For UE fire, what about 'regular' 1h crossbows? For example, what would you pick between a 3,559 Danetta's Spite and a 3100 Balefire?

Regular 1h crossbows are more or less the same as 2h crossbows, probably a little worse (only for solo). I wouldn't recommend to craft or use them if you can. In your case take the Danetta.

I was actually wondering a similar thing; I have a pair of Ancient Danetta's with 3,368.6 DPS (Revenge) & 3,328.2 DPS (Spite), respectively. Both have RRC (8 percent & 9 percent) and have already been enchanted to have +10 percent DPS (and socketed with Ramaladni's Gifts). I've been running this build using Natalya's 6-pc (5 pieces with a RoRG) relying on Vault--Action Shot & RoV for damage, but am wondering if I'd have more success using the weapons with UE instead....? (I believe I have six UE pieces already, so could actually switch to F+R too...) And if so, which UE build would be best (lightning, fire, cold, physical?)? The few times I tried running UE (when I only had 5 pieces + RoRG) weren't met with much success, but am considering revisiting the build now that I can use F+R.

Thanks again for all your contributions to the D3 community, btw!

posted a message on [2.1.2] My last Tribute to perma SS Lightning DH - The Build that could have cleared 55

A quick note to say that I still used your lightning build as my primary set-up for Grifts up until patch 2.2 came out, & am still using it somewhat in 2.2 (did explore Natalya's 6-pc for a bit after the patch came out). Although I was never able to attain permanent SS, it was a *lot* of fun to play, & it was the only setup in which I could get Grift keys up to level 43 during trials (all the other builds I would usually get a key in the mid-30s). I never actually cleared any Grifts in the mid- to high-40s while doing solo, but I always came closest to doing so using your lightning build, and definitely appreciate you putting the whole guide together for it. Thank you so much for sharing such an awesomely fun build with the D3 DH community!!

posted a message on Four gear questions - Pride's Helm, Marauder's Spines, bracers, bow

Thank you for the reply, Liquirius. Quick follow-up regarding #1: Would you stick w/ my original Pride's Helm, or enchant the second one to Cluster Arrow? If the latter, would you enchant the Vit or Resist All? I'm usually under the impression that RA > Vit in terms of EHP, but just want to confirm.

    Thanks!

posted a message on Missing Post...?

    Hello,

I posted a question regarding equipment just before the Lunar New Year holiday & was surprised that I got zero responses over the 10-day break that I was away. In fact, while I was away, I tried performing a search for it occasionally from my laptop, but it was not showing up at all. :-0

I just got back home from vacation & was using the "back" button on my browser to see if I could view the post again from my desktop PC, where I originally typed the post up. It was entitled "Four gear questions: Pride's Helm, Marauder's spines, bracers, & bows". When I reach the page where I'd actually viewed the post live on the Diablo Fans site, I am now getting the message:

    ----------------------------------------------------------

    Forbidden

You do not have access to perform that action.

The URL for my post should be:

    http://www.diablofans.com/forums/diablo-iii-class-forums/demon-hunter-the-dreadlands/113733-four-gear-questions-prides-helm-marauders-spines

Any ideas why my post just suddenly disappeared, &/or how to recover it? I really don't want to re-type that long post up again... :-0

    Thanks,

posted a message on Four gear questions - Pride's Helm, Marauder's Spines, bracers, bow

Four questions regarding equipment on my DH:

    1) I have found two Pride's Helms so far. The one I'm currently using has:

    +706 Dex

    +5.5% CC

    Cluster Arrow +11% damage

    Socket (via enchant)

The second one will supposedly give me better stats overall (+0.7% damage, +33.6% Toughness, +5.6% Healing), but doesn't have a socket yet:

    +703 Dex

    +725 Vit
    +95 Resist All

    +6.0% CC

Consequently, I'm wondering if I should get rid of the Vitality or the Resist All to try & get a socket (i.e., is 725 Vit > +95 RA, or the other way around)? Or just continue to use my first Pride's Helm? (I don't want to enchant to Cluster Arrow damage cause I occasionally play Lightning Build with only Ball Lightning & Meticulous Bolts quiver...)

    2) I have two Marauder's Spines that I've been rotating between:

    +493 Dex (via enchant)

    +453 Vit

    Reduced Resource Cost 6%

    Companion Damage 15%

    And

    +497 Dex

    +94 Resist All

    Reduced Cooldown 7% (via enchant)

    Reduced Resource Cost 8%

I just obtained my first pair of Ancient Marauder's Spines, but I have not enchanted it yet:

    +648 Dex

    +118 Resist All

    +14% Life

    Reduced Resource Cost 6%

Am looking for advice on whether I should enchant & get rid of the 14% Life to try to get Reduced Cooldown (or Area % Damage? or % Sentry damage?)? Or leave the +14% Life alone & try to enchant the Reduced Resource Cost to the maximum 8% instead?

    3) I rotate between various bracers depending on whether I need the bonus damage to Cold, Fire, or Lightning. I finally obtained my first pair of Ancient Legendary Bracers, a pair of Steady Strikers with the following stats:

    +650 Dex (perfect roll!)

    +124 Resist All

    +6% Attack Speed

    +6% CC (via enchant)

On paper, these bracers are again an all-around upgrade for Damage, Toughness, & Healing; however, am unsure if the loss of elemental damage is worth switching over to these Ancient bracers full-time. Any suggestions?

    4) Bows

It seems like I can only find regular legendary bows for all the "good" stuff (Calamity, Kridershot, Windforce, Uskang) with DPS in the 2K range, and I can only get Ancient Legendary bows with DPS in the 3K-plus range for the relatively "non-used" weapons (Cluckeye, Wojahnni Assaulter, Izzuccob, K'mar Tenclip). It seems like on these forums everyone is saying that it's better to use the blacksmith to craft an Arcane Barb & try to get an Ancient weapon with over 3K DPS, as opposed to sticking with a "good" bow that's still in the 2K DPS range; correct?

That is, I'm just wondering if I should just play w/ one of the Ancient Legendary bows I already have in my stash until I find a "good" bow w/ over 3K DPS...?

Thanks in advance. Apologies am unable to provide screen shots at the moment.

posted a message on First WH ever and it sucks
If the first WH you ever found is an Ancient one with an almost perfect Dex roll (645 out of 650) & a perfect IAS roll (7%), I can only say your luck is a whole lot better than mine. Before RoS the only WH I ever got was via the AH, & since RoS the two WH drops I've gotten were regular ones with less CD than 30% as well (& worse Dex & IAS too). My current WH was given to me by a friend in-game: 7% IAS & 40% CD. However, the catch was that it was a Str WH, so I had to re-roll it to Dex as opposed to trying to ge a higher CD roll... :-P

posted a message on Which bow to use?
I think that in general, Calamity usually rules in group play due to Marked for Death.

That being said though, if you have a decent pair of Strong Arm bracers to go with that Windforce, doesn't that kind of make up the difference? The proc on the bracers is "Enemies hit by knockbacks suffer 20-30% more damage for 5 seconds when they land"--I'm assuming in group play, everyone would get that bonus damage to an enemy that was hit by a Windforce/Strong Arm combo?

posted a message on DH bug - hardcore players, be careful
Wow, I just encountered this bug the other day & was going to open a bug report to Blizzard. For me, I was using Wudijo's Lightning build in a Grift & I ran up to the Shield Pylon cause I was being chased by a Reflect Damage pack, thinking it would keep me safe. Instead, even though the Shield went up, I still continued to take damage, & quickly died thereafter. :-( Was really thinking "WTF?" to myself when it happened....
