Yup.
According to the newly released Timeline Cain was first mentioned on the year 912, where he leads a bank of monk Horadrim to capture Diablo's soul in a soul stone.
And since he's the one who led them, he must have been pretty damned experienced and well versed in his art. But for the sake of this post I will assume that he was around 25 at the time
Now we defeated Baal in Diablo II at 1265 (353 years later) and Cain was with us through the whole thing and at the end was about 378 years old.
now.... 20 years later he is back and this time he's 398 at least!!!
I think that's pretty cool although I definitely would want to die before I hit the 100 year old mark.
But then again years could be completely different in Sanctuary, so that might not be half as old as it sounds.
i don't think so even though Blizzard said that Deckard is one of the oldest men in Sanctuary i don't think he's that old. Deckard is maybe about 80-100 years old at the max. If he was older he would be like Horazon from Legacy of Blood... completely crazy.

Well soooorrryyyy for not reading the Journal all the way. My computer is screwed up, and I don't like trying to do stuff on the blizzard site because it requires a computer that isn't screwed up.
But anyway, if that's his ancestor, than I guess there is no telling how old he really is, unless Blizzard actually tell us themselves.
Well he was like 65 in the first Diablo, so he's like 85 or 86 or something in Diablo 3. Which is extremely old for the Earthian (new word) time period that Diablo is rooted in. That explains why he's shaking and extremely hunched now.
It's not that old. It is used in Futurama. So is Earthican.
The Horadrim Order maybe be centuries old, but where was it stated that Deckard Cain is a founding member of said Order. He is the last sure, but he could have joined it (or been born into it) years after it was created.
The First time Deckard Cain is mentioned is in Tristram around the time of Diablo's release from the soulstone by Lazarus, prior to this the name cain does appear, but that is Jeren Cain.
No linage or direct link between the two has been made so far, Cain could be a last name or a title, there is no evidence that directly links Jeren as the father, grandfather or great grandfather (or even brother) of Deckard Cain.
All we know is their names end in Cain. We have not proven it is not a title yet. There is no law saying a title must come before the name. Gaius Julius Caesar. Gaius Julius is his name, Caesar is his title. Marcus Aurelius Caesar. Marcus Aurelius is his name, Caesar is his title.

thanks when i saw Jered Cain in the timeline at first i thought it might be Deckard's kin but then it i thought that Cain just might be a common last name. (example: i graduated with three other people with the same last name as me but none of them were related.)
Thats why i ask if they were akin.

Deckard Cain is Jered Cain's descendant my friends.. He is the last of the Horadrim as we all know and he is not 398 years old for heaven's sakes!! He probably was born before the year 1200 which is between the timelines 1100 and 1264 where Diablo 1 started. if we say he was born a few years before 1200 then he might be in the right age as an old man in Diablo 1 and 2, right? Since 60+ years old is already a senior citizen age in OUR world. Am I Right?

In between Light and Darkness, he was born. Outside of time and space he exists.. In this hour of darkness, he is once again called for to rid the world of sin and chaos.....
Deckard Cain is Jered Cain's descendant my friends..
Please supply evidence of this please.
Rest of your post stands though.

I am not saying with 100% certainty it is, but an easy was to prove that Cain is familiy name is to disprove it as a title.

I think Horazon actually kept himself alive by magic. He new that one day his brother will return and only he could stop him, so he used his magic to kept him alive.
He also went complete nuts over all those years.

That crazy guy wasn't Horazon, that was just some guy. Horazon is the Arcane Sanctuary. But if Dackard is as great a mage as Horazon, then I don't see why he couldn't keep himself alive in his own body.
Yes i know Horazon is in the arcane sanctuary. in Legacy of Blood he acted crazy and paranoid that the demons are going to get him thats why he made the Arcane Sanctuary.
Your wrong dad_... lol its been awhile since i said that to my father...lol

... That guy that that necro bitch met was not Horazon, Horazon was the the Arcane Sanctuary, he fused himself with the Arcane Sanctuary, that old man was just there to do his bidding. Horazon wasn't paranoid, the old man was.
The Horadrim disbanded in 1100, does that mean Cain is 265 years old at the end of D2, if indeed he is the last of the horadrim?

That is extremely stupid.
