Blizzard has just released their fifth batch of screenshots (see here if you missed the fourth) for hitting the 650k 'Like' mark. Once again, we've got the high resolution versions at our disposal here on DiabloFans.
Click the images to bask in the glory of the high resolution versions that you likely won't see anywhere else!
The first image we have here looks like a concept of the thief from the BlizzCon builds (called the Treasure Seeker, by Vic Lee). Seems this way from the obvious bag on his back with all kinds of items. He randomly and rarely appears in dungeons, and he drops progressively better loot with each blow you land on him, so don't let him get away if you get the chance to run into him!
The second screenshot depicts the Monk towards the end of a battle with the Fallen Ones and their hounds, in the Stinging Winds area of Act II. From the setup of this shot, it looks like it takes place after the screenshot from the second batch.
25,000 more likes to go until the 675k mark where we can get some more images, and 14 more milestones until we hit the 1 million 'Like' goal. Go visit facebook.com/Diablo and 'Like' the page to speed the war effort!
I really like that concept drawing. The whole idea of the treasure seeker is way cool. Still though, this underwhelming batch of screenshots makes me happy all over again for permanently deleting my Facebook account.
That is a pretty damn quick sketch up lol. This is pretty funny. These guys are grabbing their sketchpads, drawing something up in 20 30 minutes and posting it to shut us up lol.

Yes, he drops loot as you hit him. I assume he dies eventually. Think, Mario.

My question is can you kill him? If he progressively drops better loot, then you wouldn't want to kill him. All the quote says is "don't let him get away". I think that he opens is escape portal and heads for it, the more times you can hit him before he gets there the more and better the loot he will keep dropping. Maybe you can use strategy to separate him from his portal to leave him available longer to keep getting more loot.

I know in the video we saw, he only dropped gold but that does not mean that he only frops gold. And the quote says progressively, so I would assume it's not like a counter and every time you hit him, the end drop increases. Instead, every time you hit him, he drops better stuff.
And how would you "decide" to kill him. It is not like there is a certain way to kill him and you can decide when.
Lastly, where did you hear he could still actual items from players? There is no way they would have a mechanic that could make you loose items.

I know we only learned about this monster at the 2010 Blizzcon. However, on this site, we reported about the different monster types they were including which one was labeled thief. Many speculated that he could steal stuff from you. However, even if only gold, I don't like this idea. Also, this guy is meant to be elusive. If he tried to steal from you, he would come at you and not run away from you.
I guess it would make sense that his final drop would be better depending on the hits but I think choosing to hit him with your weakest attack (probably just auto attack) and then killing him with a power skill could add some extra dimension to this fight. Too me, it is just too much though. I don't ever want to be punished for not using my strongest attack to kill something quickly.

I played the demo for a few ours and he only dropped gold as you hit him. When you killed him, he dropped actual loot.
Sorry if someone asked this already...but is this 20 drops per player and each player sees his own individual drops or 20 total and each player sees all of the drops and its a free-for-all like D2 item hunting. Or is it every player sees his/her share of the 20 items based on how much damage/hits they do on the treasure seeker?
