I remember that in 2011 around September there were many posts about Diablo 3 having lag free combat because Blizzard has developed some new system which would let client to do the calculations and server to verify them and if server fought client is hacked or smth it would disconnect it.
What happen to that great feature which would make HC audience so pleased? I can't seem to find much info about why it is not working now or was not implemented eventually by Blizzard. Somebody let us know/ask Blizzard (to those who have beta) ?
So, it sounds like the game is being run on you computer and the only thing that the internetz provides is just compiling data sending it to blizzard and them checking for "foul play," cleaver... and the AH of course. So it seems that Diablo 3 could be a single player game but needs that connection to the sever to prevent the kill command. That what gather from that read.

You now know as much as I do. It looks that game should be able to calculate all, at least as far as combat goes. I've even seen some you tube video comparing D3 to D2 client-server lag stuff and there is no comparison. D3 had no combat lag at all and guy had 230ms latency.
Problem is that Blizzard may had found that there is a way to cheat game in that new server model and may have removed it completely. I want game which is cheat resistant obviously but it would be sad if they couldn't do it without removing that new client-server model.
I'm a believer that there is not a completly cheat proof game. If there is a will for a cheater there is a way, if there is an anti cheat function a hacker will find away around it.
Their system is illogical. The world of server-client security isn't very complicated in its core. If you give the client freedom, you open opportunities. The more you limit the check ups, the more people can bend it with hacks and such.
If there is no "lag", then there is a lack of checks, and there are holes for hacking. Its plain and simple logic, I don't know how they could think they're reinventing it.

Which I think is pathetic! ...... Why can't they just play the dam game and enjoy it, instead of trying to hack and make their toon uber strong and kill thing one hit... That might sounds good, but is not legit. I judge these kind of people as their life are so shitty that they would have to do these kind of things to make them feel better about their plaintive live. They just want to increase their EP.

There are not many if all cheats in WoW. But it does not have any new client-server mode like this one have. I really don't know. I know that I would like this system to work mostly for the sake of HC players. I will play HC if this system works.

Many of these people may not really use their P yet They are just smart kids or 3rd country users who either do it as they don't know any better or can earn a lot of money on dupes etc considering the low payment in their countries (imagine earning 1$ per day in some places). I don't know really but there are ppl who kill others as they have some gene which makes them do it (kinda). Maybe there is smth similar for cheaters. Maybe it is an illness

Which is exactly lead to my point, they do it to make their lives feel more exciting... At the expense of others. sad sad sad
I buy D3 for the same reason. Nothing wrong with excitement. But yes, it would be good if they do it legally. But as Garak from DS9 says:
"The truth is usually just an excuse for lack of imagination.". So maybe we don't cheat as we don't know how or it is too time consuming for us to do so. For me it is just a game and I would be very upset if I found a way to cheat it as it would break my experience and not make the game more exciting.

Rampage glitch
creating mass amounts of epic gems(this patch no-less)
Flying at 900% speed
Reckoning exploit
Myriad of unfair ways to get Love tokens(hello up to 14,000/hour)
Pets that can do over 32 million damage
Instant cast no-cd Seed of Corruption explosions
Hellfire glitch, Duping glitch, Flying glitch, getting to GM island, Bots, etc. These are just a handful of the major ones that have been around in the least few years.
That's to say nothing of the HUNDREDS of smaller glitches that only give a small advantage(AMSing hagara's water makes you invul to it, ice blocking too, Leaving arena gates early, etc etc)
Every game has glitches, bugs, and exploits. Every game has at some point in its lifespan some form of hacks. Every game WILL be comprimised at SOME Point. That's not even including real hackers. If they're good enough, they can do literally anything they want.
Will diablo have issues? OF COURSE. Will their be exploiters? OF COURSE.

Then it's up to blizzard to make it so it does not spread to much. They do quite a good job with WoW. Having RAHM in D3 will ensure they kill all the bugs asap. I at least hope so. If not, well, it's just a game and I will switch over to some other if I loose an interest someday. Titan should look good
The only thing bad about the Beta, for me any way, in terms of Lag, is the Hit lag. You can't dodge mele swings, they seem to always hit.
Hoping that goes away come release. There was a Jay Wilson Tweet not long ago that allueded to the fact that stuff like that would not be there in release (along with stuttering to load stuff the first time).

I thought I read somewhere that mobs have a 95% chance to land melee hits? I could have totally read it wrong though.
lmfao. u guys.... beta is beta bro. complain about online-only after release if it lags. personally ive had zero lag issues the entire time ive played the beta so i have no idea what some people are complaining about.

The game is pretty lag free when servers aren't bogged down though...
Beta is freaking overloaded. Retail will have more servers.
