Hi all, I have installed the Beta and updated to the new patch, My videocard is Nvidia geForce 9400Gt but the system say: You video Card is Not Compatible The Game started in the past
Blizzard is smart enough that they won't make the game too intense on graphics. Just like world of Warcraft they will make sure that you can utilize a good graphics card but not make a bad card cripple your game play experience.
I've always wanted to know as to why theres always a system requirement?
I feel there should be an equal running on all computer systems. And if say you have a dinosaur then you should have a waiver signed in case something was to happen. I guess, you could avoid that by setting bundaries on the type of systems that the beta requires butt it seems a bit biased to me. That you have to have a high tech Computer to test out the game. Not trolling or anything just wanting to know more about this. I have a good computer myself so this doesnt really apply to me. But I'm just curious as to why? Is it because It would require more work and the effects and graphics of the game would be ruined?
I feel some people having the game to play would make them happy if a certain computer is all they had.
Have played this at a mates place on his PC and laptop and PC runs it flawlessly.
The laptop unfortunately stutters around A LOT and is un playable, it is only 12 months old too. Alienware M11X we spent about an hour and a half getting new drivers and tweaking with settings and no go.
But the PC has a 6950 in it and 8GB and looks awesome on his 30", must look at getting one of those monitors for myself too before launch...
anyone think a radeon hd 4200 will run d3 on low settings atleast?..i tried canirunit 2 months ago it was green i try it today its says my card isnt any good.
Even though the specs are low I'll be buying a new rig soon. I've been really wanted to put in a new processor and some better ram but with that comes a new mobo so at that point I'll just put together a whole new rig and use this as a data server or something. I'll probably keep the card since it's mostly fine (GTX 460) and throw in my old card (9800 GTX+) to use it as the server.
my vedio card is 9800GTX+, I think I can run D3 ok, but looking into better quality, i may have to update my computer before it releases.
also a new monitor would be good! My GF was asking me what I want for my birthday gift, here is the conversation:
her: what you want for you birthday honey?
me: r u serious?
her: sure!
me: Can I have a D3 Beta Key?
her: What is it?
me: google it!
her: anything else instead?
me: a new computer?
her: My boss is here, i got go......

I will be able to run this game at max no problem because I built my own computer back in october with a gtx 570, i7, etc. Anyways for people who do not have a computer to run this my reccomendation would be to build your own computer, and if cost is a problem (as it was for me) just lower the graphics card to a gtx 460 ($159.99 at Amazon http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B005HU02EM/ref=nosim/7240466-rg2304-00-20?s=merchant&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER) or for the lower end of the spectrum you could always still run the game with an ASUS gt 430 ($55.99 at Newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121471&nm_mc=OTC-Channel&cm_mmc=OTC-channel-_-Video Cards-_-ASUS-_-14121471&srccode=cii_7240466&cpncode=32-7962798&DEPA=0&refer=channel&CMP=OTC-). Whichever card or processor you choose, you will be able to run the game decently, but not at max settings. The reccomended specs for this game requires a GeForce 260, which you cannot even buy anymore its so old. I am glad the way they designed this game because it makes it so pretty much anyone with a computer with an okay graphics card (and everything else above) can run the game. However, if you are thinking of building your own computer, I highly reccomend it. This was my first time build and my only advice is to do a lot of research before buying the parts and especially before installing them. See you all in game! ^^
Im going to buy a new computer for the release of diablo 3.
this is what i've come up with so far.
anyone have any comments or ideas ?
Cooler Master CM 690 II Lite Svart
Silver Power SP-SS620M 620W PSU
Intel® Core i5-2500K Processor
MSI P67A-GD65 B3, Socket-1155
Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz 8GB CL9
XFX Radeon HD 6870 1GB GDDR5 "Dual Fan"
Kingston HyperX SSD 120GB 2.5"
Seagate Barracuda® 500GB
Sony Optiarc DVD±RW Writer, AD-5280S
BenQ 24" LED GL2450HM
MS COA Label Windows Home Premium 7
MS DVD Win H.P/Pro/Ultimate 7 SE 64bit
MS ROYALTY Win Home Premium 7 Nordic
And as a reply to Willow, those specs are more then enough needed to play d3 and moderately high settings. In fact, you could probably even max the game, but everyone shall see once diablo 3 is released. But that build is great. My ONLY suggestion is do not go with the 500gb seagate barracuda. First off, 500gb is plenty but if you do a lot of video editing or photo editing it will quickly fill. Secondly, seagate does not make very reliable Harddrives. Go with this instead (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Western Digital - Caviar Black 1TB Internal Serial ATA Hard Drive for Desktops/8909595.p?id=1213047091732&skuId=8909595&st=Western Digital Caviar Black&cp=1&lp=1). Western Digital makes very nice Hard Drives and on top of that they are faster in my opinion and more reliable. 149.99 is a little pricy considering it was only 100 when I bought it in October, but you might be able to get it cheaper from Newegg. Also, definately keep with the SSD, your boot times on the computer will be almost nothing. With my SSD, Windows 7 boots within less than 10 seconds.
Yes, a new system with minimum 1 GB memory and 8 GB SDRAM and latest CPU is good.
But let's not forget that there are 3 other factors that greatly affect game play.
1) Your rig must be cool. So effective use of fans/coolers is a must. Do Not be cheap here!
2) Your rig must have proper voltage. So buy a quality UPS with Voltage Regulation.
(even if the voltage drops from nominal 120v to below 100v the Voltage Regulator transformer will provide you with steady 120v.
3)It might be the correct time to call your phone/DSL provider and have them clean up your service panel connection.
(all copper connections degrade over time with adverse weather like rain, snow and heat.)
Verizon answered my complaint in 3 days, and improved my DSL speed for free.
These 3 needed items make a big difference. Hope this helps someone.
I find it annoying the number of games that are lowering the specs (and visual quality) recently. A perfect example is DiRT 2 and 3. The last is clearly less demanding and "ugly" than its predecessor.
Now about Diablo 3, I knew Blizzard would not push the specs too much because... well, they never do that. I don't know if it's to reach a broader audience or what, but when you release a game that can run smoothly (at least most of the time) at max settings on 4 years old GPU's (GTX 260)... something is wrong with that. I think it will look "dated" long before the end of its life (Blizzard wishes this Diablo to be played for around a decade).
Even Blizzard's art department being really talented, games will look old if you're too "shy" on specs. WoW, for example, is beautiful, but everybody says: couldn't this/that "be more shiny"/"be shaded"/"have more polygons"/"have a better texture"?.
That's why I think every game should be released with an extra "ridiculously ultra" setting which is only able to run on 4 GTX 580's and an overclocked extreme CPU (or not even on that).
My machine likely support the game (win7, core i7....)
However, my video card, hd 5770, is lower than the recommended in the 3D mark, by say, this computer bought 1.5 years before is a bit out-of-date.....
Computers change rapidly
btw, I am interested how hard-disk affect the speed of loading because the only 1TB hard-disk storing the system are often overloaded.

Depends on it's memory, and on other components of the computer. You should be able to get decent framerates in any case.

At least this way I can play it on my old computer whenever it gets released, or even buy something new (that has then become old again).

I know that SC2 is probably a more demanding game with all the units and calculations. I just find it interesting!
