The problem is you think you deserve it just because you want it. It's Blizzards game, they will make it the way that they want to. You either play the game, or you don't.
That's like saying if you buy a book, you can't quote from it to your friends or make notes in it, or color it the way you want.
You are delusional.
It's more like buying a car, taking the engine out, replacing it with a jet engine, flying your car around in the air screaming "WOOOOOO!!!!" then getting shot down by an F-16 because you can't do that shit, and as your flaming crappy modded Ford Focus plummets earthward you're all like "WHAAAAA??????"
GTFO with the mods, jesus christ, this isn't 1992. Nobody cares but you and about 20 other people. IN THE WORLD.
haha this guy wins the thread.
Not really. His comment makes no sense. He's acting like a stupid teenager kid. I know that you guys like to take the minority and bash it, but come on, when are you guys going to grow up.
In the real world, some people make mods, some people play mods, some people don't.
If you don't like mods, gtfo yourself and don't play them. They are not hurting you in any ways or forms.
Caring that much about things you don't like is a hint you might need to see a doctor about yourself being narcissistic. This is a serious issue that I hope, you will be able to cure once you grow up and gain more maturity.
Now kids, I will leave you at your ridiculous game of "calling names" because I have more important stuff to do. I hope you do the same.
By no means am I a fanboy of Blizzard, the only game I like of theirs is Diablo, but to tell them that they should make the game the way you want it is what is ruining the gaming community. Having a voice be heard is one thing but being "outraged", as many of those who claim to be modders/love mods, claim to be is obnoxious at best. As I stated before, even though I don't use mods I have nothing against those who do, but it is ultimately their decision how to make their game. If their game mechanics are so broken and "inferior" then why do you play them? Games such as Call of Duty are being ruined because Activision has decided that everyone who bitches deserves to be heard, so they focus more on that then they do advancing gaming as an art.
You definitely sound as "Blizzard can do no wrong", and thats not the stance anyone objective would take. And no, I dont "demand" anything, nor I say everything community says should be in game. However mods are WIDELY spread common sense phenomenon, greatly endorsed by community, in ANY area. Even OS and programs now offer customizations, what to speak of games. Even if you dont care about UI adjustment to your liking, you would lie if you'd say dont care about spamming, and its a FACT devs dont come even close to community anti-spam filters.
P.S. What mods have anything to do with game mechanics? I'm not sure you even understand what mods do, and what I even write here.
A game mechanic is a functionality in a game, such as chat, user interface, or even character progression. And on top of that I never said Blizzard can do no wrong, I am saying when you play the game it should be because you like the game for what it is, not for what could be done to "make it better".
^This. If you don't like a certian featurefeature, don't play as much or if you don't like enough aspectd to where you don't like a game, you should just say screw it.
Also I don't think anyone would deny Blizzard is making some really bad moves(strictly bad moves at that, not even there's two side to it), but you know what, if Blizzard acrews up the entire game or enough of it to go this game is meh(not saying they will, but It's possible), don't buy their game(unlike most companies that are deluded, Blizzard would actually probally take notice, and learn from their mistakes, if not the sharholders certainly will).
Buying a crappy/subpar game(just because you could make it better), only gives developers the idea they actually released a great game. The modding community doesn't help fix the issues in the gaming industry, they only make things worse.
Blizzard has already stated they do not want D3 mods. So to complain about that fact, especially here of all places, is completely pointless. Besides, the game is already far too late in development at this point, even if blizzard cared, which they dont.

No, it's more like saying if you were to somehow get into the data file of a book that went out to all Kidles and you started to dick around with it. Changing words and effectively altering the book for others that may not like it or want it. You could potentially write something better than the author but I highly doubt it.
That's incorrect. It's more like getting into the data file of your personal kindle and fiddling with it, to make the screen brighter and easier to read or the lettering darker or the Kindle using less energy. It affects your Kindle. It isn't mass uploaded to every other Kindle on the planet. You can give your friends the data to change theirs as well, if they want.
Criticize all you want but it's your OPINION that the mods make the game better.
Taking a look at the number of addons for WoW that have become part of WoW itself, and the number of mods for Diablo and Diablo 2 that have become part of Diablo 3 itself, I'd say this OPINION also belongs to BLIZZARD as well.
The irony is that many of the new features that are included in Diablo III were already seen in multiple mods over the decade. I think that says something. If they thought that such additions were improvements, than, by Blizzard's very own consent, such mods were improvements over the original game.

And this is not WoW, this is Diablo. Just because WoW has support for mods that doesn't mean that Diablo has to have it. Blizzard already said they took a huge chance by making mod support on WoW available, and they don't want to take that chance with Diablo.

Mods of previous games generally are implemented by Blizzard into newer games.
Again, I appologize, I didn't know you were a wow-rager.

I have played WoW, in fact I played it for a good 3 months before deciding it wasn't for me, and what does this have to do with the fact that Diablo isn't WoW? Just because they supported modding in WoW doesn't mean they have to support it in Diablo 3.
Nobody is saying that they should support modding. Blizzard never supported mods for D1 or D2. But they also did not mind if there were mods made for them as long as it did not interfere with battlenet only server play. But for D3 making any mod will be against the Eula and likely be banned.
Like it was stated earlier Blizzard have used some of the the mods in either some of the D2 Patches or even in D3

Seriously LinkX.... just stop talking. I guarantee you are one of those asshats that sympathize with the hackers that brought PSN down for a month... you seem to think that it is Blizzards job to suck your cock for your $59.99. You paid them money (which btw $59.99 isn't all that much) and you won't pay them again until they release an xpac.
Diablo 3 is not WoW. You are not paying a monthly fee. You are not paying $180 a year. You are not paying this $180 a year for multiple years between xpacs. If you think you are so fucking entitled to mods, go be a smart consumer and go play a different game.
Blizzard has every right to ban mods. This whole thread is a pefect example of why they should. So many of you have so often cited that the community can make better UIs... well maybe blizzard doesn't want to have to deal with people undermining them and making them look bad (horrible PR). Blizzard also doesn't want to have to deal with people installing a mod... having technical issues and running to tech support. Blizzard also doesn't want to have to deal with releasing their code to the mainstream... allowing all formulae to be publicly announced and turn diablo 3 into an e-peen "I need grow my cock by having 3 more points of dps" fest.
They have their reasons for not supporting modding. They are a Corporate Entitity, and thus have the right to do whatever the fuck they want with their products within their legal rights.

Yea I completely agree.
I'm against blizzard on atleast a handful of moves revolving around the D3 project, but I need to stand by Blizzard on this, not only is it their decision, they are 100% in their right to make such a decision(on top of that, there are more legit reasons to not allow modding, then to allow such, especially when you add all the negative things about modding together, logic dictates It's not worth the risk).
Mod makers do not need to have the source code to make a mod.
Median XL is one of the most popular mods for D2 and not a single code edit was done. Players did add a few other plugins such as PlugY. There are a few more as well since LoD 1.10 did open up more of the text files to be modded.

I dont get it, mods are really fun and really added to alot of the Diablo fun, even D1 mods are fun as hell. I mean I had a blast with Eastern sun, the new items/custimation stuff and I even played back to hellfire on D2 and I also really enjoyed that. Shoot The hell for D1 was absalutley beautiful. I dont see how mods are awkward and goofy.

I'm sorry, but then what the hell's the point of this forum? Since everything they (Blizzard) do is within their right (as long as it's legal) and we shouldn't even talk about it, then why is everyone here? 100% for the news? Or are you supposed to be here and write all day long about how great Blizzard are and how you want to fondle their genitals, since you can't say anything bad?
And if Blizzard don't want talented people undermining them and making them look bad in contrast (by creating great things), they should either hire them or do a better job. Bottom line is this game is being build around having a stranglehold on the player, and mods certainly contribute to preventing that.
I find it interesting that everyone who is so agro for the mods claims those who present an argument for Blizzard are automatically considered fanboys or that they think Blizzard never does anything wrong. Do I have to remind everyone that Diablo 2 is 11 years old? When the game first came out people didn't immediately jump on the modding bandwagon, after 5 or so years modding became more prevalent because there was a lack of content coming out.
