New Diablo 3 Character Class: The Monk!
I'm still getting set up in the press room here guys, but thought you'd want to know! You heard it here on Diablofans first!
Update: The Monk is playable at BlizzCon!!!! It wasn't at first, but after the announcement, they made the character playable on all the computers in the convention center.
Update #2: The Cinematic Trailer and the Gameplay Trailer for The Monk are up on Youtube. Scroll down and you can check 'em out!
The screenshot came from a Korean-language version of the Diablo 3 site.
Here's the actual Cinematic Trailer for the Monk:

More news to come soon!
Just wait for the cluster!#@% that will ensue when the 5th / final class is announced, there will be people sobbing for days that (insert class they wanted) didn't make it or was implemented in another form, without giving the classes we are getting a chance.
Can't wait to see him in action. I'm expecting some cool martial arts moves..
You mean me? I wasn't directing any of that at you, specifically. Moreso at the people having complete tantrums, i.e., 'OMG NOOOO I WANT MY KNIIIIIGHT' without so much as seeing some gameplay.
You said 'Eh, not my thing.' That's cool. Barbarian has never been my thing. It's just how it is.
Damn this really has me in the mood to play some good old Diablo II. Any of you guys wanna add me my bnet is label636
Because it's going to happen during the panels, which I believe he said at the bottom of the last update. This isn't a panel, this is the opening ceremony.
Edit-
Correction: It will be the opening ceremony.
from the first moment I wanted the class MONK
Blizzard listened to my request when they put this class
I'm so excited. martial arts and mind control= win.
Yea, I'm a bit bummed. I was going to go do stuff until the D3 panel started, but now I'm F5 spamming every Blizz news site
Something like martial arts (hand to hand?) / hammer and mace based / archery... High emphasis on crits (dexterity).
IMO.
Not really. Witch Doctor fits in the diablo setting pretty easy and I thought the WD was awesome from day one. The only people complaining where those who wanted the Necro and felt threated that the class was replaced with the WD.
SO far all the classes have felt like natural fits to the game... except the Monk.
Seriously, there was so much to pick from, and they went Monk.
Interesting. The Divine skill tree hadn't crossed my mind.
I was thinking it would go something like
Body, Mind, and Soul - Passives ( weapon masteries, iron body type things)
Martial Arts - Tanking Offensive play type
Assassin - Skills for a more supportive offensive class type
Woah, posted too early
It should be. Look at the schedule Mockery posted here.
I really do not think any character will have a skill tree full of passives in this game considering every tree we have seen is already loaded with passives.
