According to this moderately theorycraft-y guide, pets do not double dip from BBV. You as the Witch Doctor must stand in the area of effect for the pets to gain the (inherited) benefit.
Granted, I did not watch the video to see if he provided proof for the double-dip theory, rather than just saying something of the effect of "we're both standing in it so it must be boosting me, which boosts them, and then boosts them again" /etc. If someone can indicate that he did provide that proof... then by all means. I apologize that I am not in much of a video watching mood at the moment. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Wish Blizzard would go back and wipe out their older posts with the (now) conflicting information. This one can be tough to find sometimes...

Interesting idea, but it couldn't be nearly as creatively limitless as it is for those games. You obviously couldn't decide things like elite density, drop rates, etc. At best you'd just be able to make a map layout, and even that could be a stretch as people would just make super simple ones to maximize their "efficiency", and even then it surely wouldn't be allowed "rift level" drop chances, so nobody would actually play them, efficient or not.
Maybe if it was for an entirely separate set of characters or something for that mode it could be opened up, but people would just make maps that give them full legendary sets in 10 minutes of farming and that mode would quickly become stale, with no goals to strive for. I don't see it fitting diablo really, though if Blizzard had infinite time and resources it could be a fun thing to play with.

But the treasure realm one is very cool. Surprised they didn't change the spelling of Lannister, would have thought both would be off-limits.

I like gold having a purpose, otherwise it will just turn into what it was in Diablo 2. At which point it might as well just not exist. If gold isn't a limiting factor in perfecting gear then there isn't really anything else meaningful enough for it to exist for.

1 in 27 goblins, even 1 in 50 is pretty damn common to get 100-200 million + gold out of it. Especially since people will amass gold find sets for this, seeing as how much of the gold seems to be just out of breakables, there's no risk to wearing shitty gear until you reach the end boss. Gold would quickly become very nearly meaningless if it remained this way.

Can't see that total going live though, unless finding the place is absurdly rare.

You should have plenty of time to finish your build and get sick of it before the patch launches and you can try new stuff. Though... perhaps not if you've been doing it since RoS launch. Maybe you should try new things now, that's a long time to be doing the same build.

Yeah, I've got a good number of points spent in gold find. It's kind of nice, actually..
