Actually, having players come up with ideas for a weird item as loot might be more relevant regarding how much of an item-game Diablo is and all =D

I can see it now ... "Wirts Other Leg" - +95% chance villagers will be creeped out by you. Effect works while wirts other leg is in your backpack

    lol

well I'm sure theres something cool someone would come up with

lol, in fact, it should be Wirts fourth leg since the 3rd leg was in WoW :D

I was just thinking of this right now and didn't want to start a topic of it but if you guys think it could be a great idea, you could jsut make a topic with it.

So here it is. Since diablofans.com IS the biggest diablo III fan site around, I thought it could be cool, that Blizzard could give the community a chance to participate to the development. Something like:

The creation of a monster : Everyone just post what he think could be great for a monster, how it could look, how it could move, attack, where we could find this mob. And Blizzard could choose to integrate it to the game. 1 mob for the whole community, i am sure that community would just go buy Diablo III to see the monster they put their ideas on walking in the sanctuary. Personaly I think that would be great and I would love to see "my" monster in the game. Not sure if Blizzard would play the game... but could be a very great little game.

they probably have act 2 playable by now. Bastards need to hurry up i want to play dis biotch..

That of course if they developed the content by following the story. They could probably do the first act last if they wanted. To put more work on the last. Because seriously, I would prefer seeing a boring act 1 than a bad last act. Anyway, for where they are now. I think every act are simultanetly being developed. Cause there's alot of work in each acts, but a 2d concept artist isn't going to be working on the same stuff than the post FX one at the same time. What a character modeler did 2 months ago is probably being animated and integrated by now. Stuff needs to get done fast so nobody can wait for others to finish stuff to move on to another act or another part of the game.

posted a message on Bashiok Says: No Mana/Health Leech
Yeah, for the first time I am wondering what is Blizzard thinking. I know its possible, even in D2 to live without any leech. But I tihnk it was a great aspect. Choosing to wear leeching item instead of boosting your stam and energy. Put your offensive skills on top to keep you alive. It was great.

But since they said it was about balance issues. I don't really care, I prefer seeing thing not coming back then coming back with the wrong approach.

What kind of racism is that? I can't enter in this contest because I am from Quebec? The distance is not even the issue here. It's just because we are french? WTF is up with that? Its clearly racism here. We aren't any farther than Ontario or any other province. What could possibly put Quebec out of the contest else than for its language?!

Not sure about MMO team play style bosses, heard something about comparisons to Legend of Zelda though, also need to factor in Single Player. And a lone Barbarian Single Player at that.

What I love about MMO style boss is that is not just like an harder mob. Like in D2. Except for Duriel, all the end-act boss are a bit just like a damn Hero with immune to something, lightning enchanted, stone skin and extra strong, you know, those hero you like die 6 times before been able to kill it... I hope Blizzard will find a way to put end Bosses a bit more interesting. Phases are cool, Environment triggering could be great too. Cause Basicly, I thought that Diablo in D2 is a bit 2 easy to be the lord of Terror. (I might say to SIMPLE rather than to EASY).

posted a message on MTV - Necromancer May Return, Diablo 3 Expansion Confirmed?
Good news indeed, I liked the Necro, wasn't my favorite class but the fact that you could just summon stuff and watch the show from way behind was a great game mechanic. Saying that I would like every class to be back in D3 wouldn't fit. I would prefer to discover a whole new and unique class than just playing the same old class with same skills. If the necro is back, I bet there will be no Bone Walls. Simply because it's much more fun for a game developper to create than imitate. And I think everyone, when they will open their D3 box will enjoy the new classes. 10 years without any change made with the class in Diablo just make the changes harder to take. But when everyone will be used to it, they will love how stuff changed, how new stuff came out and old stuff been replaced. My-2-cents.

BTW zombie wall is funny has hell. I will give it a shot for sure

posted a message on Should D3 Have "Achievements"?
    Quote from "Halo" »
Well Bisso, I believe its referring to personal achievements, unless other players can see your achievements I think its mostly for your own sense of self accomplishment. I doubt Blizzard is thinking of people showing others their achievements to inflate their egos. I don't think they are for competition either, I believe its merely more goals to aim for which I think is a good idea. Most likely you wont even notice them until you get one or you are purposefully trying to get one, it will probably be like, "Hey, I just got the achievement of decapitating 1000 zombies, sweet." Not, "Hey look this guy has more achievements than me he's better than me at the game."

If it's gonna be like you say, it will probably be alright. But refering to Blizzard Announcement on WOTLK site, this is something other players will be able to see. A bit like PVP ranking, etc..

posted a message on Should D3 Have "Achievements"?
Its a dumb idea. REALLLYYYY DUMB. Why would I want people to know about my experience on other games than the one I currently play. I mean. In WHAT REAL occasion will people want to know which level I reached in WoW or how much win I got in ladders in SC2. The only reason I see that could probably be of some use is for Blizzard to select their beta testers. Like, okay guys, if you are good and lifeless in all of our games, you might have a chance to play the beta test. I think it is LAME. Since WoW is getting so stupid about all the competition since WoW is the worst game to support competition. Gear fight, soooo cooooolll... When I saw the achievement announcment in WOTLK, I was like. Okay this is lame, yet another reason Blizzard found out to keep their addicted junkies with them. Now I see they want to spread this addiction sickness over all their games. The worst move Blizzard could have done. Nybody here ever wanted to play a game for themselves? Now it's all about how you look to the eyes of other. That's aint a %$"/$ game anymore...

BTW, Im not a Blizzard hater. I love Blizzard work, I played every games, and I played WoW ALOT. But I think Blizz starts (since Burning Crusade) to do stuff a game company shouldnt deal with. All their new, drug dealers strategy to sale more WoW accounts and now this achievement crap. That's getting too far... And since it's just a video game, nobody seems to see this.

posted a message on Diablo III Producer Justifies Controversial Art Direction: Color Is Your Friend
I think people needs to open their mind a little bit. "ITS CARTOONISH". <-- WTF are you talking about!!!! Go get some lessons about art and you will notice it's nothing about Cartoons.

Sorry but I can't remember seeing something look like this in the video.

What people SHOULD say is that graphic approach CHANGED. Of course it changed, nobody can deny that. You may like it or not, it still NO DAMN CARTOON.

Personaly I think it's just fine how it is. dungeons may look a little bit more "dirty" but I think the color are just perfect

    -Barbarian
    -WitchDoctor
-Paladin (sorry but this class is just badass, and having a fighter of the light sounds just normal)
-Elemental Druid/Sorc (They need at least 1 caster that shoot frost/fire/lightning)
-Warlock (could be great, something a bit... evil)

I don't share that view... I think DI > DII...

Even if DI is a classic you would go play back to DI right now, you wouldnt reach The Butcher yet you would be pissed of how old this game got!
I have to go on DII. Even if the game is soooo repeatable, it was fun to see again and again the same zones. But in DI, After you saw 2 level of the caves you were finding the time long.......

posted a message on I hope Diablo III is better than Diablo II
I totaly agree with you for the Skill part. Personaly, I had fun searching for the best build (myself) for my characters but I can understand how it could be if I wouldn't really care that much and would have put some points on useless skills and later I would have regret it.

For the second part, I totaly disagree with you :D. You are trying to compare a Hack n' slash game and a Online RPG. Diablo was not a RPG, clearly not. And it never intended to be one. And Final Fantasy XI should be compared to WoW, not Diablo Serie. Cause in WoW, you can change drasticly your spec, of course you do not switch your class. If you rolled a warrior, you cannot become a mage by exemple. But talent and gear builds are so well done no warrior looks perfectly the same.

Back to Diablo. I REALLY wish they do something about this skill tree problem. I think they should look around the other games and see how, like even in WoW, every skills and talents are useful in some way. And of course, Blizz should make it possible to take out points previously put in the talent tree. But I think they will do it, it probably already a goal for them. I hated to have 3 different Sorc for MFing, Hydras and nova (exemple)
