plate mail.
Sorceror* Use above method to weaken him. then open the door with telekinesis and blast fireballs at him, or use the arch angels staff of apocalypse on him till he dies.
King leoric- After entering his lair and doing the minor puzzles i suggest killing all the minor skeletons before fighting him head on.
Warrior* Just use a bashing weapon like a mace or a warhammer. He should drop like hes nothing without attacking so often (also works on higher difficulties)
Rouge* again Bow that knocks back or just run back and he'll run around like an idiot so you can shoot at him.
Sorceror* Holy bolt helps a lot or lightning. If he gets close run back and he wont really run after you like the butcher. He usually gets lost in the pathing XD.
(you kill him pretty much same ways in higher diff but the warrior can use weapons of haste)
Acid Spewing Unique- He doesnt always spawn but i have a harder time on him than i do diablo XD.
Warrior* dont stay in direct path of the whole group they hurt too much. Axes help a lot or fast attacking swords. Also any magic can help so long as its supportive like healing or mana shield.
Rouge* Hide behind barrels or run in and out of cover between walls quickly. Remember to shoot at least once while doing this lol.
Sorceror* Hes actually the easiest. Let them see you and run quickly behind a wall to block their line of sight. Instantly as when you cant see them cover the room in firewalls except you. It also helps to shoot the fire elemental spell from where they will come. Fireballs can substitute as well or even guardians =3.
Note* Enemies in Cave really are just about dodging their attacks and having high resistance. I myself never got too stuck on them so maybe some of the above strats can beat them. I have no special way to deal with them lol.
Lazarus- By this point of the game he really isnt too hard but his room does have some decently powerful enemies so be careful of mass spells.
Warrior* A warcraft 2 tactic of the rope a dope can help a ton lol. Run into the room slightly and run out. they will follow in a line allowing you to take them out or at least the more agressive enemies first, but run if you see some of the casters run out too lol. Repeat until you win =3. For lazarus himself just chase him and dodge his fireballs they can hurt a bunch.
Rouge* Same as Warrior but you have range lol so it should be even easier. Bows with lightning enchantments help a lot in this point of the game.
Sorceror* Run in and just spam apocalypse or do same as warrior with fireballs. You can also cast guardians at the doorway and theyll aquire targets on their own lol.
Diablo- His whole room is full of chaos. Most of them cast fireball so practice at dodging those. Teleport can help at dodging and skipping some of the obstacles.
Warrior* once you get by all those puzzles, lure diablo out by himself and run like all hell. when you lure him far from his minions attack like there is no tommarrow using fast attacking swords and such. You will need a ton of full HP pots so make sure to fill your inventory at least half way with em.
Rouge* Lure him away like warrior but you dont need to run quite as far. Pelt him with lightning enchanted bows, it usually screws up his attacks so he cant pelt you with apocalypse lol. You Will need some HP pots so be ready to use them.
Sorceror* they have two options. You can essentially just skip all the obstacles and teleport right into diablos little box. if you do get apocalypse ready and just cast nonstop. if your fast enough that can win it for you. If not do the obstacles and cast firewalls and chain lightning to wipe the floor with any minions he has. (fireballs and guardians work with a power and tactical advantage as well). Diablo is easiest killed with a fireball spell, apocalypse, chain lightning, and golem lol. The golem can distract at least =^.^=.
Well thats all the help i will give for the bosses =3

i also want to point out that all the lore is in the playstation version of diablo 1
its in its own little menu and it has all the books in order explaining the whole entire story
its quite interesting and fun to read =3
it also explains some things they even left out of diablo 2 lol
perhaps to build on diablo 3's story but who knows x3
