I agree with the main point that was made: the classes are cool from now on, but there seem to be missing a karma border lined character such as a mercenary. But i would still love to play a ranged-type character... I hope there will be a combination of both.

Valkyrie perhaps?
In fact, I think that would be the combination I'm talking about (spears + meelee? yay), but the only problem with the name, even though it's real cool, it's only meant to be a female character, if we respect its signification
and
The D1 Sorc is the Summoner in Act 2.= Arcane Sanctuary
I do not recall the Summoner to have the same skin as the Sorcerer in D1. Maybe the spells, but I'm not sure?
it would be really nice to be able to continue the lore of D2 to D3 by the Barbarian's background in Mount Arreat. I'm curious to know what happened to all characters from D2 after the WorldStone was crashed

There is no 2nd act 2, that would be confusing as hell, don't you think?
You enter the Palace and down there you find a portal, which leads to the Arcane Sanctuary... you know, gray place floating in what looks like space... I have no idea how you could forget that.
Well yea it is pretty seperate from the actualy act 2 but its still part of it.

I would love to see what happened with D2 ppl. And find that the necromancer is the only uncorrupted one !
Sorry but the one character who's powers are based around control of Mephisto's minions is the one most likely to be corrupted, expecially after going up against him himself. The paladin, being so empowered by the opposing nature, the Heavens is the only one really that would make sense not to be twisted in any way from the past events.
But who knows, they will maked the story into whatever they want rather than what would make sense.
Well there is a chance the Paladin may in some way be corrupted or become insane. He did lose his order. The Necromancer, yeah chances are he became corrupted.

Losing his order and losing his faith are two different things.
Sorry if I am repeating this idea, but im not reading through 8 pages to be sure...
I like your general idea, but it needs more of a BAMF spin... Not a paladin, thats too hero-of-the-church, and not the traditional hero, thats too im-a-good-guy, or follow-the-king idea. I think it needs a hero who isnt afraid to be the bad guy per-say.
GOD FORBID i will ever need to use a refrence like this again, b ut take DragonBall Z. Goku isnt the Hero-answering-to-master. Hes the saver, top gun hero, that always finds a way tp triumph, and yet can be a total badass enemy-tearer-upper when he has to. We need the Hero that isnt afraid to use a bit of his bad side to save everyone.

Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.
Actually yea in a way but hes still a more holy, answers to 1000 of natures gods type deal. I do see your point though, a break in stance and type would be needed to be sure theyre not similar

I'm totally against this, I want a dark, brutal, bloody character that has no class or regard for those around him. A demon worshiper or something that is not associated with heaven or hell but another religion/practice
Everyones been pissing how the game isn't dark enough and now you want a light hero. I'd say they are all pretty light and heroic and ya know good. They all fight to kill th ebad guys for one reason to save people so in theory they are all like what you want only using dark magic and more brutal ways to obtain it. I don't want a broing class who uses boring spells because he oes by the book and is old fashioned. I wanna see gore kick ass sexy skills and lots and lots of dark prowas.

Not even Death will save you from Diablo Bunny's Cuteness!
Another Idea could be a Soul controller of sorts, a kind of dark badass that can posses demons, or do some spell that controls a demon in her actions, kinda like the "Unknown" In Tekken Tag Tournament, but you control it instead of it controlling you. A master of demon manipulation

What they are missing.. Is the leader of the group. Look at it this way. D1 you had the Warrior, he showed more of the leader from the 3 of them. Now in D2 you have the Paladin. In this new lineup there isn't any. The Witchdoctor is kinda crazy.. The Wizard is a mischievous outcast, the barbarian is a brute that just rips things apart, the Monk is more like a brawler. Holy doesn't exactly mean Auras or Leadership. He's just holy, thus the Monk. He isn't a leader but he's a holy man. The D1 Warrior wasn't holy either. So I see the 5th to at least be a leader of the group, doesn't matter if he's holy or not. But something that goes along the lines of getting the group together.
I dont think the paladin was the leader of D2, almost noone wouldve played him if it wernt for his godly skills at the higher end of leveling. I would actualy say (even though im not so fond of him) the barbarian wouldve been the leader, and maybe even again in D3. Hes got the field experiance, hes got everything, but maybe a mind as he has statingly lost.

Since when did the Paladin be a leader? I say all of them where leaders. Next class will be ranger-class in logic. Whatever you people say, their is always a second chance (The expansion pack later on!)
And yeah, the Monk is holy, there is no more light/holy warriors right now, it isn't logic due to the balance of the characters we have now.
And a wild guess, their could be Tyrial being in exile within a human body, but I guess that is TOO holy to!
And the spear-melee character, didn't Witch Doctor have a spear in one of the reference pictures? But I have never seen them use a spear.. Hmm.

Battle not with monsters lest you become one.

Next character would be a Ranger-class.
