I woke up the next day and found someone had messaged me on MSN about it at which point I burst into tears, dropped to my knees, and thanked the High Heavens.
Been checking the diablofans forums pretty much daily ever since.
My reaction was one of pure shock and joy but the more info I got on the game the more bummed I became... because of..
1. I saw this stuff about "health orbs".
2. This dark cultist page here and it looking exactly like a WoW undead mage with the right gear, and it having the same exact spell casting animation as the WoW one also http://www.blizzard.com/diablo3/world/bestiary/darkcultists.xml
3. good graphics but just weird cartoony stuff in there that... really didn't need to be added to it.
4. No necromancer, and this "witch doctor" having the same skills as him almost... cheap knockoff...
5. Barbarian and his HUGELY glow affected weapons. I was rather repulsed by it.
6. Weird spell affects from barbarian, I mean I know hes magical but damn... He is not a Mageknight or a paladin.
So my reaction when I actually went to the diablo 3 site and heard about this stuff, i was from 1-10 a 15 probably in joy. Right now I'm at like a 5.

If you get personally attacked by letters through the internet its a good thing to always have a box of tissues and a band-aid around.

OMG NO NECROMANCER.
Your reasons for not being as excited for the game are petty and shallow. Grow up.

No they're not. What you're basically doing is wishing Diablo III was more like Diablo II. It's a different game. A good sequel is supposed to take basic elements from the previous titles in the series and present them in a fresh and - in many cases - different fashion. What you want is Diablo II with 3-D graphics.
Petty and shallow. Once again, I ask you to grow up.
At the time, I had no internet, so I set my alarm for 7 in the morning and walked to the nearest coffee shop with my ex-girlfriends labtop. I got there an hour early, and convieniently, the wifi connection didn't work outside, so as I waited with my heart throbbing, I paced in front of the store.
Once I got in, I instantly turned on the labtop and then purchased a nectar drink. Then I logged on and typed www.blizzard.com in the URL bar and hit enter while I covered my entire face with my hands. I noticed the brightness difference through my hands, and then I peeked out to see flames rising up and displaying the Diablo III logo. I shook my head in astonishment for about 5 minutes until I gained the courage to continue to the next page, where I was greeted with a well-animated Tyrael. I dripped a tear on the keyboard as I continued to browse the page with a huge grin on my face.
5 a.m. Streaming, getting kicked off the stream, streaming again. mIRC spamming people to come into my vent channel. First like 13 people showed up, then some spammed, some left, and then Sol showed up, invited his buddy, and finally they announced it and I got to celebrate it with Sol, the dude who i think owns hellforge, or just write a lot for them.
I'm pretty sure I teared up while I was screaming soundlessly.
It was probably the best gaming news I've heard in.... 8 years.
I wasn't even pumped up about GoW II or any Final Fantasy game that much.
Even though I'm a fan of both series, but hardly as much as I am a fan of the Diablo Franchise.
Happy...... and then sad thinking about how many days would have to go by before completion...... like every game

I let out a big sigh of disappointment and was like "Oh god it looks too fucking cartoony"
I then suddenly lost feed and waited 4 minutes.
I got it again and watched, sulking.
Hahaha!
No.

Hehe, yeah, that's exactly how it was for me, too. Oh well, the announcement was worth the endurance
