I actually hope they'll create a hero that uses the earth /resources around him / her. For example.... if he's near a stone wall, he'll use the stone as a huge fist / sword / shield / etc.
And he can use corpses as a weapon also... A squid monster of some sort can be attached to an arm and the weapon, fuse with it, and use it as a multishot whip / squeeze until you burst type weapon!! and another skill tree could be elements.. to enchant his summoned weapons / armors.
The third skill tree could be earth spirit / telekinesis type attacks.
well, we have the same predictions. 2old-3return. but i belive that every word has sense when it comes to blizz. so, there willi either be 2old--3new or 3old-2new. i hope 3 new and sorc+barb. it makes most sense. pure elemental, pure melee. and 3 hybrids
Yeah I suppose so. I agree, I hope that there will be 3 new classes as well, I expect there to be.

The same sorc doesnt really make sense.
There are many mage clans, itll be cool to see more, using the same is lame.
Im sure the mage fans dont worry which clan the mage is from. Or is there anyone who specially likes Zann Esu?
Just looked up if the name is correct, and found that Zann Esu is a female mage clan.
That rules out the possibility of seeing the exact same sorc.
I also agree with Kenzai. There will be a heavy caster class no doubt. I don't believe the Sorceress is coming back, but as long as this is a Blizzard RPG there will be a heavy caster class...so all you people worrying about it or saying you'll quit if there's no "mage" should stop because there will be.
Mage/Wizard/Elementalist - Unfortunately dont think we'll see a caster class thats much diff from sorceress. Gameplay trailer shows fire+ice+lightning elemental damage, so its logical that the player should be able to cast these spells of these elements too.
Samurai - Paladin'esque replacement with hints of assassin. Chi instead of prayers. Disembowels himself on receiving killing stroke from boss to save trouble & preferable 2 gettin his head chow-mein'd
Demon Hunter/Cabalist/Ritualist - Fighter Mage type. Transmutes parts of body. Devil claws for damage, goatmen legs for speed, angelic wings for defense, enchants weapon into angelic lightsaber. Can surround himself with hellfire/angelic tentacles. At lvl 99 learns skill to transform into Uber Tyrablo wielding Sword of a Thousand Truths and destroys the World

we already have summoning, curses in new form of necromancer, WD so even the (necromancery is already used)
 n00b  think before posting
You don't know what the WD consists of, so you can't say that...
Those concepts are actually really unique and refreshing, and quite unlike all the other hackneyed ideas people have been throwing around lately.
And I don't understand why the archbishop is so laughable. I mean, none of these will be implemented obviously, but I can imagine the archbishop - an alternative caster type using auras.

If you don't have anything good to say, say it on the internet.
Unfortunately my guess is that the ranged class will prob turn out to be WoW's hunter - pets&traps. There ARE only so many things you can do with a ranged class..and i think D1&D2 covered them already.
Barb covers the heavy infantry, sustained dps role, so how bout a light infantry, insane burst dps Swordmaster? someone that can really pull off some ornate oriental slice&dice moves, with some proper ninja'esque acrobatics&agility (assassin that lays traps & pulls off same punch/kick animation each time? gay..) Roronoa Zoro's 3 Swords Style FTW!
Still like my transmuter idea tho - transforms diff parts of body&environment into mad weapons. Think marvel's Carnage crossed with DMC4 Nero's devil arm - throw in some wings transformation (Sasuke cursed lvl 2) !

Here's an abstract idea for you guys. How about every class has a tree for Combat skills (melee attacks, ranged attacks, weapon/shield proficiencies etc.), Elemental skills (spells, perhaps adding an element to your attacks, etc), and Arcane/Support (straight up magic damage, damage reduction, enhanching, etc). For example the WD and barb...
Witch Doctor/Barb
Combat: Kind of a "D&D for dummies" theme
staff skill/Masteries
shield skill/Abilities (cleave, whirlwind, etc)
special weapon attacks (staff bash or the like) /Throwing,ranged,shield profieciency
Elemental: Self Explanatory
Fire bomb thing he has/Add elemental damage/effects to attacks
Other fire skills
Poison/Disease skills
Arcane/Support: Anything could fall under this
Zombie wall and the like/Warcry type moves
Summons/Ironskin,natural resistance
Fear spells/Skill using magic weapons
This would eliminate the need for the stereotypical "sword and shield" or even "pure caster" characters. Certain classes will have different skills of course but as a barb you could focus on huge elemental damage with a crappy weapon. Or as a WD you could build a staff wielding bludgeoner of doom. Just my idea, even though it probably won't happen.
3:19 -- Wilson says the witch doctor is not the evolved version of Diablo II's necromancer.
The Necro has been in almost every Diablo book, and it is one of the most played classes of all. I think instead of the witch doctor being a replacement, I think the Necro will have new skill trees, or whatever they are going to use. I think it would be cool if the Necro had almost assassin like skills for the dagger, as they do in the books.
I personally think, if there are only 5 classes, that the other two will be a Paladin type character who can shapeshift into an angel. And of course, a mage class which they have had from the beginning. But I seriously doubt there will only be 5 classes.

Then why even call it Diablo 3?! the reason its called diablo 3 is to continue its legacy. So to speak.

Shaman = Earth, Summoning and Bestiary
Theurgest = Necromancery, Curses and Toxin

Anti-Primus- DPS based light magic class
and follow in the footsteps of the d1->D2 transition and kill off all old classes. 'Cept barbarian.
I said it in the Archbishop thread and I'll say it here. The Bishop.

They came out with the Witch Doctor right?
So why wouldnt they bring in a new class never before seen?
Who knows...
I hope that they come out with a class that when later looked at, people will be like "wow! I would have never thought of that!"
Honestly lets not make to much speculation about previous characters.
The barb had to be in D3, what else can smash and show utter power?
What else can you think of that Blizzard will bring in?
Witch Doctor, and ????
Cheers-
Battle not with monsters
lest ye become a monster
and if you gaze into the abyss
the abyss gazes into you.
