I think the idea of killing "manymanymany" monsters with big parties is good... There will act bosses like diablo (he can be respawn in every 1 minute after killing)...
Actually, the letters that people discovered, WOD, doesn't necessarily need to be World Of Diablo. I kinda see a Diablo : World of Destruction. And I can't get this outta my head.
Better singleplayer game with fine multiplayer, than MMO, at least because storyline in MMOs sucks, and quests are all the same.
Yeah true. That is the way today's MMOs are at. However, if this WOD was started a year or 2 ago, then it could be VERY different. Maybe a new kind of MMO experience...
I would love to see a "World of Diablo" Of course it would be completly a different game from diablo as we know it, but I would still like to see a MMORPG set in the diablo universe

Events in the past may be roughly divided into those which probably never happened and those which do not matter.

Diablo = small co-op play
Diablo isn't MMO
Therefore and Diablo MMO = not Diablo but some twisted spin-off made of fail.
Your honour, the defence rests.
Diablo in its curent form is a small co-play game. There is no reason why Blizz couldnt make a larger MMO world in a diablo universe. True, the thing I love about diablo is the small population in a game ( 8 people) and the fast play style, but I would still enjoy the diablo universe set in a much larger populated game with more indepth storyline for quests.

I wouldn't mind it as long as they kept up with producing the regular Diablo series also. I like the HacknSlash style. MMO could be interesting if they did it right though.

exactly. I would never want to see a Word of Diablo replace the traditional diablo series, but I dontthink it would hurt to have it. And I think Blizz is more than capable for making this game and making it very well.
Assuming its done right, I would make the switch form WoW to WoD without looking back.

If done right it could be very popular. I would actually love to see it. If D3 is a big hit, it's a possibility in the future I'd say.
It is possible to transform Diablo into an MMO whilst still keeping with the fast-paced nature of its single-player counterpart. One particular MMO, Ultima Online back in the early days, achieved this remarkably well. The combat aspect of that game was very fast paced, and it also gave players a huge variety of skill combos, and a multitude of battle tactics for each skill that worked very similarly to D2, despite it coming out after the MMO.
The only problem with a Diablo MMO would be the fact that the big guy himself would be immune to death, since having him killed by players early on would cut short the whole point of the MMO.

UO was amazing back then, I wish they'd re-remake it. Still a great game but it lacks compared to now a days standards.
Wold of Sanctuary would be a better name for it. maybe have the game set in sanctuary which is over run by hell and stuff, and depending on what class u choose u start at their tribe's location and eventually.... wait nvm World of Diablo would sound amazing, especially if you could be on one of three sides.... the humans which have the different classes (barbs, sorcs, sins, etc.) the angels, a class u could only be in if ur qualified enough (like you have to do certain quests to become an angel (but you must start as a human race). theres also a hell minion (they could come up with tons of different classes for those).
World of Diablo can work.
It would be pay to play if it was an MMO.. If it was to be free, then we would be seeing coke ads everywhere to cover blizzards costs. People don't realize this!
I was disappointed Diablo 3 wasn't an MMO but I'm still quite happy about more of the story. I'm sure Diablo 3 will leave quite a few things open for a sequal, we just won't know until we get our hands on it.
I also heard that Blizzard intend to make all their major franchise into MMO worlds. Fingers crossed for the future.

Indeed. However... Somehow I will love it anyway :).

WoW is far far far from FAST PACED.
There is no way to incorporate Diablo into a WoW-like format without being a duplicate of WoW.
"WOD" / "World of Diablo", doesn't fit as there are still 2-3 more runes/pictures/letters.

I'm glad you took the time to read some of the posts towards the end.
I already said I wouldn't mind seeing a Diablo MMO as long as the regular Diablo franchise continued as a hacknslash.
