Let me start by saying that Diablo 3 has been awesome! However I have a huge issue with the way the loot works. First and foremost is the usefulness of Legendaries. Legendaries have an extremely rare drop rate, with that in mind, when one drops hopefully its of some use to someone but seeing some of the legendaries out there they fail to even compete with same level magic and rares. I am in Act I inferno and some of the drops are already better than the higher/highest level legendaries. For how rare legendaries are they should be of great significance. Another thing about the legendaries is that they have unique art which is awesome but its totally wasted when a rare that is MUCH better than it comes along and looks like an ordinary sword. By the end of the game everyones going to have an awesome weapon/armor with very plain/boring visuals.
Another issue i have with the loot is the randomization. I understand blizzard is trying to go for ALL random items however it doesn't make sense to me to have ALL random loot. For example, crafting a 2h Mighty Weapon for a barbarian has the potential to have Dex or Intel which is totally useless. Atleast make the class specific weapons with class specific stats, there's no reason to have class specific weapons if they don't even apply to the class because of the stats!
It has nothing to do with it being Diablo, if it did it still would be wrong but I'm trying to understand why blizz would put MORE time and effot into legendaries when really they won't be used nearly as much as magics or rares. And yes even in Diablo 2 LOD MOST of someones items were perfect Uniques with Rares for gloves and ammys.
Int helps a barbarian, It increases his resistance's so I don't understand why having Int is bad. Sure if you want damage and armor try to get a Strength, but if you're looking for extra resistance then take int, or dex for better dodge. They aren't completely useless. I don't mind not using legendaries, you can't dye them. I like dying them.

Well the game is whole about randomization. In everything. If it doesn't please you, then I am sorry.
If there was too little randomization, people would experience all content and have best builds/items in weeks/months, and Blizzard wants us to play it longer (I hope they will implement some kind of ladder,or something similar, in the future).
I understand it's about randomization, but it doesn't have to be that kind of randomization. Randomize the stat range, randomize the skill range, randomize the damage, randomize the effects but dont make it a total random item. I have no issue AT ALL with regular items that EVERYONE can use being random but whats the use of a class specific item when its stats have the potential to be everyones stat.

Yeah but flat resistances increase by a much more significant value. Int adds such miniscule resistance that it doesn't even make a difference.
"Welcome to Diablo" my ass. Uniques were the top of the pack in LoD. I'm not saying that was a good thing, but it was definitely a Diablo thing.
Incorrect, the top of the pack were runewords, which made every single item underneath them obsolete, and was a terrible mechanic. And guess what? Uniques had affixes with ranges, just like legendaries in D3. The difference is in D3 there is a DPS number, and some chances for completely different affixes.
And yes, welcome to diablo sir, where randomization means there's a better chance of you getting hit by a meteor made of titties than you finding the best possible item with the best possible stats.

You say Runewords like every piece of gear they used were runewords. If it was about runewords being on top then what about the crafting system? Which was suppose to replace it in someway, however even those legendaries from the crafting system don't compare to some magic/rares I've already seen on the AH.

Not only that, Legendaries have Unique art design, I'd like to be able to use some of those legendaries and look Legendary while still being able to beat Inferno, however that's not how it's going to be. We're forced to use rares/magics because they are handsdown better than legendaries.
Well, the idea was to avoid the situation where the only items people would want were legendaries, by making the very best rares and magics could be better.
If a lot of the items you're finding in inferno are better than the best legendaries, then Blizz probably goofed a little with the stat ranges. If you're only seeing better magic/rares in the AH, then you're comparing the very best of the best magic/rares to legendaries, in which case Blizz wants them to be better.
That said, I like the idea of rares being able to compete with legendaries, if you're looking for specific traits (like just straight damage), and from all the "better" magic/rares people have posted, that's what it seems to be - the legendary is nearly as good in damage, but has other benifits like +stats for hp, resist, dodge, or special effects like stun or knockback.
I posted the exact same thing on the official forums and got nothing by WOW kiddies who probably haven't beaten act 3 normal telling me "its random bro, look it up, its diablo duh". Well that is BS. In diablo 2 LOD we had 4 levels of items, blue, rare, set and unique/legendary.
In diablo 3 we have the same 4 levels, EXCEPT ONLY blues and rares are actually useable.
I dont give a damn if Legendary and sets drop EXTREMELY RARELY, I am in act 2 hell and aint seen a single 1 and neither has my friends, but why make them so rare and give them bad stats? THIS MAKES ENTIRELY NO SENSE AT ALL.

OK....if thats the case then make the legendaries atleast drop more, theres no reason that I see a rare every 10 mins thats good/amazing but then get a legendary after 40 hours and its crap. If rares and magics are suppose to be better than legendaries then let them drop less, it doesnt make sense that the best items in the game are the most common and the rarest items are barely useable.
I personally love the randomization. That is part of the charm of roguelikes: trying to get the best gear you can while not fully knowing what's out there. It gives you a reason to keep coming back. Not to mention I've gotten decently lucky with drops and crafts and am sitting happy at 500 dps at level 30.

I would be very careful with this statement. Well rolled Rares, Runewords, and Crafted items were the "top of the pack" (in my experience at least). Not saying they were bad, just you could roll better if you were lucky enough.

Legendaries probably could use a bit of a buff, then again I haven't seen to many and compared them to similar level magic/rare items. However, if they make legendaries clearly superior than it will be just like D2. Everyone will be wearing the exact same gear at the end of the game and they will be farming to find 'perfect' pieces of the exact same gear they are wearing. If rares and magic items are viable alternatives than this won't happen, atleast not to the extent of D2. I've only got one Legendary item but it is better than any other items of the same type that I have found.
It most definitely is a Diablo thing though. Before LOD even came out rares were the items of choice(there are a few exceptions to this, but they are few and far between). It wasn't until LOD that uniques became king(with the exception of some runewords) when they came out with the next two difficulties of uniques. Before that, there were only normal mode quality uniques, which is why rares were king.
