One of the main things which are limiting other players and myself is how and where should one be shooting the twisters. This is important on packs and of course the boss. Sometimes the twisters stick to the wall and stand in one place, if you are able to replicate that consistently and have them all stack on the RG it is a breeze to kill him.
Has anyone tested and figured out how to make the twisters stick? Any suggestions on the wall or corner which is to be used, your position relative to the RG and wall and where do you aim? At the RG or the wall?
Anyway if anyone has any clever suggestions please share with the community as this will benefit many players
p.s. Another huge bonus is that all the twisters will merge into a bigger one for ultimate damage because of skill mechanics, reseting the timer on the twisters and it still counting as 2, etc.
Yup, this morning i tried and a bit hard to find the good point, but not an impossible thing. The best for practice if u put the game on normal, and use Familiar - Arcanot, Energy armor - Energy tap, and the passive Astral Presence, and para points also can help. Obviously u dont have that much arcane power if u r alone.
I made video from it, ( i no want to spam my videos, only help to understand other wizard mates how to do )cos dont saw any tutorial of this. Im not talking but the essential to hit the right point. I guess in party more easy to spot, cos u have unlimited AP.
Some point very hard to shoot the right direction, but some spot easy as u can see my video. Watch my cursor and start practice like me
Thank you guys, the video and suggestions have helped me better understand this... I will try for myself to see the best places. BTW to test it out I think that it is best to use etched sigilso you don't have to worry about AP
Hello. I want to share some thoughts on this subject.
First off; Excellent video Fiftyfan.
From my experience you can play up to around 80ish with ancient gear and around p800-1000ish. Then with augmented 80ish gems in a bit more than half your gear you can play gr85+ish. With good use of the twisters shown in the video you can more or less easily add at least another 5 levels to what one are doing. It is essential for every good group to use this IMO. It requiers a lot of synergy between players or to use skype\etcetra to make it smooth in use. And its pretty hard to pull off in the start.
Before i started using twister stacking i was stuck around gr85 and i built most my groups from community channels playing with randoms. but then i started using teamspeak and organised some better groups with friends and good people i had met from community channels, we used twisterstacking and started doing 90 rifts. I still need a few ancients so i can augment it so should be 95ish soon.
Just saying that this is really bollocks to be doing with random groups or at least a hard strategy if the barb and monk isent aware of what kind of spots to look for to setup for the wiz.
Really great video because it was more or less the hardest info to find about playing dmoET wiz. I had to watch and talk to streamers before i found out about this, but there still wasent any vid's on it yet. It's becomming more widely known nowadays because more and more people do runs where they farm trash and skipp boss kills, these runs lets you fight in even higher grifts and focus 100% on killing with stacked twisters. It's massive exp gain..
It's possible to stack twisters all kind of wierd places. The dungeon kind in the video are the easyest but generally there are surfaces everywhere you can stick them to. It's a matter of possitioning and targetline to where you place your mouse from what i know - some times i target far far offscreen before i manage to make them stick. It's son of a gun hard in a lot of places. At best I feel I am medium good at doing this and still it has pushed me a good 5 rift lvl's and it's really hard some places, needs some training. Total value.
Trying to not make the post to long. I want to end it with a open question about how people maximise dps when they fight singel target and are resource starved? I have my own way and will give it up next time i check in
Yeah a type so much way to find some tutorial but didnt find. So i start trying and im done now Push it guys!
I think all about experience. I usually use ts, but i have few mate who dont need it. So they learn quick and just positioning to right place. Very hard to find good supports nowadays. Now is harder to be a good support than dmg.
Thanks for putting out this tutorial and video. I'm going to go practice targeting my twisters as you've suggested and get better at it. There's theorycrafting and practical advice like you've given and both are greatly appreciated.

I completely agree with your numbers and conclusions
It's really interesting that they do this for 2.4.1 mid-season, they never really cared about OP metas before or were too afraid of leadboard meddling.
Even with the announced changes to the sets I don't see a class being able to compete with 2.4 ET wiz, which makes the leaderboard pretty much set in stone once the patch hits live.

The patch is just called 2.4.1 (instead of 2.5) because it won't have any major features (at least doesn't look like it). But it will NOT drop mid-season.

Here this my take on a guide of how to stack twister. I think it should be clear and I adressed most questions here.
Hope you like it:)
2.4.1 PTR notes
Twisted Sword is getting a cap at 5 Energy Twisters
May the time where everyone got carried by a Wizard come to an end.

Yes this bothers me more than it should.
But patches apply to non season too
