I have played WoW since release date and I think it is a great game. I know many people share the same opinion as me on the state of D3 at the moment. I have never played any of the previous Diablo games. Coming from an avid WoW fan, I must say that even the gameplay demo looks like an upgraded WoW. The blocky tilesets, the blurred images and especially the lion statue, and bulky shoulder armors that are posted everywhere are familiar to wow. I think that the developers are heavily influenced because of WoW's success, like it or not. What they are trying to do I believe is make the game appealing to the 10 mil in WoW, and for the old fanbase to maximise sales.
However I believe that diablo should stay true to its predecessors, and not go down the 'cartoony, bright' path that WoW is. I agree, there are some corny things in there like the mini pets, mini tyreal?? That was absurd... However D3 is in pre alpha, which means it is not too late to change the style, however it would be too late to speak up about it 5 months from now. I know I am going to get flamed for liking WoW, but whatever, just my thoughts.
Hahaha, wow what a phycho(sorry, just stating the facts here)!
If you never played Diablo series how could you tell how diablo 1 and 2 looked in comparison to Diablo 3!??????????
WOW man, making multiple accounts and posting as other person will not do you any good, it just makes you look like a psychotic angry 12yr old kid!
+ I don't really want to talk to any lifeless WOW guy who is willing to pay 5 years/365 days a year every month a fee to play the game! But in this case i made an exception, since your posts is so flawed that i just needed to bash it!
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Diablo 3 is graphically and artistically great, there needs to be variety in the game, instead of only plain and dark areas!
+Wouldn't it be better and more interesting if from a sunny beautiful day, mist starts covering the screen, rain starts falling, thunders and lightning striking and it starts to darken, instead of constant dark!?
Etheral armour looked exactly the same as non-etheral armour on the character in D2...
Oh yeah I forgot, I meant strength bug. My bad. You know what I meant
Edit: And that baba does look to very WoW-ish, you guys are crazy. It doesn't take playing Diablo 1-2 to know that the new Diablo looks like WoW. Lawl. Don't listen to them thudburg. Those big ass shoulder pads look so horrible, keep that in the WoW universe please Blizz! And his face looks remarkably like an orc's, not to mention that overall their armor designs are just incredibly similar. They seriously should have researched different styles of armor. The baba also has really blown out proportions. He's twice as big as any man I've ever seen, and too similar to an orc for comfort.
You guys. Are complaining. About big. Shouldper pads?!
Z_omfg
Seriously. Who gives a turd?!
Shoulder pads of barbarians are big.
Deal with it.
Edit: Sorry, but I ABSOLUTELY FAIL TO SEE how Diablo III looks like unicorns and rainbos. Seriously. It more closely resembles Sesame St.
Thx man, u have right. This is an upgraded Wow. Who likes wow, than play wow. Who want to try diablo. Than they want to try, a REAl Diablo!
So Blizzard do a big mistake.
Blizzard gone Crazy mad about the money. All about the money. Who want to get the money, coast to coast, then they will lost everything.
cu
Um, every company is about making money.
It seems that many are being too close-minded.
I happen to like variation in my game, not 100+ lvls of doom and gloom dungeons.
Yeah. Blizzard being to close-minded. And becouse of that. they will lost their beloved money:)
Blizzard is not enough Brave. They want to create only sure money. What seems to be sure, for the profit. But they are wrong.
He means blizzard seems to be copying the style of WoW because they think it will net them a wider audience (girls, younger people etc), and that they are not brave enough to stick to their guns and make something reminiscent of the original titles because it might be too dark and creepy for.. well girls and young kids to handle.

I can't see how it translates. Maybe it's your interpretation?
In any case, how did you reach your conclusion that "blizzard seems to be copying the style of WoW"? Diablo II won the best game of the year award, and was a very widely popular game. WoW is popular as well, but it seems unjust to say that Blizzard holds WoW in a higher regard than Diablo.
And I don't see through what reasoning you came up with that you concluded that Blizzard isn't brave, afraid that they will frighten young kids. Did you see that boss tear that guy's head off, and eat him, or something like that? Jeez, Louiz.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
