I think a cross between the paladin and rogue will be the ranged character. It's not done very often, has a lot of potential, and leaves them room to do whatever they want with the other class.

The next class will be so totally Bad ass that it will blow off our heads and we wont get to play

I like the idea of a corsair, that could easily take the place of the amazon. Would also be pretty closely related lore-wise.
Since the corsairs and the amazons fought over the amazon isles, forget wtf they're called right now.

Anywho, I think we'll probably be getting the ranged physical damage class next, since we've already got 2 casters, and a melee damage dealer. Thus, they might want to keep it varied, and release a ranged class, then the next melee class.

lol... looking back on this thread i made, wow. i was VERY wrong when the new class would come out.

obviously we still have the seperate classes to choose from, so i'm not suggesting some character creation from scratch, but does that hint at a possibility that there could be more to it this time around than selecting a class from around a fire?

or does he just refer to selecting a class and giving them a name as creating our character?
i suppose that is the likely answer, but i just thought it interesting and maybe worth bringing up.

well im pretty sure when you want to start a new game you have to create a new character doesn't mean that there is more involved in creating.

I hope they try to mix a ranged melee class with a "holy" aspect to them. Not to many games have tried this combo. And after all, knights did use crossbows. This would also leave the last class to be just about anything.

that would be nice to see a class that can use every type of weapon like how the Barb was able to have different weapon masteries. with the Barb now only really having the ablilty to either have duel wielding, two-handed weapons (i think), and weapon and shield they need a class that can have a skill tree for range, melee, and maybe just magic. if done right it could be a good character that newbies can play to get use to the different fighting stills without making a new character.

a knight of some sort would be a perfect since they are a utility type character

I hope there will be a fast close quarters class similar to the assassin in D2.

I think we've had two "magic based" classes and only one melee class, so my best bet for the next class announced will be a ranged or another melee class :thumbsup:

i'm really hoping our ranged class will be cool.

in D2, after trying a little of everybody, my favorite for single player was the Necro, but for multiplayer, i preferred Barbarian and Amazon.
i once had a zon that was a ridiculousss PvP character.

and since we now have both genders for each class, our ranged fighter will be a refreshing step away from the rogue/zon-type archer woman.

Ranged, definitely. They won't reveal the 2nd melee class before revealing the ranged.
