"You are like a rose in a great rose field. Each rose is so beautiful to me. But if one dies... I can still look at many other roses..." God of Darkness.
I was gonna point it out, but then I realised that there are many forms of 'bible'. Its probably just slang, but there can be other things like 'the writers bible' or the 'handy-man's bible'. You know, like, a book that forms the basis of something.
Pretty sure those examples stream from the Christian's Bible. But I get where you coming from.
You have to be careful i think when mentioning objects that have significant denotions and connectations to Christianity, in regards to Diablo, sure the game and lore has similarities, but they also differ hugely. Inquisitional religions in Diablo are not direct copy overs from real life, while Inquistors are present or were present in both worlds they are not exactly alike.

Your list is pretty good. Few points good be better stressed or developed, but as a whole not bad. Least you didn't mention elves and orc. My God and I sick of reading that, unless it is too say you don't want them.
We are way off topic...
Indirectly I think.
The topic may be characters/classes we want to see, but there is a small degree of characters/classes that can be in Diablo III.
You might like the idea of the Knight's Templar the holy warrior/priest type. and would like to see something similar in a future Diablo game. But as Christianity as it is present in our world is not in Sanctuary, it wouldn't be a direct cross over. Certain aspects sure. His devotion to his cause definitely, his style of dress, his habits and practices but not so much his faith in it's entirety, i.e Christianity, The father, the son, the holy ghost, the virgin Mary and all that. Instead he might be a member of a sub section of the Zakarum Church, the closest thing to Christianity in the Diablo world.
In short when you are thinking of what you would like to see, you need to also comtemplation to some extent what can be. And apply a few modifications to your idea/s.

I think your ideas are pretty good fbim. I like the ideas of a Dark Sage. However I think there should be a class for necromancers, a class for sorcerors, a class for light mages and one for dark mages.
Necromancers can summon the undead, use poison/bone skills.
Sorcerors use elemental techniques.
Light mages uses holy techniques + elemental techniques but modified to be more holier (Ie. Holy Fire bolt... that was just first thing that came to mind).
Dark mages would be opposite of Light mages, of course. You'd have elemental skills, but more dark and evilish. You could also summon demons, rather than the undead. And the dark elemental skills would be like Dark Fire bolt, or something. Y'know?
However fbim, I am SO happy you brought up earth spells. I have been dying to see some in the Diablo games. Especially after watchign Gaara of The Desert from the Naruto animé, damn sand techniques would be BADASS.

If you read the 2nd post of this thread, you would see he was not the first to suggest that.
Elementalist specializes in elemental based magics, and this is what his skill sets would be divided into -Fire fairly obivous -Water(ice) again fairly obvious -Earth, conjuring up walls or rock to trap enemies or stop ranged attacks, opening holes in the ground to swallow his enemies, for a better look into the powers of earth magic check out Avatar the last Air Bender, and the Anime Full metal Alchemist.

Ah thanks Elfen! Sorry I didn't look. Just when I see extremely long threads, I have a tendency to only look at the later parts of it.
Also, kind of what you partially mentioned there (You said water[ice] ). I think have actual water skills would be cool too. Shame they avoided that in the previous versions. Conjuring floods and rain storms would be nice. >:]

Most games have cold based spells, or ice based spells. Blizzard, Ice Storm, Glacial Spike, Ice Bolt etc. Summon Water Elemental is not a Cold or Ice based spell it's Water based, obviously.

Can't we have a class who could craft his/her own weapons by collecting minerals, metals, rocks, elements etc etc?
It would be the primary skill unlike the horadric cube. The cube could be taken by any class but this class could have the ability of crafting weapons/armor which other classes wouldn't have.

I agree full heartedly. Something like Runescape, where you go out, mine different ores then smith the ores together to get solid copper/steel/iron etc. then go to an anvil and make gear out of it. That would be neat, plus you could have different variations of steel, which could result in a stronger weapon being made (Ie. steel: 2 parts iron 1 part coal would be weaker than 3 parts iron and 1 part coal). However, the addition of such a thing will make getting items much easier, so it would make gold less valuable? Actually, after thinking about it a second time, sounds like getting items easier than money even more... hmmm maybe it will make gold more valuable?

Man, I hate all that 'collecting ingredients' thing. When I played Morrowind, I hated finding all these plants that I may or may not use in the future, but I would always collect them anyway, just incase. I always have this 'just incase' urge, and its really annoying. I'd rather the option not be there.
But if its just one class that does it, then maybe.

! I am just like that in all games. Especially DiabloII and Morrowind. On Morrowind, I always specialize in Alchemy, so I always take all ingrediants possible for the whole 'just incase' urge. As dor DiabloII, if I see an item and think it'll be helpful in the future, I'll keep it, no matter how crappy it is. (Wow, I almost said creepy and not crappy, thank goodness for the backspace button, LOL)

I was just thinking about the description for the warrior in D1, how the class are basically various melee fighters, be they soldiers, or mercenaries, all hailing from different places. It would be interesting to see that kind of class translated to D3. Perhaps a class that used melee weapons, yet fought without such rigorous training that barbarians and paladins undergo, using kicks and pummels in their fighting. These warrior possess a rudimentary knowledge of magic gathered from their travels and adventures in the crypts and labyrinths of sanctuary. These warriors, in addition to their in-combat skills, are also practicing blacksmiths, and while they cannot fully repair weapons and armor, they can temporarily increase the effectiveness of their own or others' armor and weapons.
Anyone respond with feedback to my latest idea, as well as my other class ideas (that i tried to fit into current lore) on page 89
Sounds like you're trying to mix like 4 already established characters and a few imaginary ones in to a new character. No, we shouldn't strive to make new "unique" characters, we should only use characters that were already present in Sanctuary, like all of the old characters, and Vizjeri and stuff. We don't need any "dark Elf Monks" or any of that shit. That kind of stuff it what turned me away from many other MMO's and RPG's. We need to maintain the unqiue Diablo flow of battle and item gathering (although I do support the use of gold as currency than items).
Maybe there should be some kind of town man where you can make your own items. it would be fun
