Aren't any of you worried that your beloved franchise will be smeared by a potentially awful movie? Considering the bad track record of games turned into movies.
Siaynoq, the movie I am speaking of is an Independant film. Most of the game-to-movie movies are done by major companies looking for money. From what I saw last time I saw it, it seems that it's going to be a wonderous movie.
(Mind you I am talking about a completely different film then what they are talking about.)
Hmm, I'm pretty curious about it then. Provide a link if you find more information. Link.
That's my plan. They have a site but it's been a while so I forgot what the site was. (I Certainaly hope they didnt cancel it or that Nintendo didn't cancel it...)
Edit: Son of a bitch! It seems that the movie hit a stand still. >.<
I'll inform all of you if anything of interest happens. *Dies a little inside.*
I would rather say the opposite, the "best" game movies are done by major companies (still suck major ass though) like for example Tomb Raider, most of the really bad games movies are done by much smaller companies (half of them directed by Uwe Bolle). I don't know of any really independant companies (on a really small budget) making a movie based on a game though, so dunno about that, but i don't see any succes that way. I rather see for example Halo being done by Jackson then a small independant movie company. Most of those "movieworthy" games tend to lend themselves to big budget imo. But to be honest i rather see no movies being made around games, imo it doesn't add anything, rather subtract what make games great in the first place.
Movie worthy games? How do you put movie worthy games and fps's in the same post? Thats...wow...
Either way, I think that the Legend of Zelda would be better done by someone who is less interested in money (IE Big Budget film companies) and more interested in the overall feel and look of the movie (IE low budget film companies).
What does "fps" have to do with the game being "movieworthy" or not? You think the genre matters like at all? Hmmm, ok. *shaking head*
Either way it would be total crap imo, with the only difference that the "big budget" one looks better and is more of a quality product, you can't seriously think "low budget" is capable of even conversing a percentage of Zelda to the big screen, it won't work and it never will, you simply would be left with an inferior product on about every level.
Fps's are all usually all about adrenaline and shooting and typically have shitty story lines. If you have to write a brand new story line then it shouldn't be on the big screen anyway.
As for the big budget vs low budget, this debate has been going on for ages. We will never ever agree, so let us agree to disagree. Deal?
Glad it was fake. I can't stand Zelda. I used to like Zelda and his games, but now I don't. The gameplay of the older games were alot more fun than the newer ones. They were harder more complicated more fun.
It's been in the works for a while now as some of you may know, but now it's finally finished! It has the Goddesses creating the world, the Triforce, a new Link obtaining the Master Sword after Twilight Princess and sword fighting with Ganondorf in the Chamber of Sages...all crammed into just under six minutes!
Dreamworks is pretty good at doing CGI stuff, so If they went the CGI route, that would be a studio to consider, I think they could do an excellent job of it.
but we are still really left with the issue of; Prequel, Sequel or of a game, then voice actors, esp. if the movie is of a game, who could pull off Link, when we have never heard him speak.
of course if the movie is a prequel this issue is somewhat fixed. Take OOT, if the movie is set prior to the events of the game, i.e during the war, then link woudn't be in the movie. well maybe right at the end as a baby or something, but not as a main character.
alternatively, if the LOZ movie was Conan-esque in the sense that the main character spoken very seldom, i think that could work, as i think Link would have to say something even if it was just a few words, nothing huge like a monologue, i cant think of a movie where the main character didn't have at least 1 or 2 lines, even if they were only a few words. But that still requires someone providing the voice.
IMDB.com lists the cast for OOT as follows;
Nobuyuki Hiyama ... Adult Link (voice)
Fujiko Takimoto ... Young Link (voice)
Jun Mizusawa ... Zelda/Sheik (voice)
Takashi Nagasako ... Ganondorf Dragmire (voice)
so its possible they could use the same people again, but that still leaves us with the problem of who to d othe dubbed (English) version.
this argument has been brought up many times, but who best to do the dubbed voices.
Ganondorf is fairly easy to cast, almost any actor with a loud dominating voice would do nicely, Michal Clarke Duncan, Michael Dorn, Kevin Michael Richardson, Dee Bradley Baker, Frank Welker or David Warner.
Zelda is a little harder to place, she needs to sound like a princess but not be all girly. something like Natalie Portman in the Star Wars prequels, perhaps Grey Delisle, Heidi Shannon, Kath Soucie, Tress MacNeille or maybe Natalie Portman or Rachel Leigh Cook, she was pretty good as Tifa in FF VII: AC
Link is the hardest by far, we haven't really hurt him speak, we have heard him grunt, moan and yell, but not speak. while i think that is quite unique as it give Link you voice in the game, this inst that practical in a movie he would have to say at least a few words. i cant really think of an actor to do Link right.
They could do his voice like in one of the Simpsons episodes where maggy ( or so) is grown up but when ever she wants to say something she is interrupted.
While that is a possibility, but that was only a few times in the space of 22 minutes, can it be done for say 1 hour and 30 minutes, or how ever long the movie goes for.
but that is assuming a LOZ movie is of a game, because as both Bingo675 and myself have said its possible for a LOZ movie to be a prequel and as such wouldn't include the three principle characters, or at least not as we are used to seeing them.

After I found out this is fake, I was shocked.
It hasn't been checked out with Nintendo, but what they have done so far (The real one) is really amazing.
I'll look for the site.
