Quote fromDidn't the d2 barbarian have a passive skill tree?
Resistances and masteries and the like?
Well, since d3's skills are set up differently you're probably right, but I was thinking that they would an integral part since real shaolin monks do extensive training to harden their body/control chi/etc.
Yeah, in D2 there were some passive based skill trees...
But this isn't D2, it's D3... All of the characters have had skills + passives in every tree thus far.

I totally agree that it shouldn't be nearly as ridiculous as it was in Diablo 2. I think it was crazy when you had ~+15 to all skills and then things like energy shield were insane even though you only tossed one point into it.
I think +1 to skills would be awesome if they limited it to maybe just amulet and rings. If they want you to be able to get a few more, then allow plus to skills to be on charms or maybe helmets, something like that.
I think it'd be great if at the end game you could get +5 to all skills if you got good items or something like that, but I agree it got out of hand in Diablo 2. I also think another way to combat it is to just give plus to specific skills, rather than to all skills.

Then Bashiok replied:
Do you guys think that means that in normal you may only be able to invest 5 skill points, in nightmare 10 and then in hell 20? Or do you think it means that the progression still may be 5, 10, 15... But then you may be able to add an additional 5 points by having + to your skill(s) on equipment?

Bash said that they were done with the Wizard armor in a recent post and that they weren't going back to it.
I believe they said the last thing that they were going to be working on was items if I am not mistaken.

I'm wondering if they are also done with all Barbarian and Witch Doctor armors as well, but still working on the Monk armors. (Considering none of the Monk stuff was shown off.)
You'd have to think we will be hearing a release date if three of the classes armor sets are completely done.

It looks a little silly to me, but I bet it looks a lot better from the view we will be seeing it in the game.
I have liked all of the other armor sets up until this one though.

I just realized that if Leoric is in the game and we are going to be fighting him, I assume we are going to be going into the EXACT same dungeon as we did in the original Diablo. I assume that since the King has been resurrected, so could the greatest monster in the history of Diablo (IMO), the Butcher.
What are the odds that they bring him back and try to use him as a big scare like the original did?

Not because I don't like the armor, just because I think it would be more entertaining that way.

If you have this many concerns about the game, then why do you even bother coming to read about it? If I saw a game where I said "Oh, I don't like the art style. I don't like the mechanics. Nothing is original. This game just isn't very good.", then I probably wouldn't continue to come to a website and read about the game.
You can come in and post "Why didn't they do this or make it look like this!" all that you want... In the end, that isn't going to change anything about the game, because most of it is already done.
To me you kind of come off as just trying to provoke because you are saying you don't like the direction they are taking with the game, yet you come and discuss it when it isn't even out yet. If you don't think it's going to be good, then stop paying attention to the game and don't buy it.
I can list a few things I am concerned about, I think everyone has their concerns... But if I could make a massive list of things I thought sucked or made me worried about the game... Then I probably wouldn't follow the game or purchase it when it came out.

I think the same thing could be said about the lower level in all games. If you look at other Blizzard games that feature armor like Diablo 2 and WoW, you would say that the lower level armor looks really bland and unimaginative.
I would actually be kind of upset if I was wearing things that looked really awesome at level 10-20. I think it's very important that items start out looking very normal and then gain size, color, graphics, etc. as they become more powerful and higher in level.
That's my opinion at least.
I would however be VERY upset if this was the Witch Doctor's high end set. That would be a pretty big let down.

I wonder if boots all have an alternative image for him where they look like little ankle braclets/coverings/armor.

I am assuming that sets (just like in Diablo 2) do not consume every single inventory slot or completely change the way your character looks when you are wearing all of the items.
So this could just by the Witchdoctor with the set items on, while still not having something on in the pants slot.
