Batman:Arkham Asylum

Reviews are out in Europe and they're all over 90/100. Everyone is saying it's a serious contender for game of the year.
I'm really surprised but after watching the trailers it does look pretty freaking sweet. Downloading the demo now
Played the demo and it is awesome.. Good story. Good fighting. Good action. Can't wait for the full. Played more than the demo at E3 and that was good.
AvP will also be a great release but probably not as big.
Global Agenda was another great E3 game.

i don't care about the game.
never liked DC stuff, batman movies i can enjoy but not games, comics etc
plus, i never ever concern myself with "professional" game reviewers since there are just too much instances where the reviews depend on how much money they get paid

Guess no one here can change your mind, but I would suggest you try 1 of the 3 available download-able demos. It is quite awesome for a reason.

I heard that the combat was ridiculously easy. This true?
I didn't think so, then again the computer I was playing the demo on wasn't quite up to par, and a really low framerate can make anything seem hard.
But, when it was going steady, it seemed pretty averagely difficult to me. I haven't played the full game, just the demo - and the demo is only the very beginning, we've gotta assume it gets harder from there.
Anyway, I'm quite looking forward to this game. I like a game that requires some stealth and planning before getting too jumpy. Hopefully it'll be as good as it looks.

My life is like a dragon, first praised, then hated, now lost.
The combat at the beginning was really easy (don't think I was ever hit) and then later you just swing from gargoyle to gargoyle and kill people.
I also didn't like the look of the game, overuse of normal mapping made things a little too shiny for me, and the brightly light air ducts were odd. "We can't get out," Look at vent with light shining through it, open it, "oh look Batman found a way out, he is sooo awesome!"
I think I am mostly irritated because game informer gave this game a 9.5/10 and dissidia final fantasy something like a 6.5/10.
Also this is my first post after months of lurking
This site is awesome
As far as the combat, well it is supposed to be fairly easy at points. You ever seen a Batman comic, movie, or TV cartoon? Batman takes down nameless thugs by the dozen without breaking a sweat.
I would compare the combat system to Assassins Creed meets Siphon Filter and then on steroids. There are a lot more beautiful artful ways to take out your opponents by the dozen. Multiple different ways to sneak attack a group of roaming patrols.
It is a game that gives you a true feeling of playing as the Dark Knight. I have been one of the lucky ones to actually play a boss fight (E3). I must say the boss fights are a bit more difficult. The game also progressively gets harder as the game goes on.
As far as a turn off because of ambient lighting in a air duct, well if that's all you have to complain about, stop playing video games because there are minor problems such as this in every game, even Final Fantasy.

but if it was a Marvel game instead, i would go and get it but isn't so i'll just wait for Marvel :Ultimate Alliance 2
I wish I could say this made any sense, but it doesn't.
The new Batman is dark, twisted, gritty, and full of highly satisfying combat. What else could you want?

Not Batman

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
