As soon as I found out that it was going to be >5 months before we see the itemisation patch hit I was guttered… The carrot I was waiting for was no longer in reach so it has forced to play other games (FFXIV PS3 Beta).
Blizz have been working on it for a good few months already and I guess I just want them to drip feed me some carrot juice every so often so I feel like something is getting done/ get excited about.

SHOW US SOMETHING! I AM HUNGRY FOR A CARROT!
I just wanna smell the carrot to see if it's worth the wait.
I'm just coming back to Terraria with 3 other friends man that's SO much fun. It's "item hunting" done right. You find a golden chest and see there's an Enchanted Boomerang, feels so good!
I find it sincerely doubtful that they will let the whole summer go by without giving us some kind of blog or written status about what's been in development lately. I could be wrong of course, but I really think that within these next few months before Loot 2.0 comes out, they will give us an article on something.
This is the time when a huge portion of the playerbase of D3 are on vacation from school, work, etc. and again, I could be wrong, but common sense would argue that summer time would see a lot more active players in general. I'm hoping they won't leave us all in the dark for so long throughout the entire summer without even giving us some kind of written update at the very least, even if there are no new screenshots yet.
I don't know. I'm just rambling. Come on Blizz, give us something.
I will update you , they have 4200 people showing into public games on eu , 5000 at the most and on any given forum the number of viewers in a trade item topic or something interesting is about 200 so that makes the posibility of that 5000 people online in publics a lie , and the fact that we can aproximate the european comunity at no more than 20-30 000 people with all the absurdities involved in that.
What I just said makes the game dead period , you can't sell items , you have no socialization (from day 1) , even general chat is on a region basis , jay wilson made this game terrible , I do hope that someone can save diablo for the sake of diablo 1 and 2 because d3 is not diablo at all , i can alternate a maximum of 6 skills , I have no stats and no brain need when making a char , there's a 0000000000,1% chance that an item that drops will be a 50bilion sale or a 250 euro sale and the funny part is that even if you're luckyer that the last lottery winner in d3 , nobody will buy it since it does not make sence to spend money on a game that has 30k ppl on europe , unless you're a fanatic.
I wonder.. we all bought D3, the console version should be free for us. Or at least a nice discount.
Honestly if they sold the console version to people who bought the PC version (or vice-versa) for like $20 that'd probably go a long way with the PR. And, in reality, I think that's a pretty damned fair request.

Yeah, that would be nice... But back to the really real world... Entitlement is for babies. Sorry guys, but in all honesty, the game was released. We have seen some great improvements and Blizzard is focusing on a console version right now. We will get that carrot juice soon, just be patient.

Good day to you.

On topic: Blizzard works slowly but relentlessly. The most up to date news is that they're still working on the things they said they were working on.... yawntastic, but true nonetheless. I still wish they'd ditch this whole "We don't want to cause forum shitstorms by announcing things then changing our minds". They do that anyway... WTB monthly updates, screw the blowback.
I feel the same feelings of the OP. Since i heard that we won't have loot 2.0 before Blizzcon, i couldn't find the will to log and play D3.
I'm getting annoyed how they are shoving the console version down our throats and all questions related to itemization or future features are avoided or just pointed to previous interviews (Archon's stream interviews mainly), which were a good read, but as usual, they were just tease and a bunch of "we like the idea, we might, probably, soon".
And what happened to "Ask the Dev"? They were so open few months ago with the community, and now i feel like Blizzard shut the door in our faces and keeps total silence... I just want steady news and communication

I think Blizz purposly did not publish the Archon stream interviews in a feature article post on the offical forums because it was basically a lot of admission of failings or infomation people would not like to hear..
1) They said in hindsight they should not have released the itemisation blogs so early
2) They talked about all the issues - added very little planned solution information
3) Said that it was not going to ready till at least after Blizzcon..

Meh... rant over
They said they would be more vocal, share information about the development but all the CMs say is 'we have nothing to share with you right now'...
Which is total bull. They have stuff they could tell us but just not anything substantial.
I would be ok if all they did was went onto the forums and said hey we have this idea called X that we are talking about in our meetings. what are the communities thoughts on this? Can you help iterate?
Eg We are thinking about adding 1 new type of gem. - what type of affixes/effects would you like them to give?
Doing something like that is in someway a carrot that distracts us for a moment while we wait for this patch...
Get to Paragon level 100. They are going to be making changes with higher paragon level? XP farm over item farm, items are changing anyways, well maybe some of them. If the items are changing, make w.e money you want now with items you don't really need in your stash.
It's all about preparation people, eyes on the prize.

D3 is in a really awkward place right now. As it is right now, its already fun to play in moderation, but the constant outlook for better systems, itemization puts a hamper on actually getting down and gritty with it - why grind out the levels and gear now when it'll be more entertaining further down the road, not to mention that itemization could completely turn everything on its head anyway? D3 has the wrong approach to longevity in that prospect, at least to me.
I know what you mean. Anything we do could be the wrong choice. Then we look back on it being a huge waste of investment.
Things that won't change though are better investments over others is my apporach to still trying to enjoy the content.
But enough said because really anything that happens after I reach para 100 might be moot anyways haha.
While the logical person in me wants to say they won't show a single thing until it's 100% finalized, which being this far out means nothing is, the D3 player in me wants to at least get SOME info on something new. This is the first time I've actually stopped playing regularly since release, because without any good items to hunt for currently, why farm?

The game is awesome. The items aren't. I see it as just that simple. Because the item hunt is paramount in a Diablo game, this creates quite a schism for players such as myself. I feel the desire to play, but when I do I don't play long, or at all, because the thrill of the hunt is entirely absent.
I quit some 3+ weeks ago, but tried to enjoy the game a few times over the weekend. Most of the time I was logged in I was AFK, doing something else or otherwise un-amused while putting around.
Get those items right and the magic that was D2 will be there in D3. I just don't want to play anymore, and it's only the items that have made me lose my way. It's so strange, a game that's so damn fun to play can be ruined by poor items.

It happens the same to me, at times I want to play D3 for hours, then I play 10-15 minutes, I ID the 20th useless garbage rare and I alt+f4. It's a shame, because the game has great potential.
