Well if there was a 10% difference between multi and single it would be beneficial to play in groups but anyone playing by themself wouldn't be at too much loss. Right now it's what... 500%? 1000% when zdpsing?

Replace 3% with any other %, lets say 20, and grift 50 is like a trial for you. How do you think people at the strict top beat the highest possible grifts? They have items and skill that much better? Not really, I mean, ofc someone in the top 10 has to have great skill, but they fish for the best possible rift so many times that their winrate is like 2%. So how can you say that level of grift isn't for them. The highest levels people achieve are for noone and can only be beaten by fishing... And how can you say 'go level up gems' if you can level up gems only by beating higher lv grifts, haha ^^

An example. After 30 tries a player managed to finish a grift 50 on his witch doctor. Now he wants to try something more difficult, grift 51. How many tries will it take? Well, first he has to earn his 51 keys, and he already has a 3% win rate there, so my guess is ~1500. What is the solution to this problem, which could (I'm not saying it would, hate trials, but could) become even more frustrating than trials? Let the players choose a rift they completed+1, not just the one they completed.

And it only took them 8 months!

These are some interesting and quality changes. But I really, really hoped for a change in the trial system, without it the only thing I can do is farm more as I can't stand doing higher lv trials in the amount needed to accomplish higher grifts.

Well it's enough time for a season imo. The problem is not that seasons are too short to find an ancient furnace, but that you absolutely need to find it to compete with other players. And I guess we won't have trials removed in this patch. A shame, it's the only change I actually hoped for.

Best changes, I spent tens of thousands shards during last few weeks and finally rolled an ancient Tal Rasha source, just for it to be modified with 25% meteor dmg now ^^

There was another thing - progress globes in normal rifts. I thought 'hey that's nice, killing elites will be more rewarding now for any player, good idea blizzard ^^'. Yup, a bug too.

You are right in some parts and wrong in some. I wasn't in the top 50, I was ~70 on the wizard leaderboard in the first era but I got there in a legit way, so I really know how much time you have to spend just to get the keys. I'm not saying they should remove trials alltogether because clearly they don't want to. But the trials are: unfair (for example I have to do them on my DH instead of any other character because he deals with them much much better), time consuming (you spend a few minutes just to get a single key to a rift you will probably leave because you NEED a great rift to finish it, no other way, winged assasin elites? leave. bad layout? leave, no reason to spend so much time with no chance of succeeding), not rewarding (you only receive a little amount of experience and gold for each trial, that is useless) and require a party for higher keys (you will never get a key as high solo as with a group, that means that people who don't like playing with a group have a disadvantage in solo rifts just because they can't get high keys by themselves). The only reason I know because of which they don't want to change trials is because they are ufesul for assessing strength of public parties. Why would you not want to have a possibility of earning multiple keys at once and how the hell is it not competing? If i can reach f.e. key 48 consistently, why can I not do this in a single try instead of multiple chores? Because trials are exactly that, a chore, not fun nor competitive play. What you said, "lemme skip this because I wanna compete without having to put time in it". is completely false because the way to compete is doing greater rifts, not trials. If for every rift you take there are a few minutes of doing a useless trial something is wrong and I do not see it as a feature by any means.

Yes, that's very smart. Forcing players to switch characters and throw keystones on the ground because they won't change how trials work and they consume so much time it's not even funny. Really, why can't they at least let us use 10 or so keystones at once? This is the worst part of Diablo 3 right now in my opinion.

True, D3 is the only game in which I experience real dps drops, even when playing solo. If it really is a bandwith problem, I wonder if they couldn't fix it a bit by reducing all the dmg by a factor of 1000, considerably reducing the amount of bits required to write such a number (I'm not sure if they could change the number type, though), even if it didn't help with that problem at all, I certainly would welcome such a change as the numbers found in the game right now are a bit ridiculous (70 lv grift RG hp - 11 trilion, cmon...).

There was a post about them being removed I think. But of course one of the best features coming in the new patch happened to be a bug ^^ I didn't see any other posts about this topic. And to the posts above, saying that what that barb did is an exploit is just plain ridiculous and if it's being removed than blizzard finally understood it's a stupid thing, not them realizing it's an exploit. Maybe now make a thread about banning people who use new game mechanics to spawn pylons...

You (and I, after spending tens of thousands of shards to find an ancient one ) will have to find a new source for it to have the new, absolutely mandatory, affix.

From what I know none of the passive spells work with 6th piece of Tal Rasha, only active spells. With 700% dmg boost Hydras dmg is (would be if the bug is going to be fixed) insane, it's 330 wpn dmg/s for every river and they stack. With Serpents Sparker and let's say 2 aps hydra, your dmg from hydras alone is 330 wpn dmg * 2 hydras * 2 rivers per second * 5 seconds that each river lasts *(1+7) from tal rasha = 52800 wpn dmg/s if your opponent is not moving, from hydras without any buffs other than tal rasha. Obviously moving foes and buff uptime, lower aps etc is gonna decrease the overall hydra damage, but it still won't be anywhere near mediocre. So the overall dmg lost is much more than 5%, too. Of course only mammoth hydra counts as it's op compared to the other options.

Heart Slaughter is better but I don't think it's way better. The fire chain from maximus is very nice but physical barb build is just better. And to the poster above me, reading 'I abandoned my barb in 2.1.2 as it sucked utter balls compared to any other class in-game' made my day, cogratulations, man.

Why joking? It's not like everybody has to be a pro and know a lot about this game. If he asked a question it probably means he does not know and needs an answer, it's as simple as that. The answer is, as people have already said: The Stone of Jordan is much much better than the other ring.

Could you elaborate on why he is wrong? It is in fact on average a 40-50% dmg boost even in tal rasha. An elemental bonus is good because we don't want elemental dmg on gear as we use all elements (having your highest element (fire) will probably still be beneficial though, so this sentence may not be true). The blizzcon ring is not as awesome as broken promises or f/r, but with some proper skill management I think it could be pretty good, especially because the bonus is a secondary property.

Well it depends. If you're going to use this only with firebird - rcr is basically useless, reroll it to dmg. BUT this weapon is probably going to be bis with tal rasha, too. The best build for tal rasha I've seen up till now uses no skills with long cd, so cdr is useless in it. Rcr on the other hand makes you use less resource so you have a higher dmg bonus from focus/restraint set. The difference is not big (f.e. energy twister costs 35, it will cost 31.5, so as long as you are regenerating arcane power, you are 3.5 ap behind. with 100 ap it's 3.5% of your resource, which means 5 of the 150 bonus. 5/250 = 2%), but it is there. It's even less when you have a larger AP pool, AP regen, or more sources of rcr, but it exists. This actually is correct for firebird as well if you're gonna use focus/restraint with it (even more as blizzard is cast often and it costs a lot of ap). Tldr: as long as you're not at full resource in tal rasha, this rcr gives you a little damage boost compared to cdr. My opinion: I would wait till the patch hits to see if anything is changed and what build you are going to run. If you need this weapon right now, reroll rcr to 10% dmg. If not - wait.

Wow, ShadyW, you are a really rude person. Of course noone can tell him when he's going to find one, they can only tell him the probability of finding it after spending x amount of shards, but everyone knows that so you add absolutely nothing to the thread. As it's already been stated, OP, the chance of getting an ancient furnace is really low. Is it worthwile? You decide where the threshold of 'worthwileness' is, certainly if it's the only item you need in the entire game there is no better way of spending shards,

Oh, right, completely forgot about staves. That's gonna be much more than 520k then.

Immunity is the only way to not die in higher grifts if only you get hit by basically anything. I'm all for changing affixes in a such a way that it'd be possible to dodge them (a jailer missile, frozen dealing very little damage at start but increasing expotentially, no first tick for thunderstorm etc), the way they want to do it now is not that bad but the problem is that if immunity skills don't go off cooldown when active, WD is going to be even worse than he is. Spirit Walk is very important in Jade build and I can't see how they are supposed to work after this change.
1
Well, let's assume you are trying to find it on a wizard. There are I think 18 two handed weapons in the game that you can find on a wizard. The Furnace is one of them but drops 4x less (they buffed it from 10x) than the other ones. The chance of getting it when finding a legendary two-handed weapon is ~1.45%. After spending 750 shards you will have on average one legendary two-handed weapon. This means that on average you will have to spend 51.700 shards to find a furnace and 517.000 to find an ancient one (just ancient, doesn't really mean it has to be good). With a fast rate of farming (let's say 15 rifts per hour, 2 of them have shard goblins), you earn ~2000 shards every hour, so on average you will find an ancient furnace through gambling if you spend 258.5 hours farming T6 nephalem rifts non-stop. It's not an extremely high number, but I think after 11 days of rifting I would go nuts.

Well.. Sorry to break your hopes and dreams but an ancient devastator easily beats a non ancient serpent sparker in a firebird setup. Reroll the socket on devastator for 10% dmg and use gift or craft devastators until you get an even better one.

I did 45 on live and it certainly was not easy and much much more difficult than what I can see on your video ^^ 44 is not easy either, wth that grift lv complete you must have been in the top 150 or so players in EU. Thanks for testing, there is also another idea that I thought about and you can try it if you wish. Broken Promises + SoJ or Unity. Pet attacks count towards broken promises buff, if we replaced all the crit chance for another stats we would get a real boost in survivability and attack speed for hydras. From what I've read DoT also counts towards the counter so it would basically mean 100% crit all the time as the dots can't crit but cc is counted into their dmg. That would more than double dmg output of a fire wizard if I'm not wrong.

If pet attacks etc work with this ring it's gonna be extremely powerful. Wow. Didn't expect that it's going to work this way.
