This is just a thought, but I'll bet blizzard is going to try to be politically correct and throw a little racial diversity in with at least one of the 2 remaining characters.
My money is on either a stereotypical Asian or a stereotypical Native American type character.
If they go with the Asian, im sure he will either be a ninja, a samurai, or a Buddhist.
If they go with the Native American, he'll probably be a tracker/ranger who uses ranged weapons (bow and arrows) and talks to animals, or some kinda religous Shaman.
Both have the option of melee combined with of some sort of mystical ethnic magic/religion...
Anyways, i could be completely wrong, and i quite often am, but let me know what you think...
On a side note, i also would not be suprised if they threw a Ibn (Antonio Banderas) from 13th warrior style character in there somewhere...
I belive they mentioned something about customizing your classes, but I don't know if you can change skin color. So if you can't, you can bet on a different ethnicity, but I could be wrong as well.
A guy who summons things from Native American folklore and has some herbal medicine or herbal poison type skills... Maybe?
Dunno what he would summon though... Buffalo? Maybe an Eagle or something
Pfft, its already PC enough. Its like, when you start with that crap then its hard to stop before you added in every possible racial stereotype. I mean, seriously where does it stop? Should we be adding in all sorts of genetic disabilities next in fear that albino's would feel left out or feel discriminated?
A native American really goes too far, the game is supposed to remind us of a setting similar to that of the middle ages, added with many of the fantasies people thought were reality back then (goat men or dog headed man, imps, demons, devils, magic, hell, etc,...)

I don't know why but we always tend to disagree.
With each new Diablo game the classes expand the horizon of the Diablo Universe. Only a few classes REALLY fit a medieval setting. Diablo is fool of odd balls. The necro, the Druid, the Witch Doctor.
A native american class or even a meso american class would be just as foreign to your idea of the Diablo universe as the Witch Doctor or the Druid.

The druid it's not a foreign idea from the "medieval" universe, what are you talking about?
Yes, Diablo universe has no limits, because they set what its true and what its false.
But, come on! Native american shaman? scout? ranger? warrior?
They insert the same idea in warcraft and the "quality" of the escence of the game was not the same.
Even a WD can fit (althought, not enterely) in a medieval context. Also an asian sage or wizard...
don't ruin Diablo PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE, like you did with warcraft, OH GREAT BLIZZGOD!
your silly. Blizz did a great job with wow. I loved most of the cultures of that game. They were done very well and created a diversity.

Doppelganger you were probably one of the few people who did not like the paladin in diablo 2 solely because he was black and please dont say *some of my bestfriends play black paladins*. All I have to say is this, the world of diablo is based off of our world so they obviously have different cultures. I would love to see a native american or arab type character because I feel it adds more depth to the storyline as well as you see how far the taint of the burning hells has spread across the land and here is my message to anyone who sees a fault with what I have typed, You shouldnt judge your character by the color of his or her own skin but by the content of their skills, plus you are probably going to wear a helmet anyways so who cares?

Are you implying that there was a not a single albino in the middle ages? I find that hard to believe.
Also, there's already racial diversity, I wouldn't be suprised if they added another of a different race, but we already have an African and an Asian, and I don't know what the barb is, I thought he was white but someone here said he was something else.
Im not silly... I just think they ruin warcraft (as a quality game) to make it a massive game...
Diablo is not massive, and setting those kind of thing just "end the magic" (?)
An arabian fighter it's a great idea, kind of a ranger or something like that...
I just dont see the foundation for that opinion. Why do you feel that way?

I dunno, I could see arab or maybe even egyptian over native american. I mean the whole make up of the lands doesn't even seem to have an area where a native american culture would fit. Besides wouldn't that be similar to a witch doctor anyways; summons, mythical spells, etc. I guess if he was an archer/hunter/scout type that might work, I dunno.
As a 1/16 native american I take offense that we aren't properly represented in the game... Buttttttt this is diablo and sanctuary isnt it? not the real world... who is to say there are even asian people in sancuary, or native americans.. is there an america in sanctuary? no... I say they just make everyone a mild brown color - so that every character is an equal percentage of all ethnicities... the whole polictally correct thing is stupid, why not make the characters such that they make sense... not caring about race/ethnicity.. asian wizard is about right, black tribal dude is pretty good - could easily be a tan white dude but who cares?, white dude as a barb... well any race could pull this off, aside from asians and french... I could care less if every character in the game was a openly homosexual midget aslong as the gameplay still rocked...
An Arab or Egyptian is more possible, we have some big deserts in Sanctuary and the native american would be reallly similar to the WD so I think his spot was already taken, and also as said before there isn't an area where the Native Americans would fit.

What about a Greek being the archer, I think it was the Athenians who were the great archers, Spartans were kind of like the Barbarian; vicious, battle-hungry warriors.
Side note: I didn't like the pally because of how he played as and because of his skills. Not because he was black. I like all the other characters and, yes, I am upset that the necromancer might not make a come back as he is m favorite character, but the witchdoctor looks kick ass with his zombie wall.

An Asian, an African and a European so far... They could do a native American stereotype I suppose
It's like the "tauren" culture they did.
I really dislike what they did with warcraft legacy since w3.
