Ranged class im never so fond of, but dont pull an idiotic move and bring in a gunslinger type to diablo! Amazon-esque I can deal, dont try a shooter! That is NOTHING diablo like

Since when did the Paladin be a leader? I say all of them where leaders. Next class will be ranger-class in logic. Whatever you people say, their is always a second chance (The expansion pack later on!)
And yeah, the Monk is holy, there is no more light/holy warriors right now, it isn't logic due to the balance of the characters we have now.
And a wild guess, their could be Tyrial being in exile within a human body, but I guess that is TOO holy to!
And the spear-melee character, didn't Witch Doctor have a spear in one of the reference pictures? But I have never seen them use a spear.. Hmm.
Next character would be a Ranger-class.
It was mentioned he uses a wand. Its an old post in the forums of Diablo 3, so I dunno what he uses now as there wasn't anything mentioned newly. One can guess its still the same. In Logic a Ranger-Class, yes. But it can still be anything. There are many forms of rangers, hunters, etc. They don't need to be just using bows or just wearing leather armor. Some of them can use swords with bows and plate armor.
As for the leader, compared to the other characters the D1 Warrior and the D2 Paladin did give out the leader vibe. When I mean leader, it doesn't mean he's the best of them all. Again its about getting the group together. They're all tough and powerful, but in character traits the D1 Warrior and D2 Paladin suited the Leader Role.

I dont think the paladin was the leader of D2, almost noone wouldve played him if it wernt for his godly skills at the higher end of leveling. I would actualy say (even though im not so fond of him) the barbarian wouldve been the leader, and maybe even again in D3. Hes got the field experiance, hes got everything, but maybe a mind as he has statingly lost.
It isn't about gameplay, its more about lore and a speculation on how the next character would be. Plus the info that almost no one would have played him doesn't define him as not being the leader. Sure the barbarian could be the leader too. He does have the experience, he is the same barb from D2. But he lost his home and his race is dying too. In LOD he was represented as the top of all characters, but in D2 it seemed more like the Paladin than the Barb.
Maybe, maybe not. And who sas hes dying? Cain is older than he is, and is alive and kickin. Just becuase Mt. Arreat is now Arreat crater, doesnt mean hes remained homeless for 20years. Just becuase as of now, hes went a little crazy form the events he experianced, if he couldnt redeem himself and his knowledge, he wouldnt be here as a class. (never thought id defend a barb, never liked them lol)
And why do people think he is a leader type? Im my opinion, anyone emplyed and deployed by the king is not a leader type, hes more of a mercinary type as I see him.

I didn't say he's dying, how did you get that idea? I said his race is slowly dying because of the events of LOD. Mercenary, in some ways. But Knights and Paladins are trained to lead. Plus the Paladin wasn't employed by any king, they were a part of an order. The Order of the Zakarum.
Wernt the paladins serving the king of Westmarch? And i didnt notice u said race, thought u said THE barbarian was dying.
Nope I said race. IF the Paladins were, I didn't know that. But I know they had their own Order which answered to themselves. Even the Paladins are dying out after their Order's Corruption by Mephisto.
I was kinda right. The paladins followed King Leoric, but we all know what happend to him, so they follow closely to the teachings of the Zakarum, and Light.

I think the main reason the classes seem dry is because the there isn't much lore behind them yet, the addition of lore tomes should add some spice to the D3 classes. Am I really the only one that likes the witchdoctor?

No, lol my bro and I like him too. But I just like the Monk more. All the given classes are awesome though. Also I got to agree, there isn't much lore about them yet.
No, it seems there's two of us! The Witchdoctor seems very cool so far, and I can imagine he will become much cooler when they reveal his entire skill trees!
Heh, after seeing your sig. I can imagine the 5th class using a mace, lol. The Witchdoctor using a Wand/Dagger, the Barb with his Swords/Axes, the Wizard with the Staff/Orbs, and the Monk with his Claws/Staves.

No, ive always been a darker guy and the elemental magic, since the necro is exed, its witch doctor and wizard. But the monk is looking nice now too.
I've got a feeling people would only play the monk for high damage end skills. Like the D2 Paladin, but they might not really like the Monk. I've seen a lot of posts about people hating the monk on these forums.
Not just here, there are a lot of people over at the Battle.net Forums who dislike the Monk! Interestingly, though, they all voted for their favorite Monk skill!
Lol.

I just like him cuz with with his skills he looks like the BAMF
Just as what I was saying on my last post, most likely people will play him but only for his end game skills. Since they seem really powerful.
Just to point out, I checked the Map of Sanctuary and Kurast, which is where the Zakarum are. Is actually really far away from Westmark. Like on a totally different Island. Here's the link. http://us.blizzard.com/diablo3/world/worldmap.xml
Heres the thing, the map shows the CITY Westmarch, which is also an important thing to the diablo universe, I was speaking of the ENTIRE westmarch, its in essential almost an entire continent if not more, thats just the city in the link.

Yes, since Tristram is far from Westmarch City but is in Westmarch. Kurast, however, isn't. Its in a entirely different Island. Thus the Paladin belonging to its own order. Some may be hired as mercenaries by a King, but they still do not answer to anyone other than their own Order.
Trust me, the paladins were under Leoric, its also even note on the paladins wikia page, go check it out. Go ahead, ill wait... Go ahead... Waiting....
