World of Warcraft - Finnegin- Level 80 Enhancement Shaman
Also, remember the battle of five armies: Even though all these different people were fighting against one-another, they all forgot their differences to pull through a tough time and, as a result, became closer than ever before.
To summarize: Conflicts (Arguments, disagreements, etc), though sometimes harsh, can often bring people closer.
gargh, why do we have to go try and think what the themes of something is all the time. cant we just enjoy it, and not reduce it to something meaningful.
pissed me off when people did that with the Matrix, sure it has biblical references but theres no need to go shoving 'em in my face.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
One person, even just a few, can make a difference.
Hey Equinox, in your siggy you got that Allods Online thing. Isn't there something like that where it'll say like "Half-Life 2 Player" or something? Where can I get?

"Cards and flowers on your window, your friends all plead for you to stay,
sometimes beginnings aren't so simple, sometimes goodbye's the only way."
All i remember from the hobbit was that Bilbo kicked way more ass than Frodo from LOTR. Frodo kept getting pwned and nearly dying and just escaping while Bilbo was leaping around stabbing giant spiders...
yeah frodo is a wimp compared to his cousin bilbo. all frodo did was yell a lot and make sure sam was nearby to save his lame ass. the frodo in the book is more likeable though. he has a sharp wit in the book that you don't really see in the movies- same with my favorite character faramir;)
And the movies just slaughtered Faramir's character by making him into a chode. Faramir was supposed to represent what was still good in humans. But the movies made him wanna take the ring and I don't see why that was even necessary for even the movie adaptation to change.
he wanted to take the ring? I thought he just considered it then let him go. OH yeah i remember now... yeah that part was dumb. shoot a rewatch/reread is in order
This hardcore LoTR fan I know was so mad about that Faramir thing that as he was walking out of the theater, he saw this cardboard cutout of the Daredevil and he punched its lights out and knocked it over. He was livid.

hahahaha I couldn't stop laughing at that for a good while.:D I mean, I was mad, but I understand its hollywood and they gotta dramatize stuff and they need to satisfy people who didn't read the book or who don't like to read it.
livid and slag... two words that i've never heard anyone say before you've managed to use in your last two posts... you going for a record or what?

You look for userbars. I got that one from Userbars.ru, so I dunno. I'll try to find you one.
EDIT: It's kinda hard to find userbars back there because they are, like, just randomly listed... I even found a Heretic one, LOL, but, here's the HL one I managed to find:

Even a little person can make a HUGE difference.
One of the best books ever.
Anyway themes... I can't think of any off the top of my head, but...
I think there could be a theme coming from, the head dwarf and Bilbo's friendship by the end.
I got one.
Don't be obese and fall in a river, if you do, your friends will have a hard time pulling you out.
I'm sure there's one concerning Elf vs. Dwarf relationship.
To summarize: Conflicts (Arguments, disagreements, etc), though sometimes harsh, can often bring people closer.
I think the biggest and most obvious is the conflict between good and evil. >_< or at least that is what most internet sites i have been on have said.
Im really bad at themes btw, so im sorry
