Edit: They just released the US demo. So you can find it on Gamershell , filefront, etc.
It definitely has a few things that could be implemented in D3.
1. The automatic gold pick up is an awesome idea in D3 but sacred 2 has a neat function as well. By pressing a single button you can pick up everything around you immediately. When the button is pressed a circle flashes briefly around you highlighting the range of the pick up and everything around you is deposited into your inventory. This has been a huge time saver so far.
It can also be customized to ignore normal/broken items and just pick up magic, unique, or gold.
2. Combat is pretty nice too. Now in diablo 2 you could click and hold down the mouse to keep attacking a single enemy but when they enemy died you had to click on the next enemy to attack again. In S2 you can just hold down the mouse and it will automatically attack the next enemy under your mouse cursor. Very nice and a lot less clicking.
3. This one is a little more far fetched. When you are not at a merchant in S2 you can still sell Items by Ctrl+left clicking an item in your inventory but you will only get half the gold you would get if you sold it at a merchant. I doubt this would make sense with D3 but I found it interesting none the less.
I myself can't wait for this to come out. I like Sacred, I just hope it is a little more challenging, the only hard part was killing the dragons.
1. This was already in place in regular Sacred - and I love it.
2. I think this one was already there too. (I don't remember clicking a lot in game.)
3. I like this one. I would pick up everything to sell, those trips back and forth to the market were a little annoying. I wouldn't mind that you only get half price.

1. I like it, grab and go.
2. At least i'd feel like I'm doing something by having to click onto the next monster, just holding a mouse button makes me feel like a paperweight.
3. I could see having the ability to melt things down into gold, silver, bronze...pieces. And of course the base metals you get from the items would be worth less than the actual item.

I have a suggestion for you...download a bot and then its a lot less clicking overall. Seriously there isn't much to do in Diablo other than click on an item to pick it up and click on an enemy to attack, and you want to get rid of this?

The gameplay of Diablo, especially at harder times, suggests much movement, ability usage, and careful choice of whom to attack. Clicking is not as frequent, at least, in my experience. I am not against this option; I see no use in it if the gameplay is to remain challenging and true to the series.
Thanks for the feedback. I am sure you are not alone in your disgust of Sacred.
One more thing I found out about Sacred 2. If you get the special edition of the game you get a little imp guy that you can call with the Z button and he basically lugs around your entire stash chest. So when he comes up you can dump stuff in your stash from anywhere in the game.
Some people would hate that as well but I wouldn't mind it seeing as sacred does not have town portals and the map is huge (Waypoints are scattered pretty far).
My only beef is they make you buy the special edition to get that, as well as the high def texture pack.
I guess I am more of a casual player when it comes to Diablo(only played online a couple times and never bothered trying to beat hell)
I'm not sure if someone said this, but I think diablo three already does have automatic gold pickup. But the game looks good I think I'll try it out, thanks.:P
I really don't like selling to the air either. Maybe if there were merchants or something at checkpoints, but that makes almost absolutely no sense and I already want to take it back.
I played Sacred 2 demo yesterday, and here are my thoughts: most of Sacred 2's new additions are made to remedy the problems that Sacred 1 had, and while some ideas may be transferred into Diablo, not all of them are fit for Diablo. I think the function that picks up all items in a radius is quite ingenious. It would make Diablo runs somewhat more enjoyable. On the other hand, I would not support the option of selling items into thin air. In Sacred, this works well, because the landscapes are huge and there are no town portals. In Diablo II, such a feature is not required. In DIII, they are removing town portals as of now, and the Sacred idea may or may not be useful.
The thing about Sacred 2, is the combat system. It's no longer a hack n slash that was used in Sacred 1, it's world is built with " MMO " in mind, and it's combat is at the pace of MMO.
Being able to pause the game at anytime and chose your moves is dungeon and dragons style similar to Neverwinter Nights 2 and Baldur's Gate. The combat is much slower than a normal Hack N Slash, and the overall movement is that of an MMO. I don't get why Asacaron calls this game a Hack N Slash when it clearly is not. The animations are slow and boggy similar to Neverwinter Nights 2 Multiplayer.
Holding the Click and killing one enemy after another can feel a lot more monotonous than individual clicks and combos as well. Diablo 3 combat system, and Sacred 2 combat system, two completely different types. Hopefully the controls in Diablo 3 won't be like Sacred 1's where my fingers were in a tongue twister because of the way skills were placed on the numbers only unless you did a config file edit.
Just played till level five... Game sucks, in my opinion. It's not intuitive like Diablo 2 was. It took me a while to memorize the hotkeys to open each category and I didn't even know how to do the skills and how you can make combos until level 5 and that's where I stopped.
The questgivers / quest sucked as I really had no fkn idea where to go to do the quest even when I opened the map and go to the right location.
Combat sucks, very monotonous and the spells sucks even more. This is 2008, at least have better animation for spells.
I could go on and on but it's 5:00 AM here and I'm tired.
Sacred should never be compared to Diablo II, it's a totally different game and it's not really devoted to combat as much as it's devoted to exploration and character building. I do not know how could you get lost with the quests, though, finding them is extremely easy.

As far as gold and merchants go, I'd like them to remove the cap of how much items are worth. I have a 50,000 armor and it only goes for 35,000, like what?

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.

2. I'm neutral on.
3. I don't like. It just doesn't make sense to sell it to nothing for magical gold unless a little birdy is flying it to town for a fee.

2. I dont like it. In Diablo series you click things. Whats the point if you dont break atleast 1 muse every other month?
3. I like this idea the least. Whats the point? It just seems weird. Where would the gold come from? Where does the item go?
