Well if there was a 10% difference between multi and single it would be beneficial to play in groups but anyone playing by themself wouldn't be at too much loss. Right now it's what... 500%? 1000% when zdpsing?

Replace 3% with any other %, lets say 20, and grift 50 is like a trial for you. How do you think people at the strict top beat the highest possible grifts? They have items and skill that much better? Not really, I mean, ofc someone in the top 10 has to have great skill, but they fish for the best possible rift so many times that their winrate is like 2%. So how can you say that level of grift isn't for them. The highest levels people achieve are for noone and can only be beaten by fishing... And how can you say 'go level up gems' if you can level up gems only by beating higher lv grifts, haha ^^

An example. After 30 tries a player managed to finish a grift 50 on his witch doctor. Now he wants to try something more difficult, grift 51. How many tries will it take? Well, first he has to earn his 51 keys, and he already has a 3% win rate there, so my guess is ~1500. What is the solution to this problem, which could (I'm not saying it would, hate trials, but could) become even more frustrating than trials? Let the players choose a rift they completed+1, not just the one they completed.

And it only took them 8 months!

These are some interesting and quality changes. But I really, really hoped for a change in the trial system, without it the only thing I can do is farm more as I can't stand doing higher lv trials in the amount needed to accomplish higher grifts.

Well it's enough time for a season imo. The problem is not that seasons are too short to find an ancient furnace, but that you absolutely need to find it to compete with other players. And I guess we won't have trials removed in this patch. A shame, it's the only change I actually hoped for.

Best changes, I spent tens of thousands shards during last few weeks and finally rolled an ancient Tal Rasha source, just for it to be modified with 25% meteor dmg now ^^

There was another thing - progress globes in normal rifts. I thought 'hey that's nice, killing elites will be more rewarding now for any player, good idea blizzard ^^'. Yup, a bug too.

You are right in some parts and wrong in some. I wasn't in the top 50, I was ~70 on the wizard leaderboard in the first era but I got there in a legit way, so I really know how much time you have to spend just to get the keys. I'm not saying they should remove trials alltogether because clearly they don't want to. But the trials are: unfair (for example I have to do them on my DH instead of any other character because he deals with them much much better), time consuming (you spend a few minutes just to get a single key to a rift you will probably leave because you NEED a great rift to finish it, no other way, winged assasin elites? leave. bad layout? leave, no reason to spend so much time with no chance of succeeding), not rewarding (you only receive a little amount of experience and gold for each trial, that is useless) and require a party for higher keys (you will never get a key as high solo as with a group, that means that people who don't like playing with a group have a disadvantage in solo rifts just because they can't get high keys by themselves). The only reason I know because of which they don't want to change trials is because they are ufesul for assessing strength of public parties. Why would you not want to have a possibility of earning multiple keys at once and how the hell is it not competing? If i can reach f.e. key 48 consistently, why can I not do this in a single try instead of multiple chores? Because trials are exactly that, a chore, not fun nor competitive play. What you said, "lemme skip this because I wanna compete without having to put time in it". is completely false because the way to compete is doing greater rifts, not trials. If for every rift you take there are a few minutes of doing a useless trial something is wrong and I do not see it as a feature by any means.

Yes, that's very smart. Forcing players to switch characters and throw keystones on the ground because they won't change how trials work and they consume so much time it's not even funny. Really, why can't they at least let us use 10 or so keystones at once? This is the worst part of Diablo 3 right now in my opinion.

I know discerning between a moronic idea and a troll is hard sometimes, but I bet my lunch this one is the second case. My favourite idea-to-be-implemented is capping paragon to 800 in grifts, I think it would actually solve or improve a few aspects of the game, botting included (this one gets an 'improve', it definitely wouldn't remove botting completely, as long as there is any sense in letting a bot do something for them, people will do it).
0
I think the best idea presented is the ony with PL cap in grifts only. Plvl of 800 is not that hard to obtain, and that would allow people who go to school/have a job to compete on the leaderboards if they have the skill and items needed to do so. And still gaining exp would be rewarded, just not in grifts.

Well, lately I experience some weird type of lag, too. Today I almost finished a highest grift I can open, but experienced lots of latency jumps and in the end my game was terminated. I've never seen this announcement before.
0
I have latency problems as well. I stopped playing at the start of season 3, tried to play now, but my latency is never below ~120, and jumps much higher from time to time (and often feels much higher than 120). I've never had this problem in Diablo before (it was 60-70) and I don't have this problem in any other game, neither does my internet test show any high pings.

Collect blood shards, try to find a furnace from Kadala (does not have to be an ancient one), do T7 bounties to find lots of mats and try reforging your furnace to get an ancient one. This way is probably the easiest&fastest one.

Tbh what I would really like are 54-55 ^^ I don't have much time to play but in previous eras I managed to get top 100 and wanted to keep it that way in this era as well, but then I needed a 46-47 key, which I could easily get on my dh, not 54... If what you say is correct (and I think it is) the only way to get them is playing in a group, and I don't like doing so, so I guess I won't be going for the higher rifts until they change trial system.
0
Hey, I've got a question. What do you think is the best trial spec for wizards right now? I really, really hate trials and they are much worse than being at work, but before some nice grifts doing at least some trials is inevitable. In the previous eras I used to do trials on my dh because of extreme power difference, wizard got boosted a lot in this patch and is very powerful so it may be the other way around now. But I'm not sure which spec will suit trials best, meteor lure, usual hydra tal rasha, or something else. Anyone wants to share some experience and/or ideas? And please, no 'go play in a group' responses, I play solo and almost none of my friends play diablo anymore (I play only from time to time, too).

I'll tell you. Let's say you have 20% ele dmg from bracers, 400 chd and 50% crit chance. If you roll ele dmg on your amulet your overall dmg goes from 120 to 140% and it's a 20/120 = 16.66% increase. If you roll 100 chd it goes from 100%+(400%*50%)=300% to 100+(500*50)=350%. The increase is exactly the same in this scenario (50/300). With less elemental dmg or lower difference between chd and chc, elemental dmg would be better. I would probably go for chd anyway, it's really good on amulets.

RCR is great for M6 and I think it's quite fine for UE, too, but for UE you want a bow or 1h xbow, especially calamity or kridershot. Didn't play UE too much though so I'm not a specialist
0
M6 is weaker than UE now. Still, for UE I would probably change cdr to 7% attack speed, not +3 disc.
0
I would probably roll hatred regen to attack speed for UE or rcr for M6. I have an ancient calamity too, tried playing M6 with it but to be honest the outcome wasn't as satysfying as I thought it's going to be and I prefer playing with a 2h xbow instead, which sucks because calamity is so nice. Surely in a group setup calamity is miles ahead and it's easier to keep taeguk stacks and dodge with stepping when playing with calamity, but I felt my damage is lower, not sure if it's true. But surely at least for trials I checked times and had much better results with arcane barb than with calamity.

How did you not have problems with reflect in marauder? On higher rifts I die almost instantly if I even touch a pack with reflect on.

Ye, I know, just kidding. But I really wonder what type of system they want to implement.

'We are going to remove trials.'
99% of the community: Yeah! At last! (btw how come that removing trials from the game is so much more exciting than devs adding something to it?)
'But now whenever you start a greater rift it will start from lv1 and only advance one level at a time. We think this solution will help the system judge the player skills in a better way and also appreciate the skill needed to advance to higher levels.'
community: Wait what.

I really, really really hoped for this in 2.2. I wanted to do some high grifts with the new wizard and dh sets but I can't stand doing the higher trials, this game is supposed to be something I do after work and not be worse than work itself. Trials are so terrible it hurts even talking about them and how they didn't change them for what, like 8 months till now? So basically a year because 2.3 won't be coming for at least 4 months. But of course better late than never.
