so many people are saying that we all should just trust blizzard because they always make a good game. well, in that sense I do trust them... im sure whatever comes out next year with the diablo title will be good and fun. however, what i think all of us "fanboys" are worried about is not that the game won't be good... its that the game just won't really be in tune with the diablo series.
sure there are different audiences now then there were 10 years ago, but blizzard can literally make any game it wants for every audience... this next, and hopefully best, installment to the diablo series should be a true diablo in all its glory. just enhanced and built upon, not changed or tampered with in any way.
but, the team making the game has changed and i guess so has the direction of this great series.

i trust blizzard to make a great game.. i just dont know if i trust that this game will be a true to the diablo series.

I think I would cry myself to sleep every night if blizzard lowered DIABLO 3 to teen instead of mature.... this is freakin the diablo series.. please dont cheapen the experience of its true fan base because you want it to be more suited for a wider audience.

the game is played mutually by both camps.... you guys play through your game, BUT every once in a while you might get PKd... its really very trivial and should be a non factor, but again, i guess getting Pkd once a day (probably average) is just way too annoying so we must remove all ability to do it.

just pointing out that you guys have not only been complaining about flaming but you have also often been the first ones to jump to insults.. even when replying to a perfectly calm and valid point someone has made.

for instance.. this is probably gonna get flamed.

my point here, btw, is that obviously it was not a coop game. it was ultimately a game for you to gear your char up and be the best out of the community. the story was so short, but we all played for 5+ years... why? to pvp/pk... and to farm for better gear to pvp/pk.

this thread isnt to be a flame fest... im merely pointing out the flaws in taking out a section of a game so obviously created for that very cause.

I pose this question to those who say D2 was mainly a coop game.

If D2 was meant to be a coop game.. then how come to whole game.. all the way through baal on hell diff... was soloable?

1. It's not a huge section; griefers are a small minority, as evidenced by their complaints that if there was an opt in/out system, no one would opt in to it.

If PKrs were such a small minority then you shouldn't have a problem with them keeping it right? No? Oh, wait.. isnt the problem that it is so rampant that it suposdly destroys peoples immersion in the game... thats not a minority my friend... obviously a good percentage, if not a majority actually liked PKing for it to be such a problem.

2. Fixing a broken mechanic is an upgrade as far as I'm concerned. It can also be considered as part of the upgrade to PvP in general, as I have no doubt there will be a more structured/polished PvP system in general.

First off, the mechanic was never broken.. in fact many or most people will agree that diablos PvP system was great until people started hacking.
Second of all, by your own token, if its not my authority to say whats real or fake pvp, then its not your authority to say whats good or bad pvp and thus can't make suggestions for upgrade.

In the story of Diablo 2, you're a hero trying to save Sanctuary, not someone looking to kill others trying to succeed at the same goal.

Actually the story of diablo 2 takes place after the original heros have been corrupted by diablo.. so.. in this world there ARE evil "heros"... PK fits into the story.

lol, you don't see your own hypocrisy...any rules add structure. Pairing off into teams adds structure.

i agree that i did propose a type of pvp that has some sort of structure... but its not structure that in any way hampers the actual act of PvPing. That argument was only hypocritical under the lens of someone looking for anything possible to shoot down someone elses argument.

Good for you, but I don't care. I'm not a WoW player, so such distinctions are meaningless to me.

yup.. they dont realize its a competitve game on the PvP side.. coop on PvE.. but in PvP it wasn't meant to be all brotherly love and cooperation in mutual fun. there are gonna be somethings you dont like in life people.
