Jan 19, 2012pwnsickle posted a message on System ChangesAlso kind of confused as to why they spent so much time encouraging the "fast paced combat" aspect of the game and then eradicated the main systems they added to compliment it. But, I can't say I dislike the changes.Posted in: News
As for the stats, I don't mind them being changed to their current standing. However, I don't understand why the creators of the game just recently started to realize that they needed to be changed. For a major system like stats, it should have already been concrete by now. But, at least they're perfecting them and sharing with us what they're doing.
I liked the mystic and enchants and I wish there was a way to make her cooperate with the game instead of removing her entirely. Hopefully she'll be reintroduced in an expansion... -

Sep 30, 2009pwnsickle posted a message on What Do YOU Want To Know About Diablo 3?Can you describe the Wizards energy source, since it is not mana?Posted in: News
Has PvP been developed at all yet, if so, can you share a bit about it?
Will the fifth class wield a ranged weapon or be specialized to do so?
Will there be "rooms" that allow more than the regular amount of players for trading or PvP?
When do you plan on releasing graphics on the male wizard and female monk?
Is there anything else we will buy with gold, other than items and armor? (services)
Will there be "rest stops" or "mini towns" in the world of sanctuary?
Will we be able to buy any runes from a vendor?
Will runes be as rare as they were in the last game?
In terms of dimensions, how much bigger/smaller will the D3 map be compared to the D2 one?
Will there be a ladder or hardcore mode?
Edit:
Quote from "Bhaal" »Ooh i have one that i think is pretty good. Will skills visually change when upgraded? for example a lvl 5 mongrel would be bigger than a lvl 1 mongrel.
I like that idea -

But then again it is said that this is not final, so who knows what will happen? -

Good news that everyone gets teleport though. And I'm glad I can have mongrels as a witchdoctor without having to go completely summoning. -
May 2, 2009pwnsickle posted a message on About The PatchPosted in: NewsQuote from "Gerard" »Hahaha that's what they usually do, and that's why they said *maybe*. People usually complains because they never release enough dates...
Like most of you said, if it requires testing, and lots of testing, there has to be a whole new area, not just a boss. A single boss / event would just require a bit of tweaking.
I'll take that they removed immunities. That would just be the best thing to do, make a whole lot more builds playable iin hell. It was so freakin annoying to not be able to play your char anywhere unless it's a hammerdin... And now it needs lots of testing, since immunities were a big part of hell's difficulty. Seems logical.
I sure hope you're right -

That, my friend...
would be AMAZING.
The first time I played the game I went through that place for like an hour wondering what it was for because it seemed so epic.. or they could make a quest out of it? -

I like the sound of that a lot more.

I feel like they're having trouble getting some of their conceptual game mechanics to work out realistically, and now they're tweaking them against prior motives in order to release the game... bittersweet.

While I'm hopeful that it will be ready for us by the time I've got a level 60, I can't say I'm too confident in Blizzard's ability to release content within a reasonable time span... I guess I'll be stalking some sort of release date even after I've got my hands on the game.

If you're wondering, my other active skills in the beta are Fire Bomb (main attack), Grasp of the Dead (as an AoE DoT/impeder), and Zombie Bats (burn enemy health as an AoE when mobs are close.) I just keep Zombie Dogs up at the moment because I don't really have any other skill that I'd use, but when I observe their damage output, it is extremely low compared to other attacks.
In case you guys don't have the Beta or just aren't up to date with the current stats, Zombie Dogs do 15% weapon damage each and three are summoned at a time. While a total of 45% weapon damage seems fairly weak compared to most other attacks (which are usually above 100%), try to keep in mind that the dogs are constantly active until they die and it isn't needed to constantly cast them like one would need to do for other attacks.
So, what I'm debating is... is it worth a skill slot to have as a constant background attack? What do you guys think?
PS: All my experience is based off the beta, but you're all free to debate whether you think the skill is worth it in beta or in the actual game; both are cool to hear.

But then on my third playthrough with the barbarian, (who I never really liked in Diablo II) the game felt really well put together. I think that at first, I was so excited to finally play the game that I just rushed through everything to get to the end because I just wanted to absorb as much gameplay as possible, when I really should have played at a normal pace and enjoyed myself.
So my advice would be to try to play it more and to play it with each character. I've since gone back to the Witch Doctor and he is actually my favorite to play as.

Nice find! And if you want video proof, the crimson rune just adds damage to each of these attacks.
