so we all know d3 is one to three months away, possibly (unlikely) more.
what will you be playing in the mean time? myself, i'll be playing kingdoms of amalur. i played the free trial and it was pretty fun but limiting in what you could experience. after reading reviews at ign and whatnot i'm sold and i'm gonna pick the game up tomorrow.
of course i'll be playing the d3 beta occasionally too. it's just too much fun blowing up waves of undead with my wizard.
Even after a few months, I still play the beta quite a bit. I try to spice it up by running zones naked (except for a weapon) to make it a challenge. Apart from D3, I really enjoy Dark Souls as a highly satisfying JRPG - very challenging, huge, and very rewarding. I watch a lot of pro SC2 (GSL) and play Street Fighter 4 to get my competitive fix (SFxTekken soon too!). That's about it until D3 hits.
First game in quite a while that is looking like a great place to waste time. Not even Skyrim held to my standards. The only problem is how bad the PC controls are, so you pretty much need a controller to have a nice experience.
It seems like you have much freedom but there is more vivid and fun things to see and do, and a much more interesting combat system, than the likes of Skyrim.
I have literally no other games in sight, though. Pretty bored of gaming.

i agree with this, i feel like the game was developed mainly for consoles. i will definitely be playing it on my xbox 360. debating whether or not to go to gamestop today at midnight....
Unfortunately the camera angle and distance from the character really kills it for me in Kingdoms of Amalur. You're looking up your characters ass 99% of the time not able to see anything. It actually gives me headaches (i never get headaches playing games)
It also basically plays like a Fable game. You can't jump, ever area is sectioned off by multiple load zones. It really feels like a game that was held back by console limitations with a PC port tacked on.
Too bad as i was looking forward to it until i tried the demo.

I hate not being able to jump in a game normally (it bothered me when I first heard about it), but I didn't notice it while playing. The game doesn't get you stuck in stupid places, longing for the ability to jump, and the combat system doesn't scream "I want to jump", especially since you can dodge.
As for the camera, there are lots of official fixes coming for this. There's been a lot of feedback and a topic -specifically- about all the camera issues. Trust me, they're not leaving it as it is.

Our winter this year has been so weak I might be able to get back into hiking as early as this month. So I might start doing more of that in my free time. I'm also still trying to get my rig sold so I can build a new one. Mmm, I'm still replaying older games lately, making Let's Play videos. Watching a lot of Farscape. Working, school,....Walking Dead this Sunday.
I don't have any games to play right now so I'm pretty bored. I sat down and watched the Underworld Trilogy today which was good, maybe I should catch up on some other films as I very rarely watch anything.

The question isn't why do I kill. The question is, why I don't kill everybody.
I'm not thrilled with Kingdom's of Amalur either. =( I figured I'd give it a try, but I'm just not digging it. The combat system is really quite fun, but there has got to be something else to draw me in. The environment art is beautiful, but I don't care much for the character art. The UI looks terrible. The conversation system drives me nuts. Even the prerendered cinematics didn't look all that great. I'm going to give it a little while longer, but I don't have high hopes.
Anyways, back OT. Reckoning I'll give a little time. I still haven't finished Skyrim, so I've at least got to finish up the main story thread (I'm really close.) I don't think I ever finished all the new Portal 2 content that got released last October(?). QUBE is quite fun, I've still got a few hours left in that I think. I finally decided to give SC2 a try recently (never thought I'd enjoy RTS games) and it's fantastic. So, in the time I'm not playing any of that or WoW, it's SC2 for me. Of all the games I'm playing, SC2 is the top of my priority list (outside of raid time.) Hell, maybe I'll get into one of the last opt-in batches and get to enjoy some D3 also!
Diablo 3 beta! Maybe Kingdoms of Amalur I really can't decide! Loved the demo but don't know if i will have time to get a good experience from it. I'm still slowly making my way through Warhammer 40k space marine which i want to finish and some Mw3 when the mood takes me

farscape is the best in my opinion walking dead is pretty awesome also ill prob play league of legends and tribes ascend, every one can get a beta key at alienwarearena.com or like their facebook page.
*SIGH* I resubbed WoW... Gonna level my mage from 30 to 85, and gear out my hunter and hopefully beat the end raid boss with him and/or both of them. That's my goal in WoW to keep me occupied. I might also play some Skyrim, and will definitely play some Team Fortress 2 (nightly), and then probably some starcraft 2 here and there.
this is me, that game is similar to WoW for me, in that i hate it but i keep going back. If i'm not playing this, i'm wasting untold hours watching the yogscast on youtube, or re-playing games from my childhood over and over, such as Baldur's gate 2, monkey island games. Also, minecraft. I tried playing D2 again this week but i couldn't actually play online, every game i created got insta spammed by bots.. it's so broken lol

Currently playing: League of legends, Legend of Grimlock, Magic:the gathering 2012, Dota 2 beta, Civilisation IV
I will spend every waking moment obsessing over every scrap of D3 news. I also plan on working 8 hours a day, sleeping, spending time with my girlfriend, doing my bit to keep the house clean. But mostly obsessing

from a few of the reviews i've read, it seems that KoA actually has a pretty in depth story a la Skyrim, however it is more "contained". you could say it's slightly more linear, but there is also a healthy amount of choice involved in where to go (i.e. you can go anywhere as long as you survive). the complaint about the dialogue is something i haven't heard, everyone seems to have been thrilled by the quality and variety of the voice acting. i think what draws me in about this game is the combat. Skyrim's combat is decidedly bland making me lose interest very quickly. KoA seems to be a good marriage between the open world aspect, the character development aspect, and interesting combat.
i didn't really notice the camera angle being bad when i played the demo. i hope you didn't draw my attention to something that will now annoy me which i previously would've ignored, hahah

Of course, especially since this is after all, EA, I'd wait until the camera updates are live until buying.
Yeah I'm aware of that thread. I responded in it too after playing the demo.
No idea why no one at that developer went "guys, our camera sucks, lets fix it"
