posted a message on UNIQUE equipped??
i still don't understand why uniques were called uniques in D2. How is an item unique if every item that drops is exactly the same? (yes i know dmg, armor, and values could vary)

    seems like an oxymoron...

I think the huge difference between D2 and D3 is how you progress. In D2 regardless of what gear you acquired progression didn't end when you killed diablo or baal in hell. You could still keep leveling your character to 99. In D3 once you hit max level your character progresses by acquiring items which can be done without even playing the actual game. You can deck out your alt with all ilvl 63 items as soon as it hits 60. There's zero endgame replayability. Atleast in D2 when you finished playing your character and made a new one. Even if you bought the best gear possible for your alt you still had to actually play it if you wanted to get it to 99. unless you botted to 99 >_> I don't know about all of you but generally when i play a game doesn't matter what genre. A good game gets me so addicted it's all i can think about all day and i'll sit there and play for hours on end till my eyes bleed. I'm definitely not addicted to D3 =( i want to be i've been waiting 10 years to be...

    • Soulbound or account bound items
    • New interesting classes
    • Better story
These would do for me. And give it FREE!

I'd go with BoE items that are account bound after equipping on one of your characters. but only for whatever the highest ilvl is at the time. Of course that still doesn't solve the gold inflation issue of not enough "DECENT" gold sinks in the game.

Definitely new class or classes and i could care less about the story. Yeah yeah yeah all you lore freaks want a great story to play through. Unfortunately you'll play through the story in what? 4-10 hours max? then play it again and again for another 500hours? Yes complain about story all you want but when it comes down to it. The story isn't why you keep replaying the game, if it was most of you would have stopped after beating normal.

anyway i'd like to see an overhaul to the itemization...bottlenecking people into certain builds and stats just plain sucks...

posted a message on Diablo Endgame: which would you prefer
So i was thinking alot about whether or not i'm enjoying progressing through inferno. I think on one hand i do enjoy it as it's a challenge, but i wasn't sure if i enjoyed it more then say leveling to 99 in D2.

Completing hell difficulty in D2 was extremely easy and it was the grind to 99 that took some perseverance. Even if you managed to finally reach 99 with your character, you started a new one and did the same thing all over again. Pre-LoD grinding to 99 was a feat that few had done and after the LoD expansion it made it easier but it was still something that took weeks or longer based on your playing time. In D3 our endgame is progressing through inferno. Sure it was supposed to take a long time and though not everyone has done it the real task of D3 is acquiring the items to progress through inferno. But once you kill diablo on one character and have act 3-4 on farm. Doing the same thing with another character is not that far off compared to trying to level another character to 99 in D2.

So though you've probably already casted your vote. Even if you haven't completely inferno difficulty yet as i haven't. Which do you prefer for your endgame? Grinding to 99 or inferno difficulty?

My answer is probably grinding to 99. As much of a chore as it felt, it gave me something to strive for and i felt rewarded on a daily basis. Seeing my gold go up doesn't feel as good as seeing my character level increase and the overall power of my character increase.

So though in some of my post i said otherwise i take back many of the things i said. I still find this game fun but i feel a sense of stagnance at times. I still have alts to level and my barb still needs to kill diablo but there are times where i feel my daily gain in gold or items just isn't enough to make me feel like i'm getting anywhere.

i understand the image but i don't understand the reason for the thread...yes he likes playing the AH that's great. Probably alot more productive then farming.

I guess it's better then a "i hate playing the AH" thread...

posted a message on Mad dps powerhouse 2h build
i can't handle act 3 champs yet but i did try a build very similar to this in act 3 for shits and giggles. I was able to kill all normal mobs but most champs wipe the floor with me. Although i didn't have any defensive passives and i had revenge instead of ignore pain. I think i'll give it a try again with more tweaks to my build...i can farm act 1 and 2 though pretty easily with the build.

    unbuffed
    30k hp
    22k dmg
    5k armor
    185% crit dmg
17% crit (this will increase to 27% when i get a mace or axe)
    500 ra
    800 LoH
    no regen or LL

After reading this though i think imma try get some lifeleach into my build and add more damage and probably ignore pain. I was trying to stack LoH but i'll probably try for more LL and see if my damage is enough to power through the 80% DR on LL. Quick question. What is your resistances at and are you able to do act 3 and 4 with this build? with warcry(impunity) my lowest resistance is at 800. I'm kind of thinking of dropping some resistance for more damage...possibly rings, amulet, helm or possibly for a life leach might belt. nice post btw...i love merciless assault, only last week did i actually try to work it back into my build but i've been doing a charge/sprint build. I'll probably give berzerker rage a try for more dmg and take out sprint for battle rage.

Well imo it's nice to know that i'm getting ilvl 63 items when farming act 1 or 2. Whether the stats are any good is the question but atleast i know their dropping, instead of farming my ass off for weeks getting nothing and wondering whether or not any of those 1000 rares i got were even a ilvl 63 item.

And btw it was technically the community that asked blizzard to allow us to see the ilvl of the items. So if your gonna get mad then blame the community for asking for it in the first place.

posted a message on How are you Guys so RICH!!??
You can still make alot of money if you know what your doing. For drops sure you need a bit of luck but like GT4 said you need to do alittle bit of research. Find out what types of builds each class is using and what stats are best for those builds. Many people vendor or salvage items that could potentially have been good for another class. My friend made a barb first like i did and vendored a ton of items that monks or DHs could have used because the only thing in our head was. We need str/vit/ra items and LoH. that's all we knew.

So do your research and figure out what sells and what doesn't. Once you acquire a decent amount of gold whenever you have a chance, play the AH. Sometimes people put items on the AH for prices that are much lower then what they could potentially sell for because they don't realize what they have. Especially now with ilvl 63 items dropping in act 1 many players will be getting items that will sell for alot but they won't price it for the right amount.

I've actually been doing it on the RMAH. I had a decent amulet that i sold for $50 and i used that money to start buying and selling on the RMAH. I'm definitely not rich but if i keep at it i'll get there.

What a stupid concept. Grind. So you can grind. So you can grind.

Grind in a diablo game? what? There was no grinding in Diablo 2 wtf is with this grinding in diablo 3? this is an outrage, Nobody told me there would be grinding. I want my wow endgame back where everytime i kill a boss i get points to spend on items that don't increase or decrease in value. screw this stupid game.

posted a message on How much dex (for dodge) does a barb want/need?
If your wearing a shield i don't see any reason to NOT take revenge. The ability does alot of damage, has no cooldown, chance on proc when you get hit/block, and heals you based on how many targets it hits. wow that sounds like the perfect ability to use when wearing a sword and shield...seriously what ability would you take in it's place?

As far as dex...i wouldn't give up other stats to stack dex but if it happens to be on a piece of gear that has what you want....str/vit/ra then that's great. Don't go out of your way to get it. Dodge is great and taking less overall damage is better then having zero dex and trying to force revenge procs. As much as i like revenge it's still an RNG ability and sometimes it procs like crazy and sometimes you will go a short period where you don't get one. Can't rely on it too much.

posted a message on Thank you Blizzard! <3
So i'm going to go out on a limb here and risk being a complete douche bag, and say that i've noticed the only players i've seen complaining about the repair bill cost are either the glass cannons that die alot or people trying to farm areas they're not really geared to farm.

I think it's kind of funny imo. When i tried to progress through act 2 the first time on my barb i had such a hard time because it was rare that i ran into a champion pack that didn't have an affix that would decimate my barb. Eventually the repair bills and amount of time wasted would send me back to act 1 to farm some more. To hear people that could farm act 3 regardless if they died numerous times complain that now it's not worth it is kind of funny to me. Anytime someone would say, i can't do act 2 or 3 on my barb i get hit so hard i'm getting 1-shot even with blah blah blah stats. All anyone would say is well you should go farm act 1 then.

Well i'm gonna say the same thing to people complaining about the repair bills....go farm act 1 then.

as far as the patch...i agree i like it. now hopefully some of the cool builds that we were posting for months prior to the game coming out may work. Although i wish they had fixed lifeleach, if IAS was such a dominant stat why didn't they fix life leach? right now life on hit is pretty much the dominant life regen stat.

posted a message on Which Class Were You Unsure About Playing That You Now Really Enjoy?
the only class i didn't try in the beta was the DH. I got my DH to 60 this weekend right before the patch hit lol. I have to say playing a range glass cannon is alot more fun then playing a melee glass cannon lol. Although he was technically a tank with a 2hander on >_> just pre-1.03 you had to be a tank to play melee.

the only reason i didn't make a DH first was because some people were saying that playing with 2 resources was difficult blah blah blah...don't know why i ever listen to people who don't know what their talking about.

Anyway i'm gonna make a wizard next after my barb and DH complete inferno. I'm saving the monk for when my wife finally starts playing. Her vid card kind of blew up and instead of letting me fix it she decided to spend all that money on a new iphone and now she wants the new ipad >_> oh well atleast i get to play =P

posted a message on This game is getting less and less fun by the minute
You know i'll admit the repair bills did kind of suck but i did notice a change in the drops as i was farming act 1 yesterday. I even tried act 2 a bit and was having a noticeably easier time in act 2. Unfortunately, i kind of sold some of my barbs equipment on the RMAH lol. So i was wearing some less then desireable gear lol. normally i'm at 40k hp with ~900 RA, 8k armor (warcry) and about 15k dps. but yesterday i was only at 6k armor, 600ra and 25k hp, and about 12k dps and doing not too bad. Once my auctions end or i buy some new pieces for my barb imma try him out in act 2 and 3 to see how he does.

You know i have to admit that your post is pretty funny and you could be trolling or serious and that really doesn't matter to me. However, if you are serious then i think something is wrong with the way you play. You claim that your this elite gamer and that every game you pick up you can beat in a matter of days on the hardest difficulty. Well unfortunately inferno isn't just about your skill at playing the game. it's also about putting time and effort into farming money/gear so you can attempt the harder acts. It sounds like you just expected to cruise through the whole thing with minimal effort and that your not as good at this game as you think you are. If you did put as much time and effort into the game as you say you have then you should have progressed farther then you have. I've progressed as far as you have and i get to play maybe 3-4 days a week for maybe 3 hours at a time. I hit 60 well behind the curve and struggled to keep up with the market and i'm playing a melee class with a 2hander, which imo has had it alot harder prior to this patch.

I'm not saying i'm better then you but alot of the things you say don't add up and honestly i think your either a troll or just not as good as you think you are at this particular game...
