The Fleshlight with some extra spiffy features? Why is it as technology improves we always seem to pervert it? We haven't found a sure thing cure for cancer but we have 8 different pills for impetence.
I do see it happening though, yeh it will probably come to the stage where we have Gynoids (A hyper-realistic female (or male) robot created specifically for sexual companionship).
-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
I don't think the invention of a pill that cures impotence has adversely affected the research of cancer in any way. And it's perfectly natural to combine sex and technology. There will always be a market for that sort of thing. Why not make a proft off it?
I can understand a dildo or a virbator or even a french tickler, but a sex-bot? Yea...not so much...
But there was a time when no one could understand a vibrator. And now that's just considered a normal thing. What makes you think a sex robot won't one day become acceptable?
i read the article, and this is just wrong in every way... kinda pathetic if you ask me. imagine a person going to buy one of these... it would be terribly embarrasing.

World of Warcraft - Finnegin- Level 80 Enhancement Shaman
See second link in first post for "proof" of this. LOL.
Anyone here seen Ghost in the Shell: Age of Innocence? it's premise is a sex robot flipping out and killing the user. But that series does raise some good questions, "when machines learns to feel, who decides what is human?"

But seriously for a moment, I understand there was a time when Vibrators and Dildos were taboo, but they were just seconary stimulates, a robotic wife or robotic husband would be the primary stimulate. When that happens, life as we know it comes to an end.

The entire Ghost in the Shell series raises a great deal of questions. It's very deep, even if it is a cartoon. o.o Though I think that would be for another time. *Coughs.*

I would agree that it's quite pathetic. But if any of you reading the article are genuinely surprised by it, then you vastly underestimate both the human imagination and the entrepreneurial spirit.
But yea, seriously for a moment, I can't see people marrying robots. Thats like trying to marry a dog or a cat...
Not at all. A dog or a cat cannot and never will function like a human. A robot can (theoretically, not in today's world) look loke a human, feel like a human, and behave like a human.
Which by my standards also makes it human.

Of course it would. Bu then again, when we have robots perfectly capable of being like humans, you won't be able to buy them anymore. They will be citizens.

Robots will never have sincere emotions.
And you base that on what?

I'll stick with the real deal, it may be more complicated in the end, but its worth it in my opinion.
Which you also do not know. Yet
I think this is inevitable, as do I think almost all imaginable forms of technological advancements are. We will one day be able to make intelligent machines. We will also one day be able to emulate or recreate human cell structures and, if we want, "manufacture" human beings. Of couse, once we do get to the point of technological advancement that enables this (which will not be within 50 years, I'm not talking about the same level as they are I suspect), our whole society will have changed. Not just born humans will live in our society, but robots as well. And the will funcion intelligently and on their own accord. I'm not saying they will be in bodies, walking around on the street and buying groceries, but they will work with us.
The problem of course is that you will no longer be able to throw out your old computer; it would equate murder.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
we can already grow heart valves, and they are working with a type of printer that prints layers of specific types of cells so that they stack up and create whatever organ needed.
If it does come down to having sex with robots. How will the human race survive? They can't breed with humans. It might come in th future though. You may never know.

Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.
unless we make female robots into gentic cloners, so you could fuck it and flip a baby switch and the robo woman would grow a test tube baby inside the robo womb from your seed.
