diablo was on PS1, but d2 wasnt on PS2 (or PS1) so why would D3 be on a console. i think the graphics might be to demanding for the console, WOW isnt on console, and i think the diablo graphics even if it is in a kind of updated isometirc view, would still be too taxing on the console, so it is best for it to stay on PC.
but that is just my oppinion

Blizzard already said they have no plans to expand on the console market for the near future so i guess we wont see any Blizzard games will there's at least PS5 out (Since "near future" is quite long if you know Blizzards policy).
i for 1 hope diablo3 comes for the ps3 it will be so great finalya diablo game for ps3
i like how u say "finally". its like you've been waiting for ever for it to come out on ps3, ps3 just came out
and if d3 does come out on a console, i think wii would be most suited control wise. I doubt it will cuz ithe lack the power but i still think it would be better fit then ps3
Blizzard doesnt need to expand to the console market to get the money they want/need. All of their games are best-sellers. And expanding to the console market would need them to hire more programmer teams to work exclusively on the consoles. Thats a risk they dont really need to take, so they wont (as they already said).
I wouldn't object to Diablo 3 being released on a console, albeit I'd prefer the 360. Since when it comes out on the PC, I'm certain I'll still have the computer I've got now which isn't that great for running new games.
I simply cannot afford a new gaming PC. However, I do not believe a new Diablo game would be so advanced that neither the PS3 or 360 couldn't run it. And if it was, and they released it for one of the consoles, I'm sure that'd be the purpose of having the console version cause they would do to the game whatever is necassary to make it run smoothly. Maybe slightly less textures, enviromental effects, things like that.
Marketing wise its a risk to try and expand on a market for which u'll have to use completely different controls than in the PC while whatever you make sells like hell for the PC.
Check Diablo for PS and Diablo for PC. Completely different controls, the Playstation version was way less fun in most ways. (That for Blizzard).
Now see about Revolution and Broken Sword 3. It was made for a console base and its controls completely sucked for the PC version of the game (well, the game in total kinda sucked but thats not that important atm).
The way the Blizzard games get out is completely PC-centric. Mainly mouse, some keyboard keys. I dont see a reason why to try and make things hard for themselves when it works that well.
now about:
well they dont really need to make diablo3 either, they could just keep on selling wow expansions.
all games go old. They also said they're planning to support WoW for 5 years with expansions etc (about 1 expansion/year). They also love making awesome games except making money. Diablo and Starcraft are 2 awesome franchises and they're not that stupid to simply dump them for their current money-maker (WoW). Time will come when its old, and something newer will be needed. These guys are way ahead in marketing and most likely have everything planned.
yeap i agree with u completely FingolfinGR. No need to move it to console cause it works so nicely on pc, for me thats the main reason why blizzard shouldn't even atempt to move to console.
they did try to expand to the console market a couple years ago.
Result?
Starcraft Ghost - Postponed (indefinitely)
most of what i'm saying is based on what Blizzard does or says they're doing. Theres no chance at all to see Diablo 3 on a console. Theres almost no chance at all (almost goes for Starcraft Ghost that we have no idea if its going to be released and when) that we'll see a Blizzard game on this console generation either. By what Blizzard said at least.
best Blizzard console games were Lost Vikings and what was it Rock and Roll Racing. but they were made exclusively for console (Gameboy).
BLizzard games do well on whatever their primary machine is. Diablo/Warcraft/WOW/Starcraft on PC, Lost Vikings on GB.

i seriously doubt that blizzard would attempt to make a console verion for a game like diablo..the formula that makes diablo such a huge success would fail miserably, like d1 did on the ps1..
it would be a waste of money, plus they would risk flushing one of their biggest franchises down the toilet..
no, it was by Blizzard. It was the exact same game with different controls. And one of the things that made Diablo so fun was the bashing on the mouse which wasnt there in the PS1 version. Plus u couldnt check the ground for loots as we did on the PC version.
but hypothetical, if blizzard would decide to convert there diablo3 game to either 360 or ps3 or both, and include everything the pc version haves (that also includes keyboard and mouse), would it be a bad game?
usb should make it possible to use mouse/keyboard or both. But the thing is such things arent yet compatible with the consoles. But even if they kept the same controls, it requires completely different programming, that programmer-wise would feel like a whole new game. They'd need to recruit programmers equal to the (top) ones they have for their PC projects, and thats not that easy.
could they even have the same b.net for pc and console?? or would it be 2 different ones... wow can i see the east vrs west fights turning into pc vrs console ones lol

If you ever meet a hafling and a hungry dragon you dont have to outrun the dragon, you only have to outrun the hafling.
