Thanks Verity for your quick reply. I'll cross my finger that it will run well on a new laptop..
A new laptop with the right specs will have no problem :)! Most laptops favours CPU power over GPU though which usually makes it weaker for games, but better for regular applications which have no heavy graphics. What you want is a "gaming" laptop within your budget.
Hi I have the 2011 MacBook Pro with the 6750M in it. 8GB ram. Do you gusy think that the new 2011 Macbook Pro should run this game on high settings or will I need to run on Medium-High? Any info would be great.
P.S. If you're interested in buying or building a new computer, PM me and I'll do my best to help you make an informed purchase, even if you remain as uninformed about computers as before
Fortunately I have been waiting for D3 to buy a new machine so hopefully be able to afford a good one (actually need 4) - I may take you up on your offer when I have priced up something...
My main issue is my broadband, they state broadband, but what speed? There will be 4 of us playing together (me, my wife and my 2 children) on the same link so can you suggest/ recommend what I would need?
I did not get a reply earlier, so I'll post again. It says we need broadband internet to play the game and most wireless are excluded. I run my internet from a Verizon wirelesss router, and it runs fine with no interuptions. I never have a problem playing online games, but will running my internet from this limit my chances for getting into the beta? Will it even matter?

A lifetime of Blizzard; a lifetime of fun. A lifetime with online games; a lifetime of memories.
Just wondering how my laptop would fare for the beta requirements as of now. If someone could give me an idea how they think it would run, that'd be awesome! Thanks in advance!

Looks like you've got the graphics card and ram down, but I'm not sure how many cores D3 will recognize (wow only recognizes two, so having a quad core does you no better good when strictly running it). I bring up your processor speed (2.0) just because the min requirements are stating 2.8 +, but who knows it will most likely run fine =D
Also, if wow does recognize more than two cores please correct me, I am just passing on what my tech buddy told me =)

I could be wrong, but I believe that the software doesn't get the information about your internet connection.
I am personally really worried about this whole thing of internet connection. They said it's going to be one server for all america right? My internet is good, but not good enough to join a server in the US without having about half second of delay. This is my only concern about D3.
Wish there was a way for me to test my connection to the server somehow. Unfortunately I won't be in the beta
so does this mean the fan sights and other promotional sites will be getting their invites now? cause isnt this the next(kind of step) for Bliz, giveing out the beta system specs? hopefully they give out the beta for the fan sites and promotional sites by friday evening, cause i want to See Force Strat do some all weekend long Vids :D.. you the man Force.

No you are wrong, cause a Radeon X1900XTX is faster than a Radeon X1950 pro. But I don't know if blizzard can tell if I got a x1900 normal version or a X1900XTX...
Here you can see for yourself in a benchmark: http://www.ultimatehardware.net/294.htm
I'm sorry I didn't really know and only went on number due to my unfamiliarity with this rather old tech. Well in that case you should be able to run it, you cpu and ram checks out.

As Verity already pointed out, computers less than two years old should be able to run it fine (as long as they're marketed as gaming computers, if not then they're likely to not have a dedicated gfx card). What's your computer specifications by the way? I was wondering since you said it's 6 months old but also that you'd do whatever it takes to play D3 at release. I'm assuming that if it doesn't meet the requirements, you'll just need to switch (or add) a piece of hardware, likely the gfx card.
Well...i saw a good deal on an HP slimline; not realizing the upgradability limitations at the time. But...
AMD Athlon II X2 250 Processor 3.00 GHz
3.00 GB RAM
Integrated ATI Radeon 3000 Graphics (not important enough to list on the system info page)
"whatever it takes" might mean a new box and power supply since my six month old purchase was a horrible one.
Very nice info !!! Sure to please alot of people out there who kept asking for this.
Once again, Blizz making it possible to play across alot of older systems. Kudos to them, although Im sure many of us (myself included) have rigs that are gonna eat this thing alive.
About the only thing that slightly surprised me was the 12gb of hd space. Didnt think it'd be that much, but no big deal I guess.

1. I have exactly same specs !!
2. You will achieve very very poor quality unless you do 2 things:
A. install apropriate modded drivers for your laptop:
Go read forum before you download anything.
B. tell your OS to explicitly use GT540 instead of built-in intel hd (control panel -> nvidia control panel -> add exception)
Is it worthy to do a & b? yes. Proof: Crysis 2 without those runs at minimum of minimum graphics and 10 fps. With it runs on high smoothly and a medium-resolution.
Hey Tommmm,
I went to the website and have been searching through the forums. I checked the posts you made but I'm still a little confused. Did you just have to download one INF driver? I typed in my hardware ID and then downloaded the INF driver for my graphics card's version number (265.89), but I'm waiting to install until I get a confirmation. Also, are there any negative things that could happen because of this?
