@ Siaynoq yeah I know not for D3, although it does start to stutter a bit if in the beta if I'm using dual mointors. I just meant in egeneral probably time to upgrade
Even though i'm enjoy upgrading my hardware, recently i decided to slow down until new console generation comes out. For now my q9450 and gtx470 seems more than enough for most of games. And it's kinda sad... I remember good old 90s and it's charm of regulary graphic revolutions.
That's why the 6xx series is so awesome, the game doesn't need to support it, that only goes for the 5xx series. Upon its release, not every game will support TXAA, but a quick work around is to force TXAA via the Nvidia control panel.
There will be an FXAA override in the GeForce 301.10 driver, TXAA will need to be implemented for each game by the developers sadly.
MechWarrior Online, Secret World, Eve Online, Borderlands 2, Unreal 4 Engine, BitSquid, Slant Six Games and Crytek have all chosen to implement TXAA support.
I forgot which upcoming games will have this feature encoded into the game engine but this is something that will be enabled in the game settings. There isn't a TXAA setting in the NVIDIA Control Panel.
I went Crossfire with my 6950's before realising micro stuttering was an issue I'll be sticking to single card from this point on but in no hurry for an upgrade at this stage, I get by perfectly fine with my current set up/
They play sc2 at 1440x900 at ultra so I have to admit they're still pretty good cards.
EDIT: I know this isn't the computer thread but I'd like some thoughts on this build I'm thinking of making.
CASE: Antec DF-85
Mobo: Asus Sabertooth or Crosshair V Extreme
Ram: Gskill (2x8GB) @ 1600MHz
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1100T ( I will OC)
CPU fan: Phanteks PH-TC14PE Red or White OR a Corsair H80
GPU: Either a 7970 or GTX 680 not sure they're pretty even but DX11.1 sounds good, and TXaa sounds nice as well.
PSU: Antec CP 850 or Corsair TX850
HDD: already have a shitty WD 500Gigs
SSD: already have a Vertex 3
ODD: already have a lite-on Blu-ray player

I used to lag a ton on ultra sc2 with that card, same resolution. Now I have a better monitor so it's worse. Online I have to go low-ish settings or I lag out of games. Single player however isn't too bad, less units generally. I can go on high iirc.

My friend uses this card, cause I had a spare and he didn't have a comp so i built him parts with my spares. For him it works fine, I'm almost 100% positive I have him at Ultra settings. I'm surprised you didn't get the same results. Its a good card.
