    Strawman Argument #1:
Two-dimensional graphics have also always been a part of the game. This is the is-ought fallacy--just because something is (or was) a certain way doesn't mean it ought to be/stay that way.

Changing the graphics engine is an Upgrade to the game... changing the PvP system is a complete revamp or a huge section of the game... stupid strawman argument.

    Strawman Argument #2:
By that logic, real life is "kiddie BS" because there are laws against disturbing the peace.
This is a game in which we are immersed in a chaotic (spelled correctly this time just for you) world swarmming with hell beasts. For there to be structured PvP, like as there is in WoW, not only doesn't fit in the story, but ruins this game to some extent. WoW pvp is the most "kiddie" PvP i have ever played. Structured PvP is kiddie pvp.. i dont want rules on my PvP (griefing /hacking aside that is). Free for all murder fests are real PvP. 1 on 1's are also good, and team pvp.. but again, its kiddie pvp if it is structured.
You relating my argument of structured pvp as "kiddie PvP" in a supposedly chaotic virtual world, to being the same thing as me saying Real life is kiddie because there is structured laws is a stupid strawman argument.
I can go all day pointing out strawman arguments that the anti-PK camp constantly makes.. but those are 2 of yours.

There is another thread which already dealt with all this so I really dont wanna get worked up again and start defending PK.. especially not to you guys as it makes no difference what you think. If you give a damn about why PK should be in the game then check out that thread.

Other then that, i hope they divide us by realms because some of us like diablo as it was and as it was intended. Choas was the name of the game.. not structured kiddie BS.

    1. Yes. It's a part of the game. But not one that was expressly put in for people to be douches.

    2. Prance around in Blueby land? Pardon me, but what the fuck are you talking about?

    3. Playing co-op was a huge part of why D2 is still alive today. Because you can just hop on with your friend and do some MFing or Baal runs and have a good time.

    4. That's why people don't like playing PvP. Because idiots like you come in and kill. No questions, no remorse. If PvP is going to be in D3, it needs to be monitored and only in certain sections. Maybe they could have an arena where two guys could come in and duke it out and one emerges the victor, but killing people who did not want to PvP is not only ruining the game, it's making yourself look like an asshole.

    5. To be honest, I stopped playing on the realms when people like you started douching up the servers. I love the Diablo series, I just don't like the douches who feel the need to destroy and hinder while the community should be trying to foster growth and knowledge.

    6. If you want to never feel safe, go play in traffic or walk the streets of Detroit throwing up gang signs. As for me (and I'm sure a large majority of the Diablo fanbase), I only want to kill or be killed WHEN I ACTUALLY AGREE TO IT.

Dude.. your rediculous. Not only do you respond to a perfectly good argument with flaming and ludicrous ideas like playing in traffic = not feeling safe in a video game. But your also just plain wrong. There was nothing douchy about PKing, it was INTENDED to be part of this game. Im sorry that you were on the recieving end, but thats how the cookie crumbles.

Getting rid of something that amounts to nothing more than "bigger dick syndrome" or "see how many unsuspecting n00bs I can make cry" is just a smart move on Blizzard's part.

Allowing two warriors to test each other in the arena of battle is one thing, being a douche and killing people who had no intention of fighting you in the first place is another.

It doesnt amount to nothing.. im playing the game and thats part of the game man... i dont want to prance around in blueby land, only playing cooperativly with other people. Competition is a driving force of diablo and that is mostly achieved through PvP. Having only consensual pvp removes a huge feel to the game.

You must have not really liked the game if you didnt get a rush and a chill in your spine evry time someone came into the game and went hostile. Its that feeling that was a part of the game. the fear.

This is like saying allowing people to be mugged is okay because every once in a while someone will beat the crap out of their would-be mugger and foil them, and get a feeling of satisfaction from it.

Besides the obvious problem with that logic, there's also the fact that PKers would obviously always be built for PvP, with skills etc. set up for that explicit purpose. On the other hand, their victims rarely are. In the same way, few people are 'prepared' to deal with a mugger in real life. The end result is very rare 'fun' you describe, but a huge list of victims.

    Not worth it.

    =====NEXT POST=====

That's because you're exactly the kind of disruptive player that shouldn't be catered to. Your fun relies on ruining other players' fun, and this is why Blizzard isn't very likely to care what that kind of player wants when it comes to Diablo 3. Think about it--what does Blizzard have to gain by making the game fun for people like you, when that will directly cause the game to be less fun for everyone else? There are definitely a lot more 'victims' than there are griefers, so catering to griefers is not only illogical, but a bad business decision as well.

Thats the game man! Thats PART of Diablo! I chose to utilize part of the game that the developers PURPOSLY put in.
The only reason the idea of taking it out is being entertained is because not only is the core diablo team not even working on D3... but blizzard has been softened from years of working with the WoW crowed. And not to put the WoW people down.

Point of the matter, that the Anti-PK camp is just not understanding, is that PKing/PvP was as much a part of diablo as PvE was. Maybe not eveyone utilized this... but it was there and intricatly part of the game. That was the uniqueness of the Diablo game play. By listening to the complaints of people who didn't utilize it and removing this system you are effectivly removing a HUGE part of the game play experience from this series.
Now, this was always one of the best series... there really is no reason to change it because some people... even if it is a majority... don't like to be PKd and ONLY want the PvE experience.

To that i say, too bad! its part of the game and always has been wether you like it or not.

(thatll change tho because blizzard will listen to you guys and press the destruct button on one of their greatest games)

    Known fact?

    By whom?

What records do you have of this?

Unless you can provide charts/graphs or actual data, your argument is purely speculative.

The fact remains is that the community is split. Some people love playing against others, and some people simply detest the idea.

Well.. hopefully blizzard won't make me play with those who detest PvP by seperating us by servers. I mean, does anyone remember the ear full of childish crying every time you killed someone who didn't want to be killed. It was rediculous, haha... and strangely made me want to kill them more.

As far as I'm concerned, the lasting power for D2 was based upon the search for loot, trying new character permutations, and co-op-ing/rushing.

    Not PvP.

Personally, they could have gotten rid of PvP in D2 and I wouldn't have batted an eye.

Its a known fact that the MAIN reason people farmed for loot so damn much in D2 was to make their char better for PVP.

Hopefully with all the changes they are making with D3, the whiners crying about not being able to PK will find D3 not their game...GOOD. Go play something else (can't think of what else since most games actually require some skills, and we all know you losers can't handle FPS games).

Less morons and losers in D3, the better. I like how this game is shaping up. Bye, good riddance, cya, adios, enjoy playing D2 in 5 years lol

Thats right... lets make diablo like every other game out there because you could never handle the heat of PK.
The Diablo PvP system was never broken (before hacking, obviously hacking destroyed a good thing), so why fix it. Oh thats right, because while your saying the people who want to keep PK are crying.. its in fact the crying of people like you over multiple years of getting owned in game that forced Blizzards hand to change a good thing in the first place.

Gogo generic game pvp for the protection of weak players.

posted a message on Battle.Net Auction House
I like the idea of an Auction House. However, the WoW type Auction House would not work in D3 because there is no real economy in the diablo series... SoJs mean mroe then gold.

Thats why I present to you the idea of a Barter House. An area, which can be implimented into the game however Blizzard sees fit, in which Items can be put up for sale/auction for gold and/or other items. The way this would work is every tiem someone enters an item, that item is then recorded in a data base and saved even after the item has been traded. This data base is always accessible to players via a window in the Barter House and when you would like to trade an item for another item you simply open the data base up, search for the item you would like, find it and click a link which then links the item to your auction.
For instance, you want to trade Sword A for 5xRing B. You put Sword A up in the barter house and in the auction creation window you have a both a gold section and an item section. You click the brows database link in the item section. Search for Ring B. Find it and link it to your Auction and put in the you want ringb x5. And create the auction.

I dont know what it is... but every time I see one of these threads on PK being dropped I get all misty eyed because I think of how Blizzard is ruining the unique PvP style of an epic game which helped to make it so great. They are doing this all because they have been influenced way too much by the 9 year old - 15 year old majority that play WoW (their #1 game) and would rather see parts of that game implimented in a completely different and unique game.

All these threads are the same as well.... their are 3 camps basically.
Camp1: Anti PK people who just want to "play the game" which is a rather Ironic statement because in the first two installments of this game PK/PvP was such a large part and so thoroughly implimented in the game that to engage in PvP/PK was literally part of "playing the game". It was part of playing the game even in a PvE sense because you often had to battle for your right to PvE in a certain area and winner took all.

Camp 2: Pro PK people who truely understand that, hey man, PK is just part of THIS game. This game isn't WoW or any other RPG that impliments PvP/PK in some other way.. this is Diablo and this style of PvP/PK helps to define this games uniqueness.. and that should never be comprimised. Us pro PKs don't have to necissarily be good at PvP/PK (even though I like to think im good.. very good =) to LOVE it and what it did to set Diablo apart from other games.

Camp 3: Ambiguouse PK people who don't really care and/or don't really remember how the previouse diablos were or what the end result of D3 will be.. they just wanna play any game thats thrown at them.

I hope for the integrity of this game that BLizzard doesn't cave to the anti-pk side because no matter how annoyed some people are, or what the majority says.. this is diablo, always has been, always should be.

    P.S.
This is all a moot point ebcause Blizzard has already stated that they are all of a sudden against the PvP/PK system that they themselves created and used to promote.
