It seems like 80% of the threads started on this or any other message board are full of endless whining about various features and bugs, 15% are more rational posts that are still all about the things people don't like, and 5% are about random other stuff.
I would like to go against the trend by starting a thread about how much I love Diablo 3. Sure the servers have been unstable, the AH has been buggy as hell, the RMAH keeps getting pushed back, and many things are different from both Diablo 2 and WoW. But you know what? I am still enjoying the shit out of this game, and expect I will be for a long time to come.
I dont post here often, but I thought I would agree with the OP here real quick. I've been savoring this gaming experience, just letting myself go in this crazy, atmosphere drenched, click-fest. Im only level 38, in nightmare.. I don't give a damn about everyone beating inferno before me. I decided tonight I would take a moment away from my new found plastic crack, maybe take a look at what other people are thinking on the message boards.. I was blown away to see so much anger towards the game that I am just straight addicted to. What gives? There is ALOT of hate being thrown around towards blizzard and this game, people saying that the game wont last, and they are bored. Oh well. Im going back to kill stuff in my interactive work of art, if the rest of the world doesn't like it, what do I care? Im gonna be here for years to come, and I knew that in the first few minutes of playing..
I agree with the OP. I absolutely love the game and so do my friends. I think once the initial, "why isn't it just a upgraded graphics version of D2" mentality fell away and they see the game for what it is they're enjoying it alot more. I'm loving the inferno difficulty so far. I just got into inferno this weekend and am farming act 1. Just farming can be a challenge at times. Running into a champion pack that at first surprises me with their ability combination, then angers me because i can't kill them, then frustrates me cause i don't want to change my build or skip them, but when i finally manage to kill them i get a feeling of accomplishment regardless if anyone saw it. Eventually i'll outgear them and run them over and then i'll move on to act 2 and start all over again. I love the feeling of progression. Since i'm playing a barb with out extremely rich friends or friends farming act 3 and 4. I'm actually doing a natural progression and loving every second of it. I hope that every patch and expansion that comes out keeps this feeling going.
It's always good to see positivity (even if your last sentence was questionable: don't ask for flames, or acknowledge 'haters': just ignore, rise above it) in these forums.
I've been loving the game. Got through Act 1 Inferno, struggling on Act 2 but it's ok. Doing some farming, levelling another character, generally having fun. Sure, the game has issues (not naive enough to ignore them), but overall it's a very high quality product. Very satisfied with this game.
My theory (and i am generalising) is that most of the whiners are kids who have no jobs, are not studying and just play D3 all day long. They are bored of their lives and have nothing better to do than moan and complain.
The rest of us who do have jobs and/or are studying are grateful that we can get home and hopefully play a bit of D3 every night. We enjoy it and have some fun and feel no need to go online every 20 minutes and create a thread about how shit the game is.
Welcome to the new generation of gamers my friends.

Very well said my friend agree with you 100%.
I'm loving the game so far, and sure it has glitches and server problems. But all of that would be fixed i'm sure of it.
People are just whining and whining. I agree with the OP here i'm really addicted to this game and i love it, i don't really care if is different from D2 or D1. I simply enjoy playing the game period. And i will keep enjoying it for long time to come.
Definitely agreeing with this post. Absolutely an amazing game. I've been fortunate enough to have made it to inferno on one char and another char to 31 with only one disconnect. I'm honestly puzzled as to why everyone believes the servers are SO bad. I'm surprised they've been this good! Such a good game though.
This game has a tremendous amount of flaws. But it has still managed to entertain the hell out of me for the past two weeks.
My gut tells me it will be fixed, but I just can't help but think the game's long-term economy will be ruined (or at the very least lopsided) by people farming A4 Inferno now because they glitched/exploited to get where they are very early. Before things were hotfixed.
I'm holding out for the patch that reduces spike damage in Inferno Acts 2-4. If they can pull off a difficult game while providing a constant stream of incoming damage (not 1 shot kills) then the game will be extremely fun. I want health globes to mean something and I want to be able to take a few hits of damage so that I can actually have strategy and PLAY the game... not kite every single mob as a WD
I had so much fun in Hell (which was exactly what I described above). Sadly, I was only in Hell for about a day and now I outgear the content so it's not hard (or fun) anymore.
65 hours on my Wizard and in Hell Act 2 and got a Monk at 32. Going slow and steady, savoring the content and just doing nothing but D3. Sure it's not perfect, but as a launch game it is awesome. Not even close to done with the game yet.
Will my interest lag before the expansion? Probably, but its been a long while since I HAD to play 30mins of a game before leaving for work in the mornings. And I've done it for 2 straight weeks.

Agree 100%. I guess I shouldn't have been so surprised at how many players had averaged about 10 hours per day over the first week or two....or how many players used the term "epic fail" during any one of the maintenance shutdowns.
I fear that if they don't get some sunlight soon, they'll be lifetime members of the Kingdom of the Undead.

Flame away, haters.
EDIT: Fail math corrected.
My fail math has been corrected.

Granted I just started inferno but I sure can see alot of incentive for me to keep on playing for a looong time.

Only time will tell though.
