Well if there was a 10% difference between multi and single it would be beneficial to play in groups but anyone playing by themself wouldn't be at too much loss. Right now it's what... 500%? 1000% when zdpsing?

Replace 3% with any other %, lets say 20, and grift 50 is like a trial for you. How do you think people at the strict top beat the highest possible grifts? They have items and skill that much better? Not really, I mean, ofc someone in the top 10 has to have great skill, but they fish for the best possible rift so many times that their winrate is like 2%. So how can you say that level of grift isn't for them. The highest levels people achieve are for noone and can only be beaten by fishing... And how can you say 'go level up gems' if you can level up gems only by beating higher lv grifts, haha ^^

An example. After 30 tries a player managed to finish a grift 50 on his witch doctor. Now he wants to try something more difficult, grift 51. How many tries will it take? Well, first he has to earn his 51 keys, and he already has a 3% win rate there, so my guess is ~1500. What is the solution to this problem, which could (I'm not saying it would, hate trials, but could) become even more frustrating than trials? Let the players choose a rift they completed+1, not just the one they completed.

These are some interesting and quality changes. But I really, really hoped for a change in the trial system, without it the only thing I can do is farm more as I can't stand doing higher lv trials in the amount needed to accomplish higher grifts.

Well it's enough time for a season imo. The problem is not that seasons are too short to find an ancient furnace, but that you absolutely need to find it to compete with other players. And I guess we won't have trials removed in this patch. A shame, it's the only change I actually hoped for.

Best changes, I spent tens of thousands shards during last few weeks and finally rolled an ancient Tal Rasha source, just for it to be modified with 25% meteor dmg now ^^

There was another thing - progress globes in normal rifts. I thought 'hey that's nice, killing elites will be more rewarding now for any player, good idea blizzard ^^'. Yup, a bug too.

You are right in some parts and wrong in some. I wasn't in the top 50, I was ~70 on the wizard leaderboard in the first era but I got there in a legit way, so I really know how much time you have to spend just to get the keys. I'm not saying they should remove trials alltogether because clearly they don't want to. But the trials are: unfair (for example I have to do them on my DH instead of any other character because he deals with them much much better), time consuming (you spend a few minutes just to get a single key to a rift you will probably leave because you NEED a great rift to finish it, no other way, winged assasin elites? leave. bad layout? leave, no reason to spend so much time with no chance of succeeding), not rewarding (you only receive a little amount of experience and gold for each trial, that is useless) and require a party for higher keys (you will never get a key as high solo as with a group, that means that people who don't like playing with a group have a disadvantage in solo rifts just because they can't get high keys by themselves). The only reason I know because of which they don't want to change trials is because they are ufesul for assessing strength of public parties. Why would you not want to have a possibility of earning multiple keys at once and how the hell is it not competing? If i can reach f.e. key 48 consistently, why can I not do this in a single try instead of multiple chores? Because trials are exactly that, a chore, not fun nor competitive play. What you said, "lemme skip this because I wanna compete without having to put time in it". is completely false because the way to compete is doing greater rifts, not trials. If for every rift you take there are a few minutes of doing a useless trial something is wrong and I do not see it as a feature by any means.

Yes, that's very smart. Forcing players to switch characters and throw keystones on the ground because they won't change how trials work and they consume so much time it's not even funny. Really, why can't they at least let us use 10 or so keystones at once? This is the worst part of Diablo 3 right now in my opinion.

There is no reason to play arcane hydra over mammoth hydra and black hole has too long cooldown to be used in tal rasha build.

Ye, Vyr is terrible A shame though, archon is interesting, but nevermind. Tbh I don't think the change to 4-set firebird is a buff, I'd much rather have that 500 intelligence instead, no way am I gonna use a primary skill in a firebird build as the only one viable is mm conflagrate and it requires mirrorball to work. What I mean is that on normal server I couldn't reach 49 with firebird but I managed to reach 45 last era, struggling with 34 is not what comes to mind when talking about this set If you could check how well it works with those rings and report it would be nice ^^

Ok I realised one thing. Have you maybe tried normal firebird build with restraint/focus instead of soj/unity? And if not, can you do it and post the results? I'm wondering whether it's the tal rasha set that is so powerful right now or are we under false impression because of how powerful the new ring set is.
0
Yes. I did a 45 grift in the first era with an ancient sparker which didn't even roll dmg%. A well rolled sparker may even be the bis weapon for firebird wizards.
0
Ok, thanks Bagstone, the 2s one won't be too good, but 3s may be really awesome. @Autochton that's almost exactly what I wrote 5 posts above I think it may be really good in a DH M6 build but we'll see. Right now focus+restraint probably beat everything else, the 150% bonus will probably be changed. If it isn't - I'm happy with the rings I've got in stash ^^ As set items they are going to be changed retroactively I guess.

Does anyone know what the time range on Broken Promises is? I mean is 3s the max or min that can roll? Because this ring may seem underwhelming on the first glance, but: we can get chc on amulet (10), gloves (10), bracers (6), paragon (5), rings(6+6), helmet (6) and quiver (10). To use this ring we would have to minimize chc and maximize as and chd, instead of chc everywhere we would probably aim for as on those items with values of (I think 6?) on amulet, 7 on gloves, 7 on bracers, 10 from paragon, 14 from rings, cdr or toughness on helmet and maybe more hatred regen on quiver. That's additional 35+% as increase. With a bow and including 15-20 quiver as% increase that would be aruond 2 attacks/s. The chance of getting the buff during 5 attacks with 5% crit chance is 77%. Sentry attacks and rockets probably do not count so it will probably be ~3s of shooting evasive fire or ca to get the buff. BUT we could do it this way: unload all hatred of CA during 100% crit buff and regen hatred with evasive fire during no critical time. CA is more than 90% of DHs dps anyway so it would be a really huge dmg increase. I'm not saying it is going to become meta and it would certainly be a harder way to play (also we would have to remember about shooting CA during no crit for tageuk upkeep), but I see a huge potential in this ring, not only for DHs but for any class that could do it this way (lots of attacks in general).

This. Right now to even test something you have to find it first. Why spend a lot of useless time on farming items you are supposed to test. And the buff encourages people to log in and get showered by legendaries, just like you said.
0
That can't be true. I don't believe blizzard will let us enjoy playing wizard ;D

With devastator you can swap RoRG for a SoJ. There are a lot less elites in grifts now and furnace is not as good as it used to be. If I had an extremely well rolled ancient furnace I would probably use it instead of an ancient devastator/firebird source, if not - devastator/sparker all the way.

Well, as I said a few posts above, I surely would consider running the helmet before (it was good), I wouldn't now. It's not worth a dps slot by any means anymore. And to Filth, you said:
'Firstly, Arcane Orb doesn't need a big explossion and Magic Missile doesn't need to deal AOE damage.
The bubble itself will be our primary source of large radius AOE damage. Throw in some Arcane Orbs to deal with high HP mobs and it's a mighty fine build.'
That is wrong on so many levels Not even on T6 will the bubble be a primary source of damage, 1250%/s can't even compare to 690*6*aps*all the modifiers from magic missile with mirrorball... And about Tal Rasha, it certainly does not look like an auto-win, but the changes are interesting and it's too early to say it's worthless. Maybe there will be a build that can take advantage of this set.
0
Yup. I would not use the helmet now.

By the way look at how tiny the area of effect of an arcane orb - obliteration is, I knew it was small but did not realise it's THAT small. It's the only rune that can even be compared with mm conflagrate+mirrorball dmg wise but it's just silly how awfully little the explosion is. Don't know how anyone can expect this skill is gonna be viable the way it works.

1) Cluster arrow on helm easily beats everything else, it's the most important stat, socket with cdr is helpful but priorities are CA>cc>dex.
2) I would enchant the ancient ones, life% -> sentry damage. Sentry dmaage stat increases both their normal arrows and cluster arrows, it's very good and much better than 2% more rcr you can roll.
3) Elemental damage is extremely good and multiplicative with all other damage buff sources, never skip it. Also - you want another bracers, most preferably Reapers Wraps. It may not sound as much but resource regen from health globes is extremely good and easily beats anything you can get from other bracers.
4) I did a scripted simulation once, Cluster Arrow is like 90% of your total damage. An ancient 2h crossbow is much better than most even ancient bows you can get. Try crafting a few times to get one with huge dmg, dex, 10% dmg and rcr.

Actually I thought about it and it does not look that way. The rune we want the most on our slow time is probably casting it wherever we want. So the additional benefits of that helmet are: 3s lower cd, 80% slow instead of 60%, 10% more dmg taken by enemies, 3s (!!!) stun whenever an enemy enters or leaves the bubble and 10% as increase for ppl inside it. If you can manage to stand inside one bubble and shoot to monsters in another, the as+dmg taken buffs are better than 20% fire increase (right now cindercoats reduction does not do anything as we won't be using arcane power, this will hopefully change), you already have 20 from sojand maybe 20 from devastator which along with the sunkeeper are looking like bis weapons for mm fire build right now, so it actually is a 14% dmg increase and it probably won't work on the 1250/s bubble dmg (which is not that high but still it's some damage). I'm not saying the helmet will be absolute bis and nothing can even compare but right now I would not use magefist or cindercoat, which are the best fire items and I found very good ones, instead of it with delsere. The added utility is too much. Well, we have to wait for the ptr anyway ^^

Reduction of cost would suck imo, mm would still be much better (100% reduction is better than any other value;D ). What would you say about 'arcane orb deals up to 100% (or even more) increased damage based on the distance travelled' legendary power? It would require good positioning, would compliment each other nicely with Zeis Stone, and would actually make the spell viable in terms of dmg output when combined with delseres.
