Yea just watched www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQs1Fs8JljM where Kongor gets 10 Lenedaries in an hour. Only on MP 6. I guess Once you hit Paragon 50+ and can faceroll MP5-7 that your loot will get noticeably better? Also I heard people are doing MP10 in Crypt of the Ancients and are getting good drops and EXP only killing the trash and skipping the elite then logging out and repeating till eyes bleed.

There are no rules. Don't bind yourself to rules of what should or should not happen.
Just keep farming, pick up paragon levels while you're at it and stop telling yourself that you're due for something at a certain point in time. It's random. Everything is random. Just play to maximize your chances but you are never guaranteed anything.
...and as a bonus, since they do plan on altering itemization, you could just wait it out if you're burned out already.
How can something be "fun", "enjoyable" and "a drag" at the same time?
I'm an avid mountain climber. I love hiking up high mountains. The higher and steeper, the better. I could easily take the cable car (every freaking mountain in Switzerland has one) but it wouldn't be the same; only the long hike gives me the great feeling once I reach the summit.
It's the same with anything I do in computer games: the longer it takes to kill a boss, the more of an accomplishment it is. The longer the wait for an amazing item drop, the more I'm happy about the drop. And paragon 100 would be pointless and people wouldn't create threads showing "I DID IT" if it wasn't such a drag. Only with things like that you can stick to a game for more than a couple of months; only these long-term goals kept us playing D2 for 12 years.
The problem is, that once you killed the boss and checked the dropped loot just to find out that all of them were trashy rares the "I DID IT" mutates into "fuck this shit".
Blizzard is constantly tweaking legendary drop rates every day!
Whatever is selling on the AH atm determines which legendaries drop!
You have to keep making games until you find a loot server!
Accounts are flagged for bad drop rates!

Yay the list is growing.
Don't forget, you can over-farm the game and have to take several hours to several weeks' worth of breaks (depending on the extent of over-farm) in order to "reset" the quality and quantity of loot you get on your runs!
Speak for yourself. I never got a character to 99, and I played the crap out of that game.
But I guess that's just me, I'm not at all into the whole "I DID IT!" thing.
The bottom line is, and I think you've already said this yourself, the gap between no MF and max MF is too great, which means some people see legendaries drop once in a full moon, while others have legendaries coming out of every orifice
Oh, absolutely. Yes. The gap between no MF and max MF is too great. And even though I never thought of it, maybe it's the same for general gear (e.g., many players can't get past the 150k DPS mark, while BiS gear would give you 800k DPS, in theory) - if that's what you're getting at, @Indimix.
But I was just talking about the "drag" being "enjoyable" - I don't care if I never reach it (and I never reached 99 in D2, I never crafted Enigma, and so on). If the goal is something that not everyone reaches, it just makes it more worthwhile to pursue for many people (I acknowledge that not everyone thinks that way, though I think to some extent human mind is build that way, to just be better than the rest).
Hm, I really don't think there's that much of a difference. You *needed* to get to level 60, 70, 80 to get certain builds to work (have enough skill points). Just like you *need* to get in this paragon 60-80 range to get a decent amount of drops.
I don't think a lot of people will ever go past p90, just like many people never went past level 90 in D2. The playtime you invest to get the last three levels were questionable in D2 (3 more skill points at this level don't really change much), just like in D3 (9% MF/GF, 9 main stat, 6 vit). It's not a game changer and the last few points MF can be easily gained through gear (or maybe even follower's gear). Since you mention p85, I think 14 more skill points at level 85 were just as interesting to get as 45 MF (something you can get on one amulet, while 14 skill points in D2 were not as easy to obtain on gear).
But to some extent I agree with you that paragon feels more mandatory (while I never had the desire to hit level 99, I want to get to p100 at some point, even though it'll take me years).

At least they are working on it, it seems.
