I just think that if some of our posters have gone through a F*CK load of effort to make something like these then the Dfans mods could help promote them on the official forums to draw more attention to them from the CM's (Community Managers not Critical Mass Wizards..) and other players.
I don't think the (main) reason why fansite mods were given MVP status is to advertise their fansites. In fact, I think it would be frowned upon by Blizzard and many forum users if the fan sites start competing on the official forums by reposting their "best of threads" just to draw people away from these forums.
I also think it's unnecessary, as 1) usually these people (at least Edriel) posted their ideas on the official forums and Reddit as well and 2) Blizzard reads DiabloFans, they are unfortunately just lurking and never post (I don't know why they post on Reddit, but not on the other fansites to be honest).
If fansite MVPs shine through thoughtful comments, helpful advice, and insightful posts, people might think "hey, this guy is cool, let's check out this website" and it could be way more rewarding than using the MVP status as an advertising tool.
I usually just lurk the official forums. The amount of trolling is unbearable to me. But I guess I could help promote a more active discussion around these interesting posts/threads.
Also, I haven't been given that MVP status (so they weren't really given to mods). Maybe only guys like overneathe (managers) did. I'll have to ask around

I am not saying it is to advertise their fansites but more to promote some of the quality content that was produced by the communities there.
Obviously if the fansites abuse the privilege then Blizzard would just take it away from them..
I never go to the other fansites unless Blizz has done some "Community Commentary" to say - hey look at this 'best of thread' at this fansite. To be honest I quite like that way.
If this MVP type of power can highlight those posts from the fansites to some of the CMs so that they could decide if they are worth a "Community Commentary" (like the fansites thinks it does)... then I think that is a good thing.
The case in point to me right now is Jaetch's Archon Guide.
- if that doesn't get a repost on the official forums by Blizz CMs then I think that is sad...
I just want some of the members here who put forward well throughout polished posts/videos to be given a better chance to be seen by Blizz. So if Dfans mods can help then i think taht would be awesome.
If they can then it may be an intensive for the posters on Dfans to work even harder because there is more of a chance that Blizzard and more of the wider community would see it..

I think I remember when Sixen had MVP status he said that the MVP status had ways of getting in contact with Blizz CMs a bit better - ie not having to do a forum post to get their attention. I could be wrong though..
Thanks Zero, would be cool to know what nephalem powers he has..
Hi Guys,
So I saw that some of the Fansites have been given an MVP type status when posting in the official forums.
I think that it could be a really good mechanism for the DFans Mods to promote some of the really good posts/videos/interviews that Dfans has.
It is suggestion threads like Edrial's and MrMonstrosity's that could be reposted by a Dfans mod on the official forums.
Or awesome guides like Jaetch's recent Archon Guide http://www.diablofans.com/news/1936-jaetchs-archon-guide-new-affixes-among-future-content-blue-posts-gamescom-2013-stage-activities/
- It sort of got buried on the main Dfans page (with a lot of other news being added straight after).
I just think that if some of our posters have gone through a F*CK load of effort to make something like these then the Dfans mods could help promote them on the official forums to draw more attention to them from the CM's (Community Managers not Critical Mass Wizards..) and other players.
Thoughts?
