A knight/whatever that has a good(heavenly), neutral(mortal?), and evil(demonic) talent tree. It would be the only real choice because they dont have the pally and necro. Diablo 3 must have this as the 4th and some sort of ranged/whatever for the 5th.
The reason he would be fighting evil if he was evil alligined is because he believes in balance as the nec did.
I know it has been done with many games such as fable and oblivion but Diablo is the ultimate struggle between good and evil.

It doesn't have to be the only option, they just have to be creative like I know they are.
There won't be any evil classes because this is a game of good vs evil. The evil lives in hell and the good is trying to stop hell. It's really that simple.
None of the previous Diablo classes have been evil. The necromancer was not evil -- he used necromantic magic to do good. You won't see any classes with skills like, "Devil Pact" or "Sell Your Soul" because that would make you on Diablo's side.

I don't think this is truth anymore. The large content of lore released makes me think that it's a simple battle of evil vs. good. Theres a huge possibility of Imperius be one of the villans, so the high heavens (good) may be our enemy.
For me diablo is about the struggle of humanity (wich means something betwen good and evil, like a balance) to survive against the influence of absolute Chaos (burning hell) and maybe now absolute order (Hihg Heaven).
A proof of that is the fact that in D2 we played allmost evil characters (necro) and neutral (barbarian, assassin)... So how can be all about a good vs. evil battle if i play bad guy?

There is nothing evil about the Necromancer. We usually think of Necromancers as getting their power from the Devil or other demons but in Diablo necromancy is just another form of magic, and there is nothing more evil about raising a skeleton to fight back hell than summoning a fireball to fight hell. It's not like he is sacrificing townspeople or making pacts with the devil
Though his goals are often aligned with those of the forces of Light, some do not think that these ends can justify his foul means. Long hours of study in dank mausolea have made his skin pale and corpse-like, and his figure is skeletal.
As for Imperius, he doesnt sound much more evil than good from the perspective of humans. Anyone who wants to annihilate the human race is pretty much evil. By good, I mean aligned with the forces of humanity. The evildoers could be demons and/or angels..but whatever the class is, it must be aligned with the side of humanity.
When Sanctuary was discovered by the Angiris Council, he was the first one to raise a voice against its existence. He regarded humans as an abomination polluted by the presence of Demon blood in their veins. He tried his best to have the hidden world destroyed but was stopped by a vote appeal by Auriel and Tyrael. The vote went against his favor but he still holds a very racist grudge against humans
Nice post Kenzai
I couldnt find another post about this sorry if its a duplicate. Im sure others have thought of this idea or one similar to this because it would be a fun to have angelic or demonic powers. I think Blizzard either is already doing this class or thought of it and are doing something else instead.
If the balance was upset like a mortal with chaotic powers then there would need to be a mortal with angelic powers. Im still unsure about the other talent tree i would assume auras.
I also want to see angels fighting demons or battles in the Heavens instead of always fighting in Santuary or Hell.
A second problem is, whats with the lore of the class? It would be hard to make a good backstory for such a class (skill trees that are the opposite of / contradict eachother...). But if Blizzard wants to, they probably can find something good.
Hmmmmmm......
a) he wields a powerful item which derives its power from the devil and slowly corrupts his soul, giving him access to the dark arts even though he fights for good
a holy knight who has renounced the presence of women for God, but is so constantly tempted that he has this dark evil side that causes him to go rape and pillage once in a while
c) abused as a child, he developed multiple personality disorder and reverts into his dark side using his evil abilities whenever he is angered
d) a cult of holy warrior necromancers who believe that theirs is the one true path. call them Necrosavants
I don't like this idea. A Holy/Unholy, Good/Evil or Light/Dark based class sounds bad in my opnion.
You see - if a holy warrior would fall in corruption, surely he would loose their holy powers, once paladins, priests, clerics, both good and evil, do not have power from himself, it's just a favor of a deity. In D&D things work like that but even more restrict (if you are a monk, wich must be lawful, and start to do lots of chaotic acts you will soon became a neutral character and loose partially your monk's skills. Partially because a monk in D&D are not a 100% divine class like clerics and paladins).
If this class was some type of arcane character it would make sense to me, but a class who are linked to divinity could never use those two oposites powers, unless if this class follows a neutral deity that praises balance, but in diablo we have no clue of such thing once theres only Heaven (order) and Hell (chaos).
It's sounds really unoriginal to be honest. Why not just make a one holy and one unholy guy? It's better than a cluster fuck of a few classes to make one really awkward one.
plus, if the gaming steve rumors from a year ago are true, there's going to be the ability to be "good" or "evil" as every item in the game would have a light side and dark side. i doubt this will be in the final game but it would be interesting to see.
maybe have a character similar to the paladin like crusader or templar but i feel this was already discussed.

Necromancers don't follow Trag'Oul all of a sudden? When did this happen?

Didnt i post in this thread before? :confued: Is it possible that you posted that in another thread and decided to open a thread about it? I think it was in the "other 3 classes" thread.
The guy whom i responded with this post also mentioned the "good(heavenly), neutral(mortal?), and evil(demonic) talent" thing in his post. I dont think i havge to add something else.
Actually i like the basic idea of the class. Just not "good, neutral, evil" though, as the Necro isnt really evil etc (look at quote above). Dont know how the lore of the class would be though.
I'd like to see a pure neutral melee class. Maybe a "Melee" tab of just melee skills like "Slam", "Mortal Wound", "Skull Pound", and the like, a "Honor" tab that is passive abilities (Just pulled the name out of my ass, it can be called anything, just akin to the Amazon's passive tab), then a "Hidden" tab (Again, pulled a name out of my ass, it could be called anything) that would have skills like "Prison" that makes an enemy move and attack really freaking slow, "Poison'ed Weapon" that adds poison to your weapon, and other neat Trag'Oul-esque skills?
Just pulled that class out of my ass though, so take it or leave it.
Yeah so this would be like a sith or jedi. not really good v evil. So no you wouldnt be blocked from either tree as you can try and find a balance. This doesnt have to be for a certain calss it can be for the whole game. The struggle between heaven hell and sanctuary.

Jesus Christ, these ideas sound like they're being composed by the mind of a 10 year old who still thinks that spiked hair is cool.
lol:D
I just thought it would be cool if you could go the pally or the deathknight direction within a single class.
