I haven't played non-seasonal character since season 1, didn't play at all season 5 (because Fallout 4).
So my question is this.
In season 6. What are the benefits of only playing season 6 ?
The things, I think, I know so far.
Cosmetics.
The season journey reward. (like the stash)
Haedrig's gift
The things I don't know
Is the new rework set only for season ?
Are there some unique "affixed" legendary that drop only in season 6 ?
Here's all the things I've found. If someone can share a light on those stuff, that'll be really apreciated.
P.S. : I did my research on Google first and the only source I found was the main site... And that was not enough so I came here.
P.P.S. : I ask this because I want to spend sometime refreshing my non-seasonal toon. Having finish the stash journey, I feel that there's nothing great for me to do in season 6.

The season is underway. Don't know if I'll make it through.
There are no benefits besides the ones you mentioned. If that's not enough for you, play non-season after getting the stash.
The main reason why people enjoy season is the fresh start. If that doesn't work for you and you need additional incentives, then non-season is exactly what you want to do.

Ok so I can make the same build as I did in season. That's great.
Finally a way to get rid of my old stuff and find new things.

Stash is the only reason to even play s6. The cosmetics you can get anytime you want later on. And if not. Not a big loss. This game need quality patches with new items, new sets and so on. Not minor crap like we got now. What it really needs is a new expansion with a new class. But im guessing the reason why the last patch and most likely next patch is minor and shitty is that they are working on a new diablo game. And not bothering too much about d3. They did hire people for a new unannounced game in the diablo universe. So keep yer hopes up.
Only reason why I'm playing season atm is the journey since I enjoy those portrait frames. As soon as I finish the journey, I'll go back playing my non seasonal chars.

One thing I do not understand is the seeming obsession with the cosmetic hoarding this season (haven't played NS so not sure what the momentum is over there).
Essentially, they do absolutely nothing however people seem to flock to them like they're the new found BiS item of all time. Sure, it's a new pet or transmog or whatever, add zip zero ziltch for making the game better. I have 4 pets now, why get more? Every single one you have does exactly the same thing (pick up gold). If one type gathers gold, another gathers globes, then of course get them all and use for your situation\needs of the moment. Couldn't care less about the wings or pennants, they are just in the way and distract (ie gold wings from pre order ROS). Portrait frame? Sure, show your level of completion in the season or if you bought OW, completed lvl 70 in old seasons or hit level 20 in HotS.
I think this sends a message to Blizz that crap content patches are awesome and no new real worthwhile additions are required if people will accept crap as the new best thing since sliced bread. I remember when Seasons was about getting new items ahead of NS, this was a great concept.....
Perhaps I am gravely mistaken however it's what I currently perceive.

Diablo is a loot game. When they add new loot, people want it. Good gear is getting too easy to get. There are only a handful of things to do per season: get achievements, grind exp (upgrading gems for augments at the same time), push solo GR towards the end (or before you quit).
Farming cosmetics is a good break for people who are bored and/or are hoarders. GIVE ME COSMIC WINGS ALREADY!!!

I don't know what the MAIN reason why people enjoy season is, but top TWO are probably fresh start and, very importantly, a larger player base and more competition.
Nonseason communities and leaderboards are a barren wasteland. Normally, top 100 on nonseason leaderboard would barely even make top 1000 on seasonal leaderboard despite huge paragon/augment/item advantages.
what are the benefits of NS? I see absolutely none.

1. You have your paragon pool from all previous seasons as well as all of your amassed materials.
2. No objectives, challenges or conquests to pressure you into completing unnecessary tasks.
3. Not having to create or rebirth a character and level them up every freaking season.
4. The freedom to play your own pace without an "ending soon" looming around the corner.
5. New items added are no longer "Seasons First," so there is no longer a requirement to roll a seasonal character in order to try them out sooner.
Yes, you miss out on increasing your stash space, adding new portrait art or pennents/pets/transmogs exclusive to season play. Suggestively, for the casual player, this is the ideal mode to play. Once players get the maximum stash space increase, we may very well see more Normal (stop calling it Non-Season!) Mode players. That is, unless they find new and very alluring rewards. I suggest much better pennants, as I'm not a fan of any of them.
Either way, to each their own. Play Seasonal or Normal. Just play and have fun.

NS lets you play mindlessly without that "impending doom" of the upcoming season ending. If you play season only (and regard non-season as useless), any progress you make this season will be gone in 3 months from now. Anything becomes a "short sprint", that super awesome GG amulet you just got will be useless in a few weeks. NS is much closer to my understanding of the "RPG" part in an ARPG like Diablo, where I'm seeking to constantly make my character stronger.
I never liked seasons in D3, nor ladders in D2. But in both games I've been pushed to it because Blizzard decided to make certain things exclusive to a particular game mode (rune words in D2, stash tab in D3). Also, the constant nudging of players to move into season mode has moved my friends list to seasons, and I don't like to play alone. But ever since I moved to seasonal game play rather than NS (about half a year ago) I find myself less motivated to play. I've quit both S4 and S6 after 2 weeks/2 days, respectively. Before I was considering seasons/ladders, I was playing Diablo non-stop both in D2 and D3, and although I oftentimes took breaks, I liked that I could come back to my powerful character and take on more adventures with him.
In my mind, non-seasonal game play means that when you leave your hero alone for a while, he'll sit in a tavern and have a few beers with Haedrig and Tyrael and whoever - only to join you in another adventure in full strength when you're back. And you can start right where you left things at, further improving your incredible strength and increase the amount of loot and items on that character. In seasonal game play, coming back to the game means you always start from scratch. I won't deny that a fresh start has a lot of appeal and I've had some of my most enjoyable moments on the season opening weekends, but that short burst is followed with weeks of boredom. And the fact that a few weeks into the season the community always dies, as players and streamers alike move to other games, shows that I'm not the only one. I personally am still not convinced that seasonal game play, at least the way it is designed right now, is the best for D3.

How is this true? I talk about bold italic underlined orange stuff.
When season ends, you get all items to your NS chars. Its up to you if you will save them or melt, or even throw away if you want. It is not useless, it is there, on NS chars, waiting for you to be used as you please at any time. Well, maybe not during maintenance, since you can't acess the damn game during these lol.

The essential part is in the sentence before that, I highlighted that in yellow.
Many people (I'd even say most people) who play season see non-season as completely utterly useless. Just think of any of the big players and streamers - Wudijo is the *only* one who hinted interested in pushing non-season at some point (and after his ban he basically said that's never gonna happen). For season-only players the "post-season rollover" is completely useless. I personally know many people who don't even go through the ordeal of sorting all their mail and just let it expire, losing the loot forever.

I did this season purely for the stash tab. TBH, I think that will be my only motivation for doing seasons moving forward.
The benefit of having a clean slate and new found excitement Besides what you already wrote.
