Ok, so... as you all know, Umaro sold the domain name to Blizzard, which kinda pisses me off, seeing as he never consulted any of us. but, seeing as though he doesnt have to, and he probably made some money, im not gonna be mad about it.. althought it would have been nice to know -_-. ANYWAYS, i have this bad feeling, that very soon, we are going to have a flood of new people join, and if you look in the introduction thread, you can see that it has already kind of started. well, the point im trying to get across, is that... whats going to happen to the original members? the ones that have been true to this site for 6 months - 3 years? idk, i personally dont like when a person joins, and they have like 1000 posts by the end of the month, it pisses me off, and makes me hate them. No offense fbim, i have gotten to know you, and for what little i know of you, i like you =). so yeah, back on topic, whats going to happen to us? maybe we could have our own little similar forum thing like what the mods have? or something? im not someone who is going to enjoy having 100 new members a day, things would get confusing and i would get mad and leave, which is what i will likely do when we get over populated... unless something is done to keep our little community that we had before the domain was bought, the same.
idk, this is just an idea i had, so please dont flame, and if the idea is out the the question, im sure that Silver, Umaro, or Elfen will tell me so in a mature manner that doesnt consist of flaming.
oh, and the reason i put it in here, is mainly because most of the people that i care about and care for their opinion look in this section of the forums. plus, i didnt want to put another post into the stupid general discussion thread that is over filled with stupid conversation.

I kinda agree with you. The flood of newbies seems a little too much. I feel like the older members are drowning with this influx of members. Every time i look at a news thread there's about 10-20 people with only one post that have only posted in that thread. I don't value their opinion much (no offense) as its their first post. I kinda wish they would just leave but i know they won't. I like your idea though and would embrace it.

thank you, that means a lot to already have someone who is willing to support me, and yes, i as well hate going into a thread, and seeing like 10 people who have just joined posting in there, idk why it makes me mad, but it does. Im going to miss the days when we werent too popular, and we knew who we could trust, and who was loyal to the forums and diablo 3, and not just because they think its coming out soon.

I dont mean any disrespect, but u cant say u didnt expect the forum to be flooded with new people with the coming of more and more news of diablo 3, but i support your idea, no newmber including me cant match 3 years of forum posting..so yeah you should get officers, or smth..but dont seperate from us "the new ones "..cheers!
there are way too many of us to just make us all into officers, sorry buddy. oh, and it wouldnt be seperating us completely, we would still post in the normal forums, i was just talking about just a small sub forum thing with like 2-3 catagories that we could talk in about stuff in the past, and things in the future, and possibly things that we have been through.

We all pretty much new and expected a flood of new members. I new i was gonna hate having so many new members at the site. But i didn't think there was a solution so i gritted my teeth and prepared to bare it. Cali you have now given me a sense of hope that things can return to the older times but still remain in the present.

I agree with you caliban, Although I don't know if I am considered a newbie or not
But I did have a different account which I joined in last year but made this one instead, my old one only had like 75 posts anyway

MSN, Xfire, Ventrilo and Diablo3 Ingame chat will keep the higher posters together... you know, for when were all playing Diablo 3
Thats what I always thought would happen
I dont think we should discriminate against new people, but it seems as there has been a big load of newbies coming in theres also been alot more spam threads or pointless posts
haha, maybe we need some really strict mods? Equniox come back! lol
Maybe we could have a thread that is all our own, people with a certain join date, and then we could allow people to come into it with permission. What do you think?
P.S. Spanish Bard is never allowed.

i would love that...
and when d3 comes out, we make a new guild rule that only people above 1k posts or their join date is in 2007 can join, unless theyre really really liked

Its a good idea to only let them in if the person is liked, It should be like if a member wants to go in the thread they just post saying am I allowed? and If no one gets back to them they can post it again, Because If it's join date i probably wouldn't be allowed but I feel I am a pretty loyal memebr to the site, also if it was like 1k+ posts a lot of good members wouldn't be allowed in.

First of all, there are the Xfire SICK forums, though they suck.
Second of all, what's so bad about the new members? Some of them will be cool and some of them will be douchebags, we have the same with the older members too. New people = more activitiy and fun. I understand you want a forum for all the "oldies" of the forum, and I do think that's a good idea. But there isn't much wrong with all the new guys coming in :/

And by the way, I don't know what we're supposed to do in SICK. I'm part of it, but I don't know what to do.

You have to admit that he's good.
Post count people spam.
Join time people come back after not using their accounts and have the requirements filled.
Voting people will be unhappy with the results.
I suppose you could do some combination, but it seems a little over the top to me.
