And seems like he has a bunch of new stuff too.. skills that you can use to create a completly new play style with him.
Exactly. Why would diablo 3 have to change its heroes that did so well in diablo 2? WW owned diablo ANd baal's faces hard so why not do it again? WW was one of the coolest skills conceptually at least. The barbarian is a classic class and is now a staple to the diablo series, unless the northern barbarian lands get destroyed if there is a diablo 4 i expect him in there too
(there was no real reason for the cool guy smiley, i just like him)

Well, if the DII barb was so awesome in DII why not keep playing that game.
I'd just rather see WW incorporated into some other class, or being transformed into a different users. I mean we'll end up with WW barbs again. Repetitive.

Yeah, it's 3 2:30 Am here. Blame the individual Xapti.
I just don't imagine WW not being a final skill. Aka skill people will max either way. It currently has 20 possibly points. Suggests that people may want to put points in...
I think bringing the barb back is good for the story and plot. You feel like you really transitioned from the previous game to the next. Not like it's a totally different plot/story-line with all new characters. Technically the barb did already fight Diablo once, right? (with the rest of the other heroes from D2.) So I wonder If Diablo will recognize you if you fight him as the barb in D3.
Although you do have to give up a perfectly good character space to bring him back. As long as they don't bring back more than 2 old characters im fine.
It's kind of the same way they brought familiar characters back from D1 into D2. It just really gives you the feel of it being a continuation of the story.
I don't mind it at all.
Seems like he will have a lot of new interesting skills.
i think bringing back the barb was a horrible idea in the sense that it should not have been the barb from the original game. It would be assume to have a new barb however as with some changes they would be a super awesome and fun class to play
Here are the three main classes for medeval games:
- Warrior
- Mage
- Rogue.
You can have combinations of the above, and slight deviations, but ultimately they all fall under one these classes (except healer which is really a mage, but nobody likes them anyway).
In evitably, medieval character will have to deal damage to opponents, and they can only do so by using the above methods. Any deviation and it isn't medieval, thus all games of this genre are limited. "Completely different" is near impossible and usually ends in failure.
Actually, healers with HoT's (Like druids) are quite fun to play.
Also, I feel that the Barbarian is being completed with Diablo 3. It never felt fully completed and now, it feels like they are fixing that. Which makes me happy.

How was it never complete in diablo 2 when compared to all the other classes?
I just personally feel it never reached its full potential. Sorceresses, Necromancers, Druids, Paladins, all seemed to outshine it every step of the way.
(And when I said druids in reference to healing, i meant WoW druids.)

Yeah I assumed you meant wow druids ima wow player to I noticed that
The barbarian when compared to the other classes is probably better off in terms of being well rounded and better put together for pvp/pvm and single player then most of the other classes in many ways i thought, espically when compared to the assassin
Blizzard did the right thing, and here is why. We all know that us Diablo fans, are the biggest naggers, complainers, moaners...etc. Say they did another class, called it "The Death Mauler" or whatever nifty name, gave that character a lot of muscles, some long hair, and a couple of tattoos. Then what do they do? They give him the Whirlwind, just rename it to The Dance of Death, and rename Leap, calling it Heavenly Assault or something. Can you begin to imagine all the nagging that would occur, with stuff like "OMG..THEY THINK WE'RE DUMB! IT'S JUST THE BARBARIAN WITH A DIFFERENT NAME!"? So, they just spared us the speculation, and spared themselves the trouble of having to put up with constant fanboi bitching. Putting up a versatile Barbarian that isn't just a pseudo-bouncer type of character, that has more than one dimension would be more than marvelous, and that's hopefuly what they're aiming at.

Which is similar to what they have done with the witch doctor and wizard aka the necro and sorc for D3

I agree. Both don't really have stand-ins that make suitable new choices, and they're pretty popular classes.
Also sorceress skills are going to look awesome in D3.
