Of course you have to choose your own gender, anything else would be wrong. It has been shown several times in studies that teenagers choosing to play characters with a different gender in video games often are uncertain of their own sexuallity.

This can in the long run lead to homosexuallity. Not that there is anything wrong with being gay, but it's worth thinking about. If you can reduce the risk of turning gay by just choosing to play the "right" characters, then so you should.
This is just rubbish. Do you have any sources or published studies to support such a claim. I highly doubt that any academics would even consider such an absurd research topic. In fact the opposite could be said: are people gay because they like to choose male characters to stare at all day?
    Quote from "Chavez" »

It's a lot deeper than that. People identify with the character of which they control. If they want to see their character as a different gender then clearly they have issues far beyond the ordinary.
This is also complete nonsense. Playing a female character does not mean you are trying to be the female character that you're playing. It's like watching a movie with a female lead, or writing a story where you have chosen the main character to be female. You're creating a character in a story. And sometimes it is more aesthetically pleasing and much cooler to have a strong female character than a generic male character.

Does anyone know in what way the Worldstone shields Sanctuary? Is it by hiding the location of Sanctuary or simply just preventing powerful beings like the Prime Evils and the Angiris Council from being in Sanctuary easily? If it's the first what would be the point of waiting until the Worldstone was destroyed to launch a mass invasion of Sanctuary, since both Heaven and Hell already know where it is? If it's the second, why were the angels and demons able to invade in the Sin War, and both Lucion and Lilith had no trouble staying in Sanctuary, same for the 3 Prime Evils before they were captured by the Horadrim?

I'll probably play a female character as a main. But eventually I'll get around to playing most classes with a mix of both genders.

My main on WoW is a lv70 human female lock, I also have a lv70 male troll warrior, and I can tell you for a fact that you don't get treated differently depending on the gender of your character.

Plus, its a lot cooler playing a kickass female.

I think that when Inarius sucked it`s power he altered it, or I may be wrong. Nonetheless I recall for sure that Inarius saw the alteration, it was like a core alteration(the very structure of the elements was changed) not like Inarius or Lilith.

And at the end, Mephisto and the Council make a deal about it but it`s not writen what it is. I assume that they altere it so the nephalem `s powers grow more slowly like before Lilith changed it.

And finaly some1 who thinks like me. Thje heroes in D2(and posibly in D1, or atleast the wanderer) are humans with growing nephalem powers.
Yeah, Uldyssian changed the very essence of the Worldstone, and even Inarius couldn't undo it.

I have a question about the Worldstone. In the 2nd Sin War book, Uldyssian changes it to give the nephelam more power, but it was never reversed even by the end of the 3rd book, so why has the Worldstone being draining their nephelam powers away?

    Quote from "cjc5814" »
As an assumption, I see Blizz trying to make the environment more of a factor in pvp where a ranged class could try to elevate themselves so a melee guy had to run around or maybe a slow movement area such as a bog where melee could catch snared runners.
I think that would just annoy people.

I really hope there will be open world PvP (PK), as well as some form of controlled PvP (some sort of arena system).

posted a message on Suggestion to blizz: On issue of the way D3 looks. It's Gothicity.
D2 isn't very gothic at all. Play the game again. I don't see how any of the outdoor areas of any of the Acts can be considered gothic, except maybe the Cathedral in Act 1.

posted a message on Blizzard Art Changes
Blizzard changes art all the time. For example, in the Burning Crusade beta, blood elves use to be very skinny, then they got beefed up. They also made orc shoulders smaller in some patch, and made tauren weapons smaller, which got so much QQ that both got reversed. They also recently in 2.3 or 2.4 (I forget) revamp all the character models to be less demanding to run.

But to get them to change art direction by an online petition... not going to happen.

posted a message on Not enough blood?
There's far more blood in the gameplay trailer than in D2. It's just that the blood decays quickly. However, what's disturbing is that when monsters are killed by a forceful attack, they seem to explode in balls of flesh, and a ribcage. The ribcage looks rather dorky seeing it fly off every monster slain in this way.

huh? i dont get it what is all this heaven vs. hell thing? im new here soo, can u be monsters in D3 kinda confuesd :S
The thread is asking, if in D3, you can choose between the two factions, Heaven and Hell (like how WoW is split into Alliance and Horde), which side would you choose.

However, we now know that you won't get to choose a side in D3, so the question is purely hypothetical.

    posted a message on Leah
By now I'm sure most of us agree her name is Leah.

She looks to be around 18 to 20. It's been 20 years since the destruction of the Worldstone. I doubt this is a coincidence

My theory is that she is the first of the new generation of Nephilim, born just after the destruction of the Worldstone.

From the picture of her with Cain in the art trailer, she also appears to be Cain's apprentice, and from the gameplay also his nursemaid. She's certainly not Cain's daughter. He's too old to have daughters now.

I'm sure she'll be a very important part in the story, and she's the first nice looking girl Blizzard has done from what I can remember. :P

There is no god (in the Diablo universe). The Angiris Council is the highest rank in Heaven.

I'd normally choose the evil side. But considering in the Diablo universe Heaven is far more interesting than Hell, I would choose Heaven.

It also helps that Tyrael is the coolest character ever.

I just finished Scales of the Serpent.

Can anyone clarify what Inarius did to Lilith at the end? Did he cast her back into the void? And did anyone find that final fight with Lilith at bit underwhelming, I'd except her to be more powerful.
