What weapon would you go with if you don't mind me asking? It's hard to pick lol http://imgur.com/livAmAg I'm currently using the fire arsenal spec for multishot.
One question, whats the best build for fire UE using Kridershot? If I go to imolation arrow I need to use polar station.....and the great night stalker is useless with it. So, Immolation + Polar or Frostarrow? Blood vengeance over night stalker or ambush?
For UE fire, what about 'regular' 1h crossbows? For example, what would you pick between a 3,559 Danetta's Spite and a 3100 Balefire?
Regular 1h crossbows are more or less the same as 2h crossbows, probably a little worse (only for solo). I wouldn't recommend to craft or use them if you can. In your case take the Danetta.
I was actually wondering a similar thing; I have a pair of Ancient Danetta's with 3,368.6 DPS (Revenge) & 3,328.2 DPS (Spite), respectively. Both have RRC (8 percent & 9 percent) and have already been enchanted to have +10 percent DPS (and socketed with Ramaladni's Gifts). I've been running this build using Natalya's 6-pc (5 pieces with a RoRG) relying on Vault--Action Shot & RoV for damage, but am wondering if I'd have more success using the weapons with UE instead....? (I believe I have six UE pieces already, so could actually switch to F+R too...) And if so, which UE build would be best (lightning, fire, cold, physical?)? The few times I tried running UE (when I only had 5 pieces + RoRG) weren't met with much success, but am considering revisiting the build now that I can use F+R.
Thanks again for all your contributions to the D3 community, btw!
Just got an ancient krider with +1397-1752 dmg, 10%dmg, 918dex, 11 discipline. I'm not sure what to reroll, damage range or socket to attack speed? Can get another 200 min/max dmg, so that seems like an obvious choice, but it feels weird to not gift it.
Areadmg is apparently not affected by multipliers such as BotT, Zei's and most importantly UE6. How does this affect current gearing until this issue is addressed?

Kridershot assumes Ess of Johan, if you don't have one probably Frost Arrow is the better choice. Drop Night Stalker and use Ambush or Steady Aim
Is it better to use immolation arrow or still use evasive fire as it regenerates more hatred per second
Damn you with your Kridershot Immolation Arrow only works well for solo if you have Ess of Johan, but you can try Frost Arrow. For groups, Immolation Arrow + Mortal Enemy will be good as well

Probably socket to IAS, could be a little bit less dps, but you might get 1 more cast in your F+R rotation, which makes it worthwhile.

Not much, but obviously it will affect the relative difference in power. M6 will get better compared to UE and Nats, UE lightning will be a lot weaker (especially with Ess of Johan), same for Kridershot + Immolation Arrow. I will try to find out by how much I have to reduce the effectiveness of Area Damage and then change some numbers around and compared, off the bat I assume that the potential will decrease by ~0.5 / 1 / 2 tiers for M6 / UE fire / UE lightning, which contributes to Nat's being at the top right now, since it does not really rely on area damage that much (at least the currently used variation including Stampede).
The best weapon I've found/crafted so far is Odyssey's End. Do you think if picking Entangling shot is a good idea? It also works with BoTT and adds more damage from abilities. Or is this not worth losing 'instant' dmg and chill effects and higher Hatred generation from EF:F?
Q: I have a 3300 Arcane Barb and a 3300 Calamity with the same dex and discipline values, which one should I take?
A: In this case it's pretty clear that the Calamity is better, the reason being that you lose one primary on your Arcane Barb. For the spreadsheet, I always assumed you would have RCR on your weapon, a 3300 AB obviously has Dmg + IAS, which is worse than RCR. All of the differences assume equally well rolled weapons as a % of the maximum rolls. Having a 3000 dps Arcane Barb and a 3000 dps Calamity with equal stats will favor the AB because your Calamity rolled like crap.
Q: I have a 3200 dps Bow and a 3100 dps Crossbow with almost equal stats, which should I use?
A: The crossbow. Generally, your Bow has to have about 5% more dps to break even, Calamity and Balefire are pretty close if they only have about the same dps as your crossbow. To be safe, I'd use them if they have 50-100 dps more.
First off, thanks wudijo for this awesome source of information.
The above answers just confused me a bit.
In the 1st question you said that a 3000 dps arcane barb is better than a 3000 dps calamity (with equal stats).
However, in the 2nd question you said that Calamity and Balefire are pretty close if they have the same dps as the crossbow.
So I guess my question is how much more dps should a calamity / balefire have over an XBow for the calamity / balefire to be better?
Hey Wudijo, thanks so much for this great resource. Would you mind elaborating on this a bit:
Elemental damage is better than dexterity or CC on amulet, up to 5-10%. Probably even a 15% roll is preferable. Ancient dex value might be close.
Do I understand you correctly, that an ammy with Elem/CD/ancient dex could/would be comparable mathematically to ED/CC/CD?
Edit: this would assume CC of 60+% so that a loss of 10% still keeps one at 50% chance +.
Also may make a key difference whether running with sader and single out as mentioned. It seems to me that if you are close to hitting the max then that 1000ish dex becomes significant. . .
I get that, but if you are pushing 100% cc in a 4 man 60+ that might shift. Just starting to learn about the very high end of UE here. Perhaps with the lack of single out in effect most of the time that advantage becomes moot.

Yes, ES is good but probably difficult to pull off correctly. Evasive Fire should do almost equally well (if you have Iceblink)
so i got 2 quivers with allmost the same stats . one has 200 more dex (59% double hit) the other 1 more diszipline (51% double hit) wich should i take . the higher dex one would give me 1.1% dmg
Clear winner is the 59% quiver. Going from 51% to 59% should be a ~7-9% dmg increase by itself.

I realize they are a little confusing, I will rework it. For now, you can just use what I mentioned there: "To be safe, I'd use them if they have 50-100 dps more."

Elemental + double crit will always be preferable, the rest depends on your current crit and dex values (that's why 5-10% to give you a rough approximation). Going below 50% crit chance is definitely not a good idea, you will gain 45 from Judgment and Single Out, so 55 would be the max if you don't want to cap. Best case would be to drop CC from rings and use average damage or attack speed instead.
I have a 3421 DPS Izzuccob with 12 disc and 1.5 Hatred Regen that I've already rerolled/gifted. Is there any point in crafting arcane barbs to replace it? My understanding is that I won't be able to get 5% more dps on it. Likewise, should I bother gambling for a better 2H at all?

Quick sanity check on math. Double hit on X% life bar should result in an effective life reduction of (X/2)%. That is a 50% quiver should reduce effective life of enemies by 25% and a 60% quiver should reduce effective life of enemies by 30%. With that metric the 59% quiver should be granting 5.6% DPS from its legend effect over the 51% quiver (1-.255)/(1-.295). How do you estimate a 7+% increase off the legend effect (the maximum possible increase should be ~7.5%)?
With regards to a bow needing 5% DPS over a crossbow how do you make that conclusion? Are you using the flat damage spikes as a metric or... /curiosity
Regarding Ambush - when using DML wouldn't its relative value go up due to the boost in DPS off the top to hit the DML breakpoint? Can the two procs overlap, IOW can I get the ambush buff to apply to a DML double strike if the first shot takes from >75 to <60? I *believe* DML can proc itself if the first hit drops below 60 then it will give itself the second hit, you don't need to be hitting with the first shot at that 60 breakpoint.
RCR's value? Wudijo has it everywhere yet when I've swapped in a piece of gear or two it just doesn't seem worth the loss of straight DPS to hopefully get one more MS off. Am I missing something here (like do you need a metric ton for it to be worthwhile)?
What about Bat vs Wolf? Solo vs Group? I have tried both a LOT and still can't really decide - overall DPS is higher with the wolf, and in group it's hard to pass up on the buff BUT the bat does help a bit with hatred management. Still I can't help but think it adds maybe one MS to the cycle and surely that isn't worth losing the wolf's buff?
Is M6 Cold the only viable build with Etrayu? Just got a very good one, I wish to have Krider with these procs

"Areadmg is unaffected by multipliers" http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/17085919721
A quick ingame test showed me similar results: http://imgur.com/uKNKP9g,WfWi351,zubFf1I,xp9dZjU,kS2QBnn,Lz8JGek,wdS69K9#0
Areadmg is apparently not affected by multipliers such as BotT, Zei's and most importantly UE6. How does this affect current gearing until this issue is addressed?
Both should be fairly close, just check your "fire damage" in the extended sheet tab and use the higher one.
20-25% Odysseys buff is in the "Damage Increased By Skills" category, so it works completely differently than 10% on weapon
It's crap, but might be good with Danetta's and Ambush for T6
Cold MS is crap, yes. Haven't seen any other viable cold builds other than M6 yet.
Buriza is only good for the "generator only" builds with HA right now, but still worth keeping in case you find a perfect one.
Unbound Bolt
Kridershot assumes Ess of Johan, if you don't have one probably Frost Arrow is the better choice. Drop Night Stalker and use Ambush or Steady Aim
Both are really good, I'd try the Balefire first. 10% dmg reroll

Hey
which one of those should I use and how to reroll them?
http://fs2.directupload.net/images/150426/lva7x2u8.jpg
My goal is high level group play. I'm currently playing w/ UE, but I would be open to NA if that provides more dmg output.
Hi Wudijo, thx a lot for your efforts on this guide and all the useful inputs.
A short question to you or other DH specialists. I'm running UE Fire build with DML.
